  • THOUGH YOU ARE STIFFER THANA GURDER THEY'LL LET YOU GET AWAY...*with murder*

    my favorite part!!

  • OMG this song is stuck in my head!

  • Don't know how many of you play Star Trek Online, but this song sort of reminds me of this game's current situation. The devs claimed that they wouldn't ever give cash shop items a clear advantage, then they did a 180. Yay capitalism.

  • Casey Anthony theme song.

  • Casey Anthony anyone?

  • @ammccarter That is exactly what I thought when I heard this song again after the verdict.

  • I love the way they whisper "with murder"

  • 39 people didn't give 'em the ol' razzle dazzle

  • I love this song. I listen to it everytime I have to write a paper (^_^)

  • fuckiing u thube adds pooppping up

  • Is it just me, or does Gere sound very nasally when he sings?

  • Gr8 :)

  • Is that Larten Crepsley?! He IS immortal!

  • Jose Baez coaching Casey before court.

  • I thought of this while I was wallowing in my misery over the Casey Anthony verdict!

  • @LaurenES95 Me too

  • Look, it's Casey Anthony!

  • Billy Flint when did you become Casey Anthony's lawyer? Is it still 5000?

  • Read my MIND! The Casey Anthony trial has reminded me of Chicago every step of the way. "Oh yes we both reached for the gun" OR, HOW ABOUT "It was an accident that snowballed out of control!!!!!!"

Good show, er I mean, good 'TRIAL' everyone!!

    murderer.

  • @ailorablue dudeeeeeeee

  • Dedicated to the Casey Anthony verdict...

  • Trixie.

  • this is my love life..go me.

  • This should be the theme song for Casey Anthony's lawyers; especially Jose "Bozo" Baez!!!!!!

  • @Suki78473 yea I know I was just kidding.

  • horse shite.

  • Good Number!

  • 4:44 I love her face when she tries to knit! "How the hell does this work!?"

  • @GreenCherries99 This was around WAY before Lady Gaga

  • NOOOO people...this is clearly Lady Gaga's motto.

  • The knitting...!

  • 4:59 wait a minute, i getting confused here...

    THE BEST!!!

  • love this!!!!!!!!!

  • I think it's about Julia Gillard!

  • awesome song!!

  • Lol, this is such an excellent description of media cretins such as the British Cheryl Cole. "Long as you keep them way off balance, how can they spot you've got no talent?" - describes so many celebrities today.

  • @blackbeardtwo A little unfair - she was in Girls Aloud who made some decent pop records. And she got in it through a talent show, so presumably she can actually sing. Anyway, it's meant to be satirical of the criminal justice system not celebrity culture in general.

  • @firestartertwistedfi Girls Aloud is one of the reasons why british music is considered a joke, at the moment we have talented singers, songwriters and bands that aren't getting the attention and recognition they deserve.

I went to a new festival called Playfest a few weekends ago and I show lots of bands and singer/songwriters who where generally good and talented but for some that weekend was there first festival but it was a great weekend why can't we have more music like that.

  • is tht the hungarian girl @ 2:25 - 2:26?!?!?

  • @Artistimo101 Yup it's her. :c That's the framed convict who was completely innocent.

  • @totothepuppydog ikr the only 1 who was truley innocent was killed wtf up with tht!?!?!?

  • Richard Gere > George Clooney

    ^^realshit ♥

  • 4:44 to 4:52 XD LOL I never really noticed the girl in red because I'm JUST that observant.

  • Wow, someone that age is that sexy. Mindblown.

  • Richard Gere is hot for an old guy.

  • 38 people couldn't find a sparkly suit online

  • takıldı dilime gitmiyo yaa

  • 38 ppl had sequins in their eyes and missed the like button

  • The unofficial theme song of the American political system

  • @Filmwolf1 hahahahahahahaha....so sad but true LOL!

  • @Filmwolf1

I disagree. I would argue the American political system has much less theatre than do other nations. Of course it's imperfect, but it is trivial to point out the fact there is no perfect system.

  • @Filmwolf1 The official theme of Obama's administration.

  • @Filmwolf1 The unofficial theme song of trial lawyers!

  • @Filmwolf1 and it's the official theme song of wall street firms that took people's life savings to the cleaners.

