  • Pretty cool. I wish they made futuristic robots

  • Amazing

  • I THINK MASTER CHIEF APPROVES!

  • This is an amazing piece of technology. All the intricacies are mind blowing. I mean, I've seen a 5 axis CNC machine cut some pretty tough parts but nothing near this intense. I'm not gonna lie..I'm impressed.

  • So, how do you cut out all the HIDDEN areas so to speak? Making this in one piece assumes that you can get to EVERY part of the model, right?

  • @TotalDesignZ The design tool probably knows what can and can't be accessed, and restricts/guides the design.

  • @gideoned :) Bitchin' machine though

  • How long did it take to finish?

  • @htoOofe2990 totally agree with you bro

  • ... I want to wear that o.o just once.

  • puta que pariu... fodástico...

  • I have one of these that does microscale milling at my lab. I have no idea how to use the 5-axis shit though, that would require some pretty intense software.

  • @funktapus also impressive coding, not every guy can do that, thats why you get paid more .

  • @mgtully haha exactly. Everyone here is to pussy to try it.

  • Precision - made in Germany

  • 5 axis? It looked like that machine had at least eight to me. Pretty impressive level of detail.

  • holy shit the brains that programed the machine to do this ... :D

  • I'm sold. How much do I get a 5-axis machine for?

  • Old Skool production. Future is nano. 3D is a stepping stone to it

  • ...nice..but the tool does not touch the surface!!!!

  • Speachless... I can't find the title of the first tune. Anyone can help ?

  • And thus terminator begins.

  • please make master cheif helmet

  • So where was the cooling and lubricating fluid?

  • @bucsboy2003 The interior of the cabinet is temperature controlled depending on the material being machined. Also, the type of aluminum being worked as well as it's large mass would both make dissipating the heat generated very quick and easy. Radiators are made from aluminum for this property, it dissipated heat very efficiently.

If they were milling steel there would be fluid involved, i imagine the machine is equipped for this.

  • imagine the defense a helmet like this will give

Add some Visors and you have yourself one hardcore helmet

  • most expensive helmet

  • sure it's neat but it's not neat that it takes days to make a single item and the machine costs a shitload of money

  • @DanFrederiksen - it might not make sense to make "one-off's", but this degree of complexity and high quality finish means they have an easy ability to make aluminum molds for doing production runs of cast/molded pasts.

  • @toybuilder I know it has a use. I'd just like it cheaper and faster.

I think 3D printing will replace CNC

  • Now we just need to use his technology to create a gundam.

  • SUBARASHI! how can 8 ppl hate this?

  • Imagine programming this beast...

  • I image it accepts CAD and other 3D formatted files as input. It's probably not quite as complicated as you might think.

    Not saying it's super-easy either...

  • @opennewscast I think it's more complicated actually, compared to a regular 3D printer. Since a 3D printer prints each layer individually for every layer there really is no complication in "how" something should be built. In something like this, I would think that it would have to be carefully planned out how something would be made; for example, how big would one of those tools it is using have to be to cut inside the helmet without bumping the outside? Stuff like that isn't in 3d Printing.

  • Dear Santa...

  • Impressive. Most impressive.

  • That is one expensive ornament

I watched the TV program that showed this movie and people were so surprised about it. This proved the quality of product that is made in Japan.

  • Helmet for T1000?

  • What was the cutting time for this piece?

  • @sjalex76 150 hours milling time. the website is in the description.

  • Would it ever be advantageous to wear a helmet made out of aluminum?

  • @samisyosam tinfoil, would be better

  • but did not show how much time it was occupied and how many time they have to change the heads

  • Comment removed

  • @MrKukil who cares about that? everyone knows every machine needs 2 or 3 people to run them. Even a lathe needs 1 guy to change the tools/cutters around. This is just to demonstrate how advanced CNC machines are now a days. There are no machines in that world that are not occupied by a human

  • @connell256 once an advanced CNC machine is setup, there is no human interaction, it can switch the tools by itself, and with the right authorization, turn itself on and off, turn coolant on and off, and other features normally run by a human.

  • ok

  • ok

  • one of my family members has a machine like this in him home except it cuts wood not metal

he's rich as fuck and owns a big company

  • @bernie23232323232323 You are 31 and talk like a 12 year old... sad.

  • @TheLifeDegenerator I'm 18, but I could speak English more fluently if you would like.

  • @bernie23232323232323 Oh wow really?

  • Fantastic!!!

  • nossa isso sim que é usinagem.

  • The next gen will be the halo suit. Good job! :D

  • This machine is glorious !

