  • Thanks a bunch for this tutorial, i'll be making this tommorrow, or atleast TRY and finish this tommorrow, i have everything for it, spare pieces, spare cube, and tools, hooray.

  • stick to the sticker video you suck

    signed,

    your mom

  • blah...blah...blah...WHACK OFF

  • so im making my own

  • you can get one for a dollar at a dollar store or somewhere if you r lucky

they call it a magic cube

  • mefferts sells those now

  • would a junior hacksaw do for trimming the pieces?

  • radial circumference of a rubik's cube =D

  • 0:56 whack off

  • what did u do to the mini cube idont understand what to do to it

  • what do you use to cut?

  • i did it! i popped the top and the little stub off the corner piece go me! :D i thought i was gunna break it

  • okay i stand corrected, i cut the corner stubby thing off and a piece broke off =[[ oh well :D i got mah handy dandy putty at hand

  • is it ok if the arch is BIGGER than the core structure?

  • yes, it's ok for the arch to be bigger, but if the arch is too big then it will tend to expose the inner mechanism during mid-rotation. If you're ok with that then yes, it's fine.

  • Can you do me a favor? can you just respond to this with a shopping list of EVERYTHING required for this build? Thanks a lot. Also, I was wondering if you would do a 3x3x2 or Domino build tutorial...

    THANKS AGAIN!!!

  • The entire video series will include everything needed to make a slim tower start to finish. And I believe the video itself contains the recipe as well. Tool-wise you can use whatever similar implements you may have from watching the videos. As for the Domino, I do get this question a lot and the answer is no, I have no plans for such a tutorial. My specific tricks for that aren't really good for a tutorial.

  • hey Jin at 3:23 does it have to be a perfect circle or can it be more of an oval?

  • It does not have to be a perfect circle, no. However an oval is not quite the right shape either. It's not something I can easily describe with words but a circle can be traced inside. Too much of an oval cut would expose the inside as the puzzle went along a 90 degree length-wise slice. Try taping your pieces together and simulate such a slice to know the limit of how much you can cut. Ideally you make as much room inside without exposing the internals when the puzzle slices.

  • okay thank you. I have made it and the internals can be seen but not by much so i will fill it and then paint it black so it will look nicer.

  • I know another way!

  • I know several ways! But this is the classic "Fisher" method and a great way to get into serious puzzle modding.

  • how much would u say this cost with all the supplies and tools?

  • I'm going to estimately conservatively here. $10 for a keychain. $10 for the 3x3x3. $3 for the 5 minute epoxy. $16 for enough black Apoxie Sculpt for 30+ puzzles. About $30 in consumable material. Then there's the non-consumables like the cutters (about $15), a craft knife (about $5) and optionally a Dremel (about $60). And some post-it notes (about $5-8 worth). The puzzles and epoxy you'll be buying frequently, the rest are almost one-Time expenses.

  • thx

  • great vid very descriptive and i was wondering of you could elaborate on the corners a little bit thiugh and if you are playing on making these for ne other of your custom builds

  • All will be revealed in Time.

  • beautiful Jin! thanks very much.

  • sweeet will build thx man

  • what u mean part 2? i cant find it. also.. how do the pieces attach?

  • The core is a 30mm 3x3x3 keychain cube per the twistypuzzles article I mentioned in the first half of part one. Part 2 should come along in the next day or three.

  • what type of 3x3 keychain is that i have some rubiks cube brands and the core is jjust like a regular cube.. that one lookks weeird

  • The core has already been modified to fit inside the Slim Tower. Details about the core will be discussed in a future video.

  • thank you for this, but don't you mean, less than 8.5 mm?

  • its 9.5 duu, anyway, great VID!! awsome ive been wonderign if i shud make it liek that or with a keychain cube this seems much simpler :) is that core fro ma eastsheen 2x2 keychain? awsommee

  • yea, its 9.5, and kingeek, when do you go off of your period?