  • @Filmwolf1 it´s nothing compared to brazilian´s political and justice system, here it works on very very sloooowwww wheels, probably square obne´s too. But I love this movie!

  • @Filmwolf1 lol

  • when i'm a lawyer i hope i have two things: his skill, and his suit

  • I don't usually fancy Richard Gere, but in this movie and with that sparkly suit.. oh my

  • when did he change???=]]

    [[[[=

  • lol i love how he confused him and how she was trying to knit i also LOVE this movie!!!!

  • 38 people missed the like button

  • How did 20s women style thier hair like that??? I can't do it!!!

  • @EvelynS369 It's a type of perm called a finger wave

  • Billy is actually quite right. They can't see with the lawyers weaving circles about them with legalities. They can't hear the truth with all the stupid quotes, anecdotes, and stories. That's why I want to be a lawyer. It's fun, and you get to be a demagogue.

  • @bowserhunter1 Yeah, I guess, but still, it would be really horrible to have to defend someone who you think should lose the trial.

  • @bowserhunter1 In America perhaps. In the Netherlands, we don't even have a jury, just a judge, who decides if the suspect is guilt or not and the verdict to. We do have a demagogue though a politician called Wilders...

  • This film is proof that the musical never really goes out of style. It was very well done, btw.

  • thats so fake you can see the strings

  • @titababyblue1 I think that is the point. After all, he is singing a song about fooling a crowd with obviously fake stuff.

  • love this movie too, I didn't know these stars could sing

  • I object!

    sustained

Your honer, I haven't even asked the question yet...

  • Richard Gere is SOOOOOO Hott in this movie

  • The song is catchy, the costumes are so pretty :D And I love Chicago in general, so this is awesome :D

  • 37 people didn't give them the ol' Razzle Dazzle :)

  • If all court rooms were like this, I bet jury duty would be a lot more interesting

  • Richard Gere is amazing in this

  • . . . had not thought of what "lawyer4817" said . . .

BUT . . . U Hit The Nail On The Head!!!

    American Justice System and All!!!

  • I love how Amos is all suprised someone remembered his name.

  • I love that part from 4:40. That was funny.

  • He is so ATTRACTIVE!

  • Richard Gere is describing the OJ simpson tral

  • Him or politicians! ;) LOL

  • @lawyer4817 OJ had to be the women in Cell Block Tango, "If I'da done it". Chicago really is the female version of the OJ simpson trial.

  • @lawyer4817 And now the Casey Anthony trial!

  • Jose Baez-Give them the old Razzle Dazzle, Bella Vita Them!

  • Comment removed

  • Billy: I OBJECT!

    Judge: Sustained

Man: Your Honor i haven't even asked the question yet! XD

  • I want him as Lawyer XD If he can just wear that sparkly suite. I'd be fine. ^-^

  • 37 tried this approach at one point in their life without Billy by their side and did time. Poor things are just bitter. :)

  • this is razzle dazzzzzzling :D

  • 37 people can't see with glitter in their eyes

  • 37 people won't get away with murder.

  • I love this peice.

  • I love when the Dancer pops up in real life on Amos' shoulder. It shows that Billy really worked his magic.

  • "How can they see with sequins in their eeyeeees!"

    favorite part. <3

  • @0Charlotte666

    yes!!!!!!!!!

  • This, and the tap dance, are my favorite parts.

  • This movie makes me reaize what a looker Richard Gere is.... ;D

  • great performance but the best scene in that movie is the cell block tango, hands down.

  • 37 people don't know the beauty of the ol' razzle dazzle

  • Fun times I'll have rehearsing this....

  • @corndawg2123 Me too, ol' buddy! Shake a leg out there!

  • I saw this in New York.....fantastic!!!

  • Billy's a genius. In We Both Reached the Gun he convinced the Media that Fred came at Roxie with the intent to kill, he convinced Amos to divorce Roxie to make him look like a bad guy, dealing with Velma so he could win the case and give the other lawyer a bad reputation and they just totally ruled the whole legal system

  • If I ever get on trial, I want him as my lawyer

  • @dancingwithfate One of my favorite lines in the movie is when Billy Flynn says something like:

"I don't mean to brag, but if Joan of Arc had been on trial in Chicago and I had been her lawyer, things would have turned out differently."

