@DopeDethrone yep. We'll get one in stock asap, but the next one coming in is pre-sold, so I won't demo it. It's always a trade-off in my mind. Regular humbuckers and nice and thick but lack sparkle and chime. Joe Bardens are a nice option too, but can cut too much sometimes. My hollow Gretsch just woofs out too much when i crank it. Vox made a cool semi-hollow that was designed to control that better, and did a nice job, but seemed to lack nuance of both like the Cajun does so well.
We keep our guitars fresh, but I don't mind playing it like it should be played. You've made me curious about it. I'm dying to crank it up !! I play a Gretsch with Filtertrons, and my biggest problem with that when I go high-gain is all of the feedback from the hollow-body. the Cajun is MUCH more controllable with similar tone and character. But my Gretsch has a pin-up girl on it. I can't put a decal on this top !!
yep, I hear ya. If I had one, I'd do it for you. Unfortunately (or fortunately), they sell pretty quick and the next one we have coming is already sold. I'll get to it eventually !!!
Filtertrons tend to lean toward clean, so when I'm alone, I want to play pretty. BUT this guitar is GREAT for classic Rock and Roll, which can be very hard and very strummy kind of playing, like Gretsch and other early rock hollow body guitarist (Chuck Berry etc). A full band helps bring out that. Yep, too many of my demos are way too mellow. It's not that I'm getting old (though I am), it's just the context where I do these have not been conducive to that.:-) thnx!
