This is an amazing piece of technology. All the intricacies are mind blowing. I mean, I've seen a 5 axis CNC machine cut some pretty tough parts but nothing near this intense. I'm not gonna lie..I'm impressed.
I have one of these that does microscale milling at my lab. I have no idea how to use the 5-axis shit though, that would require some pretty intense software.
@bucsboy2003 The interior of the cabinet is temperature controlled depending on the material being machined. Also, the type of aluminum being worked as well as it's large mass would both make dissipating the heat generated very quick and easy. Radiators are made from aluminum for this property, it dissipated heat very efficiently.
If they were milling steel there would be fluid involved, i imagine the machine is equipped for this.
@DanFrederiksen - it might not make sense to make "one-off's", but this degree of complexity and high quality finish means they have an easy ability to make aluminum molds for doing production runs of cast/molded pasts.
@opennewscast I think it's more complicated actually, compared to a regular 3D printer. Since a 3D printer prints each layer individually for every layer there really is no complication in "how" something should be built. In something like this, I would think that it would have to be carefully planned out how something would be made; for example, how big would one of those tools it is using have to be to cut inside the helmet without bumping the outside? Stuff like that isn't in 3d Printing.
ZIP見ました。泰造さんや出演者が驚いていました。日本製の性能の良さを証明する映像ですね。I watched the TV program that showed this movie and people were so surprised about it. This proved the quality of product that is made in Japan.
@MrKukil who cares about that? everyone knows every machine needs 2 or 3 people to run them. Even a lathe needs 1 guy to change the tools/cutters around. This is just to demonstrate how advanced CNC machines are now a days. There are no machines in that world that are not occupied by a human
@connell256 once an advanced CNC machine is setup, there is no human interaction, it can switch the tools by itself, and with the right authorization, turn itself on and off, turn coolant on and off, and other features normally run by a human.
Thanks for the video. I'm looking for a company that owns this type of machine (or even similar) in the Philippines. I'm an industrial designer who design parts and build prototypes that frequently needed CNC machining services. For now, I need to travel to Hong Kong and China to have the parts done which is costing me more time and money. Can anyone tell me where I can avail such service in the Philippines? Thanks.
@WalterSwartz I assume that it has some form of padding inserted inside. So the metal outside absorbs the hard impact against f.x. the road, while the padding inside softens the impact between your head and the helmet
Great to see German & Japanese engineering produce something so cool and useful. Unlike the LAST time they got together when they got a little too...ah.....ambitious
I wonder how much manual programing was required besides the CAD/CAM system?Though since the helmet wont be mass-produced I guess there was little point in optimizing it...
Superionr machine. With custom industry hi performace bits and double travel should cut machining time. Superior bit finish indicates problem solving of rapid and multitude overpower movement and manitanence of percision aliment over cycle use time. Japanese engineering first class like public metal 14,000 rpm sportbikes. Cam mapping I feel for this type of cnc may not be difficult in thesis form for specific and resulter.
