  • another guy eranhardt almost killed

  • @99boyz Yup, Earnhardt was a bully at best, a shitbag at worst. And NASCAR wants to hold him to some kind of paragon of virtue. The story arc of NASCAR will not improve as long as they hold Dale Sr. as a capable driver.

  • one of the few reasons i didnt like dale earnhardt.

  • ERNIE IRVIN WINS AND RUSTY SPINS, boy I love that line

  • He does a rhymer Ervin wins! And Rusty Wins LOL

  • This Changed The Sport Forever By Putting Roof Flaps So Cars Would Not Go That High

  • I want to see guys flip more often

  • At least he was awarded 6th

  • sigh i miss that kind of racing now its just a big show

  • OMG, That was a bad crash, That's good he's was ok.

  • Oh My god...

  • todays cars look like boxes, and there slow and heavy as hell

  • Does anyone remember Earnhardt crying in an interview after this because he thought he killed Rusty ?

  • Cars looked better than today's cars.

  • Forgot how good SS racing was back in the 90s. Quite a finish! Back before all the shark fins, winglets, splitters, and crap.

  • I was just running on NR2003 at basically this version of Talladega (the 70s-80s track for those familiar). With the Aero88 mod the racing is EXACTLY like this pretty much, it's so much fun. I wish NASCAR Would go back to something like this.

  • dang...i wish I was born earlier to see the nascar of the past......today if they rub the wall thay count that as a huge death defing crash........

  • I wish they had the on-board camera from that green car at 1:08.

  • The fiercest friendly rivals in sports history, Dale Earnhardt and Rusty Wallace. Incredible racers.

  • what year was this?

  • @senchele 1993..that was a crazy year at Talladega...This race had this finish and the other race had a car fly over the turn one wall and roll all the way down the banking.

  • O sry 6th

  • @lastride337 1980's

  • And ended up finishing like 7th

  • Classic Dale Sr.

If ya can't pass 'em, take 'em out.

  • I KNOW THIS OBSERVATION WILL GET GROWLS AND HOWLS.....BUT REALLY..I USED TO BE INTO RACING IN THE 90S....BUT THESE DAYS AND AFTER SEEING ALL THE DEATHS AND WRECKS,,,,,I THINK ITS JUST SILLY TO GO OUT THERE AND BE OBCESSED WITH WINNING RACES.....A BAD HABIT OR BAD MINDSET TO GET INTO....SAME GOES WITH A LOT OF OTHER THINGS HUMANS DO.

  • @1IIIIIIIIII1 Thanks for your commentary, Capt. CAPSLOCK.

  • Comment removed

  • Earnhardt hit him so hard his front end came up, surprised he didn't have a blowover.

  • i forgot how exciting nascar use to be

  • bob jenkins with the classic call to the finish

"Ernie Irvan wins and Rusty Wallace flips and gets airborne! And flips wildly at the start/finish line very reminiscence of his accident....at Daytona.

  • @cookieboy17 I am confuses, he says ''At Daytona'' but isnt the race at Talladega?

  • @TheHoodedCreature It is Talladega but he's referring to the 1993 Daytona 500 when Rusty Wallace flipped over

  • Jeff Gordon was in victory lane as they were still racin lolol :D

  • Boy do i miss the days of earnhardt and wallace trading paint.

  • man o' man! ...god, i miss BP! i remember watching this race. rusty finishing 6th after not having anything of a car left lmao... that's awesome! gotta love this old style plate racing. i hate this new crap

  • "Ernie Irvan wins and Rusty spins, and gets airborne!" I'll never forget that call.

  • god i wish i could have seen all the old nascar races, this shit is ridiculus, todays nascar is so weak, nobody can even make contact without damaging their car

  • i love how the ambulance almost spins out

  • that is how to finish like a baws!

and ofc some shit happens with mark martin and he loses his potential win >.< he really cant catch a break

  • Rusty blocked Martin into the damn wall, dumbass.

  • i miss the old days of nascar :(

  • He came 6th! :D

  • i really miss benny parsons on tv man he was good

  • Is it just me, or were accidents like this one scarier than the accidents today due to lack of safety back then. Nowadays a hard crash happens or a flip and everybody acts like it's no big deal. Fact is Racing is still a dangerous sport. Dont kid yourselves.

  • i can under stand that the roof flaps are to stop flips like tht but i loved to see flips like this. ik they still happen but just not as often.

  • i pull for newman nowadays, but when RUSTY was in the game, he was my guy! his MGD thunderbird was my favorite car . i mean, the blue duece is good lookin, and Earnhardts Lumina was SCARY,,, but i love the black n gold... !!! thank god he was ok here,it was an UGLY Wreck!

