CyberLink PowerDirector 8 - Advanced Editing for Slideshows

I have a question. I have several clips in my project. Lets say I have 6 clips on 2 channels and they are a total of 30 seconds. When I decrease the length of a clip, with for example 3 seconds, all other clips in that channel after that clip moves 3 seconds to the left so the total videolength is now 27 seconds. When i decrease the length of a clip it shouldn't "move" the other clips. How can I do it so no other clips move? Hope someone understands what i mean. Please help.

I am having trouble getting this question answered, so I hope someone c an help me here....

How do I start my main video clip a minute into the movie? I want to let the title screen play, a short slideshow, THEN the main video, but it always snaps back to the very beginning when I try to slide it over to make it start after the title and pic-in-pic slideshow.

Can anyone help?

@lboiv001 First create your title in the Text room, after that take the text clip and drag it into your time line, using the right hand button of your mouse you can lengthen/shorten the duration of your title clip. when you are satisfied with the time clip, you can then drag in your pics into the timeline after your title clip. Just like you did to the title clip, you can as well Shorten/lengthen the duration of your pics clips, then click the MOVIE tab under the preview screen instead of CLIP

@lboiv001 make sure on the preview screen you click on the "movie" tab if you want to play the rest of your slideshow video, if you want to play a single clip, then click "clip"...I hope this helped you

This software is full of fancy stuff but no one ever tried to create a real video with it... the worst is timeline. You won't be able to synchronize audio with video (if you have it separate like music) the timeline won't let do more than order video... this is more like 0.8 beta version of "PowerGlue" full of bugs and annoyances.

I see 44 people liked it and it may be good for the more advanced users but it was far to fast for me as a beginner to keep up with, all of this fellows clips seem to take for granted everyone is as talented has he is. I'm not stupid but if you could slow this guy down from a 78 speed to a 331/3 I may just get the video stuff. Thank you

this is the most fuck fested video editing software available. FREQUEnt crashes. Atleast 5 a day, and guess what it accepts alomst every format. But no try and edit any format except .avi,, guess what? crash!!!

even all avi files wont work, does not let me edit any avi files from fraps.

I created a DVD with this software and when I play it on a standalone DVD player, during a playback (if I want to interrupt it) it does not allow me to go back to the MENU displaying the message PLAYBACK ONLY. Anyone else having this problem? Does anybody know what could be the issue?
