  • believe it's call Honolulu Blue...pretty sure its the home colour for the Detroit Lions;

  • It's like an electric blue!

  • are these teisco generally more used for blues sounding music? or do these bad boys have a good crunch to them for hard rock grunge sound tunes?

  • Can Teisco guitars handle bends? I have the tulip model right now and it's hard as hell to do some good bends and vibratos Xp

  • don't know where ernie ball music man got the idea for the albert lee signature model from.

  • Anyone know how much a Teisco EP-1T is worth? I own one and can't find it online...

  • It´s very nice guitar and sound is bright.

  • Is that guitar really small or is Dave a giant?

  • Is that guitar really small or is Dave a giant?

  • Is that a really small guitar or is Dave a giant?

  • I remember these so well. A store in my town used to sell these. They had one that had 4 pickups. I think they only cost a couple of hundred dollars but back in the 60's that was a lot of money. It kind of sounds like a Strat and I think some bands in our area did use these for Surf Music.

  • oh....my god I want to get one of those and just make it play so well

  • love this guitar

  • Its "blue," I think.

  • teisco guitars could also be found at dept stores throughout the seventies

  • wow cool guitar... are these short-scale or normal scale? man you seem to have lotsa fun and joy playing this one!

  • Damn it!! My stupid aunt owns one of these in sunburst (but a KL-3 with 3 pickups)

And she f**ling denies to give it to me. Instead it's rotting on the attic...

  • @Raunchola offer to pay? i dont think its fair to expect it for free

  • @ArchieIsted

    c'mon it's my aunt! :)

And furthermore she's completly unable to play. She only bought it back in the 60s to hang it on the wall for decades! And now it is abandoned on the attic. :(

  • @Raunchola steal it then :L

  • Can you do a setup video of this guitar I have one and I really want to repair it and set it up

  • Those pickups kinda remind me of Kurt Cobains acoustic performance

  • Granted, I am not a good player like you but my dad had one. The neck felt like a log and no matter what I did, change strings or adjust the action, it felt as though I was strumming steel bars.

  • my god you fucking rock Dave!

  • looks like lake placid blue to me

  • Dude, if it's in that great of condition, you don't need to baby it.

  • Thank God he didn't use the Line 6 for this one.

  • wth... that guitar is so thin, AWESOME!

  • i would play that every day.

  • Hey, I love your demo videos. I just listed one of these exact guitars on ebay. I hope you don't mind if I link to you! And that lovely color is Lake Placid Blue. Also, check my videos, I build some pretty cool Vintage style tube amps and have some demos here on youtube. BluesWilliam

  • kurt broke one on stage

  • You really ought to play first and talk later.

  • like [P.B.T.] videos - PLAY before talk)))

  • farout teisco "sharkfin" guitar man.

  • Drop a Floyd in that thing.

  • Blasphemer!

    :)

Those Teisco tremolos stay in tune VERY well if you set them up correctly...plus you can bend chords sharp, there's so much charm in some of those Teiscos with those tremolos.

Teisco kicks ass over anything else for the price.I paid 130 for one that llokls like a 2 pickup sunburst strat BUT with mahogany neck and thin resonant body just a couple days ago...can't wait to get it.

  • I was just kidding.

  • Good because I'd cry if I ever saw anybody mount a Floyd on there.

In my defense for taking you seriously there are plenty of people out there more than willing to wreck a great thing with modern tackiness.

  • I think it looks pretty cool.

  • i got same guitar same color but a silvertone with the stripes

GREAT guitar I traded a squeir strat for it on craiglist the guy was asking 500$

    it was awsome deal

  • @MIchigan4x4 Hell yes!

  • too bad that guitar doesn't look as good as it sounds.

  • I HAVE A FENDER MUSTANG THAT COLOR.

  • reissue?! ive gotta know where to get one! :)

  • Just get an original one it will be cheaper

  • @kujoalt

if you want a reissue, the Eastwood Ichiban guitar looks almost exactly the same, and plays pretty similar too. It has mini humbuckers but still has a close sound.

