dude, omg i love u so much right now. i couldnt find any video that could help me pronounce the proper greetings and goodbyes, so thank u sooo much man! hope u make more videos !! <3
the audio isn't very clear, but your pronunciation sounded good. Any chance of a clearer audio?? I have the same prob with the other videos that you've posted, they're great, just not clear.
Oh god, i want to learn navi but the pocket guide is only in english! It's hard because there are words that i cant understand, or phrases that i cant understand. Can you traduce the pocket guide to spanih? here in latinoamerica are so much people that wants to learn navi but they cant because the maual is in englis.
The Na'vi don't say "how are you?" - it's more like "are you well?", so the answer is either "yes" or "no".
"Yes" = Srane (pronounced "sraah-neh")
"No" = Kehe (pronounced "keh-heh)
"Thanks" = Irayo (pronounced "ee-reye-oh")
Yes, "kame ngat" is short for "oel ngati kameie" which means "I See you" ("see" spiritually, understand the soul, empathize). The "i" is dropped because it is optional, and dropping it simply shortens the phrase. Eywa ayngahu! =D
tnx' for uploading, its so awesome to learn this languages... after we finished this we may go to pandora and interact with the Na'vi people... hahaha.... that was fun... but seriously tnx' for the upload...
The pronounciation seems to be rather easy to me, since I am russian. But the grammar.. I do not completely understand it. I mean that I don't get how to make sentences. Can you help me with it a little bit? I would appreciate it a lot!
Tx is not an ingressive sound, it's egressive. In other words, you need to push the air out from the glottis, not in. Otherwise, it becomes an implosive. In any case, that was very good.
thanks for the comment, but believe me i was ejecting, it might be difficult to hear due to the poor audio quality, I also notice that sometimes my ejective sound louder than others, but it was done letting air out from the glottis. I appreciate your comment,
chinese is still easier..

Kaltxi. Ngaru lu fpom srak? If it ends with "srak" it is a yes-no question type. So really it could be "Hello. Are you well?"

Kaltxi, oe-ya tsumukan :)
Just wondering, how would you reply to 'how are you' in Na'vi, and what is the word for 'thank you'?
Thanks so much for putting these videos up, by the way. So far, I'd say you have one of the best pronunciations I've heard!
PurpleTune 2 years ago
Thanks!
The word for thank you is Irayo.
One way to respond to ngaru lu fpom srak (how are you?) is
kame ngat(i) (I don't know why the i is dropped, but i heard Dr. Frommer answer this question himself and he definitely dropped the i.
kame ngat is short for oel ngati kame (I see you)

Thanks for your comment. I'll try but it takes a lot of time that I don't have right now. When things clear up I might give it a try.

Whenever you can is cool... the language was created recently so i dont think it needs to be rushed
