Pfft, this is nothing impressive or hard to do. One simply can install Compiz and then use VMWare Workstation to emulate Windows. All of this is just a few simple clicks away.

If i have XP, and wanted to try out linux, do i just download ubuntu and install it?

If i dont like it, how do i remove it?

And, can it be XP on 1 username and ubuntu on another?

MrXMGS with only 256 mb of ram you probably cannot run ubuntu w/ compiz fusion but it should be ok with xubuntu try it ;) which video card have you on that pc? search a little bit here on youtube for xubuntu you will see a lot of "not so young" PCs running a fast and stable OS with good graphic effects and all you need for office use and web browsing

the only thing that keeps me trapped in Windows is RAM, the computer that i want to install ubuntu haves only 256MB RAM...