  • yeah, gud stuff..i hav Teisco too..mine is sunburst n born in 1964..n still in gud working condition, yup, bright sound n really nice vintage axe..cheers

  • dude is rambling in and until 2:50 and more

    whaat?!

  • I have one of these same color, but the super deluxe version. Its pretty rad its like that think but on steroids.

    Search teisco et-460

  • It's called a bigsby

  • that is the farthest thing from a bigsby, thats like calling a kahler a floyd rose

  • wrong agian :(

  • thats not a bigsby, if you think it is your fucking stupid

  • sorry i misread your comment I thought you said it was kahler and i was like woah what the crap is he on i don't often double check stuff. yeah i don't think its a bigsby but I'm still fucking stupid

  • it was all just a big misunderstanding lol, doesnt make you fucking stupid, my apology

  • i really like how the pickups sound :)

  • Nice for a video clip with a Corvette Stingray in the same colour.

  • first I READ TESCO guitar,,, XD Tesco Value Guitar LOL

this is a great guitar though slim body:D

  • get some tone

  • blue cian

  • 3:48 reminded me of good riddance

  • I remeber James Iha using one of these:) I always loved the look of it, probley my favorite of his next to the flying v and sunset.

  • K Mart sold these for about $60 in '66. Check out their value today! Holy smokes. I've owned nearly all Dave's showing in the Sears catologue. Man, I wish I still had them.. not just to profit by either. Some of them were truly awesome playing guitar and really simple to set up. Japan produced the highest quality electronics and optical in the world in the sixties. I see some bash this stuff.. HA! Listen to it! Standing ovations with THESE VERY GUITARS! LOL What a trip! So cool.. Yeah Baby

  • It sounds like a Gretsch to me, really cool.

I'd love to see you review a Travis Bean guitar Dave

  • the name of the colour is cyan :)

  • There's one of these on Ebay at the moment. The asking price is 1700.00 sterling. Very cool, but not that cool.

  • that guitar sounds good and looks cool

  • So very cool, I have that exact guitar. Mine has 4 pick-ups and Its sounds great, I don't have the teisco logo or the whammy bar. I think they call it a Shark Fin!

  • what a great guitar you have

  • Its a light lacid blue

  • the color is like a turqoise

  • i have a del-ray

  • does someone from teisco work in schecter?

cause some of those guitars in the catalog looked an awful lot like the schecter avenger

  • im really interested in that hollowbody guitar right over your right shoulder. is that a gibson? how would it sound with overdrive?

  • either a gibson or a gretsch

  • in wich song from smashing pumpkins was this guitar used?

  • not sure if it was used in any recordings, but in the video for "Rocket" James Iha is playing one. Also there is a picture in the Pisces Iscariot album where he is holding one.

  • Rocket

  • 2:48 on the catalog 5th from the top is my guitar.

  • the little sunburst?

  • Nice vid. But a bit too long for my opinion...

  • I love that guitar

  • i liked how he sed take care it brightened me up

  • i have a one pickup teisco del rey '67... it's not so bright, and the actions a bit weird, not high but it feels diffirent, but the unique sound is awesome. Not for any kind of shredders, but a badass tone.

  • Help! I can't stop talking, nothing to say so I just talk about what's in my hands at the moment.

  • hes doing a review you idiot

  • and a good one

  • I like him and the other Good People. They really breathe out the fun of playing.

  • I remember seeing these in pawnshops for fifty bucks back before the vintage guitar craze hit in the early 90s

  • yeah,i hear ya...

  • For a moment, I thought Dave was going to say: "We know it's early 60s because it says 1962 right here" :)

  • haha

  • i want a guitar like that O_O

  • To get the best out of a Teisco you need to add a fair bit of overdrive and echo/reverb.

Type in "Teisco blues" and see what you get.

  • hey just a small request here but can you reveiw the jem? lol not to small expensive guitar lol

  • They have a nice tone.

  • feels like a bit of a waste of an instrument if the collecter hasnt played them in a while.

  • I think James Iha from Smashing pumpkins had one. He has a strange guitar in a picture from pisces iscariot and i think it's one like this.

  • I see that kind of blue called 'Lake Placid Blue'. Cool video man!!

