Texas City Dike destroyed by Hurricane Ike

I just came back from Texas city and it was a very beautiful place. Everyone was wonderful and i didn't have to be scared of someone stealing anything. I felt very happy and comfortable.

So far it looks like they aren't helping rebuild the dike... And BTW alot more than the dike was taken. There were houses damaged in Texas City by Ike. But you don't hear about it because Galveston and the dike is all they talk about. My neighbor when I lived there lost everything in one room because the roof caved in. My Aunt in law had a tree IN her house. Sorry I have to laugh about TC beaches being 10X better than galveston. Amatos linehandlers dumps sewage in that water, among others

Thank god i live in Houston.

Nothin happened to my house.

And i am amazed that i slept through hurricane ike the morning after hurricane i woke up i was like

Did the hurricane come yet?

Thanks for posting this footage. HOWEVER , the dike was not destroyed. In this video, it is simply underwater. The structures which were atop the dike were destroyed. The dike, itself, is intact.

There wasn't a real reason to leave. the only things that were taken by Ike were Skyline and the Dike. i live three blocks from Bay Street and the only damage was my front lawn from tree limbs.