  • So want one of these to hang on my wall :/

  • Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a company that owns this type of machine (or even similar) in the Philippines. I'm an industrial designer who design parts and build prototypes that frequently needed CNC machining services. For now, I need to travel to Hong Kong and China to have the parts done which is costing me more time and money. Can anyone tell me where I can avail such service in the Philippines? Thanks.

  • @rguerzo

  • totally amazing.

1 step closer to halo suit.

  • Love it.

  • @pplpilot

    sry,guessed wrong

  • will that actually be used for a helmet????

  • @chainsawz its a prototype so nope (:

  • One word, wow!

  • It's GLaDOS in it's earliest stages!

  • amazing piece of work there, splendid. We have some similar precision control videos too. You can check ours at youtube searching for abbrobotics

  • I knew the Cylons would be here soon.

  • This is PERFECT for wealthy conspiracy theorists!

  • ( 1:46 ) Reminds me of going to the dentist.

  • how long did it take to cut?

  • The music reminds me of a certain computer game. Which had the same initials as the procedure above. :)

  • technology OF JAPAN IS NO.1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @emdymion7

Especially when using a European machine tool!!! ;)

  • @Distruber

sorry but i have to tell you that MORI SEIKI's are the mercedes-benz of machine tools.

  • @emdymion7 errr no. its a German machine tool programmed with German software....

  • Quem é o representante deste equipamento no Brasil??

  • Que representa este equipamento no Brasil ??

  • Helmet crafted just in time for the latest Power Rangers incarnation.

  • If I had a million dollars, I would pay for this helmet. Even if they only want 50 dollars

  • Cylon factory!

  • quite impressive

  • they're making terminators

  • o.O

  • That's so frickin' awesome...

  • I would use it for motocross, not mtb

  • This is nice and all.. but isn't a helmet made of metal counterintuitive?

  • @WalterSwartz I assume that it has some form of padding inserted inside. So the metal outside absorbs the hard impact against f.x. the road, while the padding inside softens the impact between your head and the helmet

  • @audiophil92 I don't think you're supposed to wear the actual helmet. This is just engineer porn.

  • @audiophil92 are you mental sir? it is a presentation peice for a 50th aniversary its not a working helmet lol

  • It's Shredder's helmet!

  • Nice!

  • nice

  • 7 ppl are worried this is the next Skynet

  • Great to see German & Japanese engineering produce something so cool and useful. Unlike the LAST time they got together when they got a little too...ah.....ambitious

  • That is the coolest fucking helmet I have ever seen

  • @djsuperstar717 hmm if it is a fucking helmet where is the dick ??

  • Great...

  • I wonder how much manual programing was required besides the CAD/CAM system?Though since the helmet wont be mass-produced I guess there was little point in optimizing it...

  • Straight up #Robot #Porn; 5Axis Machining cnc

  • wonderful like a life..

  • good grief. once computers gain conciousness and take controll of these machines, we are all screwed!!

  • how long does it take to write that programm?!

  • stop fkng talking chinese :O

  • wtf it's so cool i want

  • Give me a piece of wood and a knife and I'll make a better one.

  • @Martinolol yeah eay my ass

  • How the hell are they doing this without cutting oil! Are all those bits CBN? I thought that was only a finishing tool.

  • @Knix137 cause its aluminium

  • Wank material at its finest that.

  • what is the cost of that creature ??? anyone ?????

  • @hiluuuuu lots. the cost of that chunk of alloy alone would bring tears through the ducts...

  • Superionr machine. With custom industry hi performace bits and double travel should cut machining time. Superior bit finish indicates problem solving of rapid and multitude overpower movement and manitanence of percision aliment over cycle use time. Japanese engineering first class like public metal 14,000 rpm sportbikes. Cam mapping I feel for this type of cnc may not be difficult in thesis form for specific and resulter. Would like to see fomula modular quick service design

  • @businessdesigner Uhh... What?

  • i need to return the one we got at work for that model cnc. bad ass!

  • That would take foreeeever to machine.

  • SUPER COOL!!!

  • JIMTOF2010、OPEN MIND

  • Freaking awesome helmet...

They switched machines halfway through though.

  • krijg er gewoon een harde van..... :)

  • f...awsome job, helmet bit heavy but great engineering work

  • DECKEL MAHO

    German Technology rules!

  • Wow i want one of those !

THESE DAMN ALIENS WONT READ MY MIND AGAIN !!!

  • this machine is german all the way, its only a japanese comnpany producing these helmets.

  • what was the tool paths programmed with?

  • I wonder: How expensiv would it be to make me a Master Chief Halmet like this? ^^

  • DMG ist a German Company!

  • Japan so advance!

  • Wow! good job!!

  • @1:16 - OMFG!!