  • @IRONSEAN7 me too, when Wallace retired, I figured I'd go for Newman, a very humble and likeable guy.

  • Boohoo. Nostalgia nostalgia bitch bitch bitch. If people don't like tandem racing, that's fine. That's your opinion. But don't act like Nascar sucks now just because blue collar middle school dropouts aren't the ones racing in it. I've been a fan since the early 90s and yeah, this was a good finish. But for every one of these races there were 20 or 25 a year where 5 or 6 cars finish on the lead lap. Nascar is more driver-skill based now than ever and there's more parity than ever. Get over it.

  • @BrodieBruce16 What's wrong with being blue collar??

  • dale earnhardt gone but never forgotten (3)

  • That's a good way to finish 6th. lol

  • Now THAT is how you call a race. Bob, Ned and Benny were the best.

  • seriously tho, me and pops can bareley watch anymore : (

its just not as good as the winston cup days.

check out the top 10-15 names in this race : ) its even ok to see jeffy : )

  • i remember watching this with my dad i was ten.

    we love awesome bill!

even so i still had to like sr.

but so many of these insodents involve him, def had the karma to go out the way he did : /

i think thats the way he (sr.) planed it.

  • Earnhardt was a dirty MF that wasn't a mistake he wanted to do that.

  • back when you could win the race with a good car by itself and you didn't need a tag team partner the whole race

  • Rusty: Where's my car go?

  • i miss nascar of the 80's and 90's, nascar today is more a reality show then racing, its sad to see nascar go from the good ol boys to a bunch of young snot nose punks who care more about there commercials then racing

  • Thank god we got roof flaps nowadays

  • Yeah what a story for Rusty. Lol I can see him saying, "I finished 6th standing on my nose. The grass looked pretty nice until it flipped my car about 10 times." haha

  • dude... you could see his head he had no roof!

  • I'm not saying anything against the guy... but magically it's always Earnhardt's fault for crashes!!!! >:0

  • all the millions of dollars they pour into these cars today trying to make racing more exciting and this race was far more exciting that this 2 car bull shit we see at daytona and talledega now.

  • @outdoorsman767 im with you man the two car draft is so boring to watch, i wanna see all the cars together again like they used to race

  • Just take off all the restrictor plates. The cars aren't even stock anymore anyway. Who cares what they do to the cars, I though Nascar was about going fast and hitting each other. While it may not be my type of racing, it was still worth watching up until just a few years ago when i gave up on it and stopped watching it altogether.

  • @lemans24fan except this clip

  • @outdoorsman767 talladega was fine just 3 years ago

  • @jaqua524 tallasnooza and gaytona were never good

  • @outdoorsman767

The problem is the bumpers. I guarantee you the problem is there. Jack the bumper up a couple of inches, and the bumpers can't align like they do. Have that, and they can't push one another in the corners like they do right now, and you can't bumpdraft as hard down a straight.

  • Comment removed

  • @theMstanglover i'm sorry, i didn't realize i wasn't state my opinion on a public forum. i never said the racing was terrible, i said they wasted money. why fix something if it isn't broke

  • @outdoorsman767 Sorry, the comment was over the line. I'll remove it.

  • Not everyday you cross the finish line with your ass first.

  • the whole reason why they invented the modern day roof flap

  • Sr. has reached God-like status now, but in life he had some moments that were awfully hard to be proud of.....

  • This is how Nascar should be, not the watered-down version it is now.

  • i definitely agree with you now there a fake trashy version of what they used to be

  • @obxbumm1992

Yeah, it was awesome when the drivers were killed much more often. That was REAL Nascar.

  • @obxbumm1992 its still that way

  • @obxbumm1992 if nascar was still like this then the dumbass government would stop it if nascar didnt shut it down themselves first.

  • @obxbumm1992 I agree! The restrictor plate races sucked this year...Not nearly as exciting...

  • @obxbumm1992 so you want ppl flipping at 200 mph?... ok...

  • @obxbumm1992 You try saying that if you had to drive those things. The drivers risk their lives and it's all for entertainment. Safety MUST play a big part in motorsport. Think of it as being safer, not watered-down. You don't want to see people dying out on track (well i hope not)

  • @obxbumm1992 Ask Rusty how he feels about flipping end over end for your entertainment pleasure.

  • @obxbumm1992 i completely agree with you, but if it wasn't for the safety precautions we take now by restricting racing like this, its more likely for drivers to get hurt or even killed

  • Met his son at a Military camp once. He was a douche. Like father, like son.

  • Another fine driving lesson from Earnhardt

  • I just knew now that Dale Earnhardt clipped him.

  • man watching this makes todays stupid two car packs look awful. just look at the way those cars are bouncing around, on the edge of out of control. thats how racing at talladega and daytona should be

  • @MassillonJoe yeah, like it was 3 years ago

  • i really miss these old broadcasts

  • Earnhardt always tried to kill the opponent.

