@gobikan22 I got them from Best Buy. for $200. a friend of mine got his from walmart and it was in a red box aswell. My cousin got his from Radio shack and they were also in a red box, same as my uncle, when he got his from the beats by dre website.

The red boxes are produced in China and they would be sold for a few bugs,

They are not made by monster.

But the fake ones have the same sound quality becuese of the sound driver that they have copied from monster. But the big difrences are :

The fake ones doesn't have the heavy bass that the originals do have. ;)

@Rock62100 No. They are not that good at most genres, aggressive genres being on of their weaknesses.

Grado headphones (SR60/SR125/SR225) do this much better, as does the Sennheiser HD 25-1. Grado headphones are always open and thus leaky, the HD 25 is sealed and very isolating. Both cans could use some new cup pads, both are easy to disassemble. Grados are decent in build; HD 25 are borderline indestructible, and strangely more durable than most, if not all, metal headphones.

@ilovehockey49977 Correct answer is none of the above. Don't touch either. At refurbished prices they go from being offensively overpriced to mediocre for price (prices cut in half).

The solos are downright terrible, the studios are hardly worth their feature set at 150, and the pros/detox still lose out to better closed headphones at 200, such as the Sennheiser HD 25-1, and the ATH-M50.

For sound, well, neither really. The beats are so ridiculously overpriced that it is offensive to good headphones. The noise cancellation in the beats isn't even remotely within the QC series, the only good ANC phone, which is only moderately overpriced. This puts its isolation closer to sealed headphones. The HD 25 and ATH-M50 sound better than the entire beats line.