  • tescios ar realatively cheap but play awesome

  • I just love the tone of this guitar ... preciousss :D

    rOcK oN

  • that guitar is ugly as hell

  • looks like schecter had some influences from teisco guitars like the one at the top left conrner looks like an avenger or the syn custom. body and headtock wise the shape really looks the same of those models

  • the teisco kl2 is awesome

  • I love this guy hes amazing....great videos as always.

  • the guitar looks like a fish to me

  • thats a nice guitar

  • Could you some videos on amps, like a Mesa vs a Marshall, or something like that

  • amp videos coming soon - please stay tuned

    rock on!

    DT

  • What? He didn't play us out? Naw, c'mon.

  • Electron Blue?

  • Dave, you need to put on your burgundy toughskin jeans with double re-enforced knees, and then play the Teisco guitar. Only then, you will find completeness my friend!!

  • That would be a cool guitar to have.

    Rock On

  • i like the headstock 4 on one side 2 on the other

  • about time you said something about the silverface monster . . . . Glad you did it.

    I have same amp . . . lol

  • it looks like james iha's guitar from the video "rocket" by the smashing pumpkins

  • hi Dave!

    Is it the Ramone's guitar?

  • fuck i want that guitar

  • dave its cool to see you just like jam on that guitar at random :) 5 star video !

  • you should do a couple of these videos on some vintage gibsons sg's and les pauls.

  • got a vintage sg and les paul custom coming soon - stay tuned and rock on!

    DT

  • How does it sound dirty?

  • wow cool guitar. xD

  • WOW the tone kicks ass

  • I think it's lake placid blue

  • oo thats niiiiiiiice

  • I had one of those. The most god-awful thing ever called a guitar. Bought it at K-mart. Unplayable. Dave you are a master to get any sound out of it.

  • i love how u tell us who played the guitars and play a nice little lick inbetween.

  • Hi, I have a standard epiphone les paul just upgraded and bought a gibson. The epiphone standard is a great guitar, suffers from some fret buzz on the 20 fret but that can easily be solved. The custom and standard are both great guitars just choose your favourite they play pretty much the same. I upgraded my epiphone with seymour and duncan humbuckers which is something you might want to think about since the stock pickups are very bright.

  • keep it up xD....make more

  • This is such a great idea. I can't wait to see more videos.

  • thats a cool looking blue

  • I don't really like that guitar that much. Finish is over the top beautiful!, but it is so thin and all the robotic design on the tremelo, knobs, etc ruin it for me

  • What a beautiful guitar with sweet tone. Great review. I appreciate the time u put into this

  • Hey! Lol, first >___>

I think I am getting an Epiphone Les Paul this weekend. I want a midrange, what model do you think would be good?

  • i have a custom and i would perfer a standard wich usually costs 300 or get a custom which will cost u around 450 or 500

  • standard is good. my friend has one. its pretty smooth, good playing. ok pickups. he has a goldtop.

my first guitar was the lp-100. not so good. go with the standard. about 5 or 600 dollars.

  • I have a standard ... cost me £320 and well worth it :) good for playing any style of music, really versitile. looks awesome aswel.

  • i have the les paul standard, its a great guitar with alot of tonal options, you get great sounds just by roling back on the tone and volume.

  • 1st comment!

  • wow dude sounds amazing and looks even better.

  • 1st

  • It is nice to see you guys kind of bringing back that old vibe when you enjoyed making vids. For a while there it seemed like you guys were in a rut. Nice to have you back.

  • sounds great

  • great tone!!!!!!!!!!!

  • a truly amazing piece of equipment. THe finish that youre referring to is called "cerulean" blue

  • it sounds good for a little blues

  • Nice Guitar, also beautiful tone

  • very rare guitars and great review

  • hey, ive seen one of these guitars before in a shop located in Northern Virginia. The name of the finish, which looks the exact same as the one I saw, is a "cerulean blue". A beautiful work of art

  • My dad had one!!!!!...he sold it though...

  • Thanks Dave! Great stuff so refreshing to see you enjoy the nostalgia and the music. Thanks for sharing.