  • @laford6 fuck u he was the best driver and he was trying to draft him

  • @8435tly If he was the best driver and he was drafting, he sure sucked at it then Ahole.

  • @laford6 I hate how someone makes a joke now, and someone gets all worked up over it...

Stupid people. (Funny joke BTW, xD)

  • @WolfEverstone Lots of idiots out there. Glad you're one of the goodguys!

  • fucking earnhardt

  • @masterbasser24 fuck u he was the best driver and he was trying to draft him

  • @8435tly yeah, i'll bet he was trying to draft terry labonte at bristol too lol

  • What year was this? I have a #4 Kodak Ernie Ervin Lumina toy from when I was like...7? He was my favorite driver even though he didn't do too great in his later years.

  • Man, Dale mugged him.

  • BLABLABAWABAWABLABLAWAWAWAWA....... at daytona...

  • @MikeSkanz

    Get your ears cleaned out.

  • one of the greatest calls in nascar history.....

  • ouch

  • Back when Nascar was was worth watching.

  • I remember as an 11 year old kid crying after this wreck. I thought there was no way Rusty survived. 17 years later looking back on this crash, it was much worse than the Elliot Sadler and Carl Edwards and Tony Stewart crashes. The momentum before roof flaps made the cars tumble much faster. The modern day flips are slower and more of a force disappating roll. This was just brutal. This one, Davy Allison's crash and Geoff Bodine's crash.... good god.

  • @coalreigoncoalcracke you could see him moving around like 3 seconds have the car comes to a stop....

  • @coalreigoncoalcracke but even so, i get you.... there was a lot of brutal crashes back in the day, cant forget Ricky Rudd at Daytona, or earlier this same year Rusty in the 500....

With that though i would put Carl Edwards 09 Dega crash up there with them...

  • crazy

  • i remember this wreck...man, that was aweful..i was nervous all rrace, hoping to get thru the race, after the daytona 500, i felt scared..coming to the checkered I was thrilled. then next thing i remember i was in the air and flipping and bouncing...ban guys, this was the worst wreck of my life

  • I don't understand way people liked Earnhardt. He was a dirty driver. If someone wrecked him they get in troble, but if he wreck them then it's ok, just like when he wrecked Terry Labonte at Bristol in 1999, he should have been black flagged. But know they couldn't do that, don't want to piss off the rednecks that love him. Pothetic.

  • @rjl1184 Ok then why do you like Wallace? Unlike the Intimidator, Rusty didn't win 7 championships. He didn't have to run 20 races to get his first Daytona 500 win. And what's pathetic is that you can't spell pathetic !

  • God Bless the man who invented the roll cage!!!!

  • If Snr was still around he'd be a Rowdy fan :)

*ducks the beer cans thrown at him....

  • NOW THAT IS THE MAN IN HIS PRIME! GOING TO ANY LENGTH TO TRY AND WIN.

  • Damn you RICKY BOBBY!!

  • wow, earnhardt was a dick..

  • Earnhardt was the MAN!!!!!

  • pause @ 1:23

  • Thye simply don't race like this anymore, classic nascar.

  • Earnhardt got taken to school on that last lap by about 5 drivers and got pissed and took it out on Rusty! I still hate him. The dirtiest driver in Nascar history

  • @Beavis2828 hate is an aweful word to use on a 2nd heneration driver who has won more races than anyone in nascar history. he wasnt dirty. He NEVER tried to wreck anyone and he was a GOOD person. How dare you disrespect a wonderful man like Uncle Dale

  • @Linzspat92 Let me give you a little Nascar History 101 lesson. Earhardt is SEVENTH on the all-time wins list with 76 victories. Not first. He is looking up at names like: Jeff Gordon (82), Cale Yarborough (83), Darrell Waltrip (84), Bobby Allison (84), David pearson (105), and Richard Petty (200). And if you take away wins Big E received after he should've been black flagged for rough driving, his total would be much much lower.

He didn't have to wreck Rusty in this race. He just DID. JERK!

  • @Beavis2828 ok nascar would not be half as interesting without rough drives! And he's only 7th right now because he's DEAD! He didn't try to wreck Rusty at all! and if anything the fact that rusty walace ended up being the cause of Dale's death should make u happy enough to shut your disrespectful mouth! now unlike most nascar drivers, dale was a generous man who cared about all his fans and everyone in between.

  • @Beavis2828 Exactly lol he always raced dirty

  • this time period is the frickin GOLDEN AGE

  • this time period is the frickin GOLEDN AGE

  • what a brutal finish

  • Dame that was sweet.

