I've been going to the gym for only 3 months now. I fully believe in traditional weight training and cardio, but I'm adding kettle bells to the mix. Just bought a 25lb kettle bell yesterday
Pavel's DVD (Enter the Kettlebell) changed my life. I rehabilitated my broken spine, lost 40 lbs of fat and got in the best shape of my life...at 40. Thanks Pavel.
@bunksbunks Well I re-attached my severed head, lost 120 kilos of fat, gained 120 kilos of muscle, added 3 inches to my already 9 inch penis, , gained 1 foot in height, made out with Shakira and Beyonce at the same time, developed a free and non-polluting alternative to oil, re-started the world economy, bombed Greece off the face of the planet, discovered faster than light travel, and I can touch my toes with straight legs without warming up.
@jecnunez Bench pressing is only good if you want to enter bench pressing competitions. Otherwise, they just tighten up your shoulders and make you look like a Gorilla. I'd rather have strong and agile hips and core than big and tight man boobs.
@TheJungleCook i better have both, agile hips and core and muscle chest, you can achieve that without kettlebell, with squats, deads, bench.....stop thinking your training is ultimate exercise kettlebell wankers..........i like kettlebell but i hate all weak fat kettlebell wankers always hating on people who do weightlifting......
@jecnunez I used to agree, but have gained much more flexibility, stability, explosiveness, stamina and whole body coordination with kettlebells than any amount of barbell squats, deadlifts, and bench could teach me. That being said I think both powerlifting and kettlebell training are excellent tools to develop overall fitness
No, actually (and this is a powerlifter talking even!) it's one of the best things you can do! This is why Russia and every other country has kicked the SHIT out of us in sports! American "psysiology" and every other joke being taught (up until recently) in this country is pathetic. We are but morons compared to these guys. World records are now being broken using the knowledge these guys all but threw away 50 + yrs ago!
what's your experience with training nonamerican or nontraditionally? im starting to try to throw everything ive learned out the window and adapting this type of training.
that's not ballistic stretching at 3:30 - 'ballistic' implies that you're using momentum to stretch, there was no momentum at all it was very slow and gentle
barbell squat and deadlift for me......

@TheJungleCook They give you tight shoulders and make you look like a gorilla only if you don't know how to bench and don't do any back work.

No spite, he is great...however the ballistic stretching in 3:30 is a no-no in exercise physiology.
