MetallicA doesn't deserve this list. They aren't metal anymore. They're frauds. Their old stuff was godly, their new stuff is crap. I was kind of sad that there was no Iron Maiden though. SoaD I wouldn't consider metal. It has its own genre. Not sure what it would be, but it has its own. Avenged Sevenfold isn't THAT great...certainly not on par with most of the ones they named. Personally, I love the track listing. Rock on!

i loved the trailer and the gameplay videos i really wanted this game when i first saw them but now i get disappointed... whats with this list?:S brocas helm? crimson glory? so many low rated metal bands and there isnt metallica, iron maiden, avenged sevenfold, slipknot, pantera, slayer, disturbed, system of a down, korn just... what the hell where they thinkin when they added these songs?? -_- good thing there is a lot of judas priest and black sabbath in it at least and some other cool songs

Because there's more to metal than Metallica, if you bother to broaden your taste, just because some of the bands listed in the soundtrack aren't as famous as mainstream "metal" like Metallica, doesn't mean they are inferior. This soundtrack is for the true metal fans. It's about the bands who have passion for metal, not sell out rubbish. And I certainly wouldn't class Slipknot, Avenged & System of a Down as heavy metal.

Even though Iron Maiden is one of the greatest Heavy Metal bands in the world and I personally love them it doesn't really matter that there's no Iron Maiden.

Metalheads and non-Metalheads alike know or heard of Iron Maiden.

I'm grateful for this songlist, I would gladly miss a couple of Iron Maiden songs in a game when that same game introduces me to such great obscure bands as Brocas Helm.

Come on, you may not like their newer stuff (to be fair, The Black Album is a good hard rock album, just not a metal album) but if you don't think Master of Puppets is one of the greatest metal records of all time then you don't know shit.

As for the exclusions, I believe I read that Schafer picked them, so he probably picked more on personal taste than trying to fit every significant metal record in there.