  • I miss the days whe the sheet meta the tires and the axle would fly of the cars now it is not as fun.

  • Pshh why did NASCAR have to change cars? these old things were safe enough :D its the hans device that they needed and that's it.

  • NASCAR is for rednecks. "HEY MA! LOOK AT THEM DANG OL' CARS GO ROUND AND ROUND IN THEM DANG OL' CIRCLES" wooooo exciting....

  • @mortraven626 you sir, are retarded.

  • @mortraven626 You are retarded

  • What comes around goes around

  • another driver earnhart almost killed

    He was dirtty

  • Awesomest 6th place finish EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Finished nose down backwards

  • Awesomest 6th place finish EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • at least he didnt get a dnf lol

  • not trying to overlook the fact that rusty was close, but the rescue crew had a kind of drift going getting to him lol

  • ....good old days..... wish Dale was still here....we have missed lots of good racin

  • this was the good racing

  • The good thing about this is this is the wreck that lead to the development of roof flaps.

  • @day500champ08 I dont think so. The safer the cars get, the more BORING NASCAR has become. This is when the men were men and the sheep were nervous.

  • Hey, surprise surprise! Earnhardt causes yet another wreck!

  • EARNIE IRVIN!

  • that looks awfully like ricky rudds crash if u look at it.

  • Dale Earnhardt must have been really good. He ran out of gas when he was in 7th, but managed to finish 4th! lol Ned Jarrett is silly.

  • RUSTY SUCKS

    LOL

  • @xoxobubblegum123 RUSTY DOES NOT SUCK HE WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE DRIVERS SINCE I WAS 6 i was crying when this happened on the final lap my mom had 2 cheer me up that day >:(

  • Rusty Wallace stopped racing a long time ago sucks he was good too not as good as Dale or Richard Petty but had his moments

  • Am I the only one that noticed that one of the commentators said Daytona when Rusty wrecked?

  • @EarnhardtJrFan4Life Yeah because that same year Rusty flipped at Daytona and he was saying that it looked the same, (obviously i didnt use the same words as the commentator used)

  • @EarnhardtJrFan4Life he said "reminiscent of his wreck at Daytona" Rusty had a similar wreck in the Daytona 500 that season where his car flipped and barrel-rolled down the back stretch.

  • Comment removed

  • wow 9 flips

  • the truck at 1:20 should be in tokeyo drift lol

  • "Ernie Irvan and Rusty Spins" lol wonder if he thought of that earlier and saved it for when it accually happened

  • The silverado does a little tailspin at 1:21. Nice.

  • This video is a great example of why I hated Dale Sr! If you can't beat 'em WRECK 'EM!!!!

  • now these guys new how to call a race, they need to bring them back. RIP BENNY!

  • You know its a bad crash when after it you can't tell the back of the car to the front.

  • that rescue truck gets loose a bit on the grass

  • dale must have been pissed leading at the white flag then not winning it

  • Although it wasn't shown here, it was classy of Earnhardt to check up on Rusty post-crash. That was a classic example of a restrictor-plate crash, and I don't think the roof-flaps (implented the year after) would have stopped it.

  • If NASCAR had just finished this race under caution, Sr would've won it & Rusty's broken wrist wouldn't have happened but he wanted to race for it, before they restarted he was a healthy 2nd, i think he ended up busted up in 6th...

  • did he finish 6th or 7th? I can't tell

  • I miss the old ESPN coverage with Bob, Ned, and Benny

  • @bryanswafford yep i am with you....i can't deal with digger and crank it up anymore!!

  • i seess saw ss see his head moving around in the car do you see it

yes yes we do calm down

  • now this is how nascar should be hard racin in packs without idiots wreckin all the time

  • GO EARNHARDT!

  • @EarnhardtGamer

screw that pos dirty driver... this vid is proof

  • I like that he was aggressive but people should remember some of the things he did as wrong and wreckless in the kind of way that would not be tolerated in todays racing, He could have killed rusty in this time period just cause he wanted to finish one position higher, sad that ppl reminisces over things like this

  • @backlinelover what's sad is that people's memories of how Earnhardt really raced were forgotten after the crash at Daytona. Sure he was ONE of the greats, but he wasn't THE best. He wasn't Richard Petty. People praise him for doing things like this but they'll turn around and bitch if a driver today does half that, unless it's Jr.

  • Richard is the king as far as history is concerned but there have been alot of racers who could have been as good who knows if junior johnson or Fireball Roberts had kept racin or if mario had stayed with nascar how many champs he would have had, same with Allen Kuwiky, Davey Allison and Tim RICHMOND Earnhardt would have three or four at the most if those drivers had lived.

  • @backlinelover its spelled Alan Kulwicki

  • indimidator strikes again

  • ps3 rocks too.