  • @dancingwithfate I remain convinced that it wasn't because Billy was an awesome lawyer that Roxie got off... I believe it was because the justice system in Chicago was so malleable and so much resembling a Bugs Bunny cartoon. Chicago, IMHO, is a political statement to this effect.

  • @cabbitsd Although I have lived in the Chicago area all my life, I believe that even by big city standards, Chicago is a cesspool of political corruption. That said, even though the musical takes place in Chicago, the message is universal. It would be a mistake to think that what happens in the musical could occur only in Chicago

  • @ChicagoSouthDan Of course, that goes without saying. There were a lot of places around this time period with a very 'flexible' legal system that could be bent and swayed with the right amount of Razzle Dazzle. There's a lot of places that still are. In fact, I believe physical location has little IF anything to do with how corrupt its people are.

  • She woke up after seeing that one girl get hung, and realized she could be next, smart girl for calling him back, I would kiss his ass until we won the case lol.

  • @hopelesslyderanged there is one, when Velma comes to the stand with a diary. It's not in the song, but he does tap dance.

  • @ilovetocomment317 A video of that is on the right, about the third one down. It's called "a tap dance" and it shows a picture of Catherine Zeta Jones as Velma

  • And people say reality is boring, hahaha. This movie is so realistic. It just razzle dazzles reality with awesome musical numbers. Imagine a movie with this storyline, but no musical numbers.

  • id were that suit to church. be flashy for mr. man up there. hope he wont mind:)

  • I love the part where the "re-enact" the shooting in the court.

  • @XxMissNoNamexX agreed, but it;s most hillarious in the actual play.

  • I have to observe court for Aviation Law. I wish it could be this awesome.

  • i live my life by this song.

  • here is the list of things that Richard gives 'em: Give 'em the old razzle dazzle

_ _hocus pocus Bead and feather 'em

    _ _flim flam flummox

    Fool and fracture 'em

    _ _double whammy

    Daze and dizzy 'em

    _ _three ring circus

    Stun and stagger 'em

___ ...damnnn! the world is spinning around

  • hi mr.harper :)

  • `lmao *looks at string.* *how the hell do i do this.... awww fuck it!*

  • I never liked Richard Gere but I really liked him in Chicago. I was amazed that he was such a great singer.

  • he's a sexy old man. haha

  • 36 People that missed the like button </3

  • I LOVE THIS SONG :)

  • "SHE DOES! SHE DOES!!!" :)

  • Seen this onstage with the late Patrick Swayze as Billy Flynn, Now that was a show

  • Man, Richard Gere's a great actor. :)

  • Love it! Clever!

  • this song is awesome

  • I want his sparkly suit. I would wear the hell out of that suit. :)

  • @BroadwayFairy sparkle sparkle :P

  • @BroadwayFairy lol ya its tight

  • This is probably the only movie where I DON'T hate Richard Gere.

  • @EBHawc omg totally! i agree, I hate him., but he is amazing in this one!

  • Aww amis is so cutee...Roxie is a bitch. So at the end dont people wanna know what happened to the baby?...cause she was "pregnant" but now there's no baby at end...hmm i would be like where the f*** is that baby? aha

  • @bodasciousbabe I never thought of that until you mentioned it. Good point. I guess we just have to assume that she declared a miscarriage or something.

  • @ChicagoSouthDan

well thx glad someone can see my point :)

  • 2:45 to 2:50 is pretty dang awesome. I love how the showgirls pop up behind the jury, and just kind of relax there, and get all cozy haha.

  • I don't understand 3:11 to 3:20. Whenever he is holding up his fingers, to that old lady. Someone please explain?

  • @Snickerbar212 That old lady is the one who caught Roxie kissing with Fred Casely at the beginning of the movie, during all that jazz, and Billy is trying to show the jury that she doesn't have a very good sight, she needs glasses

  • @vampiressedna9 Thanks! Now, I just don't get why the show girls did two fingers, and then he did three, or whatever. Like, they switched their hands around and everything, and changed the numbers. Why were they doing that?

  • @Snickerbar212 They were just trying to confuse the lady

  • @Snickerbar212

its explaining she cant see how many fingers he is hoding up...its hard for her to see...:) i was confused too

  • i like how he actually took the time to reassure her

    "Billy I'm scared =("

"Nah, don't be. I've been around a long time believe me you have nothing to worry about."

  • i want a sparkly suit :D

  • "long as you keep 'em way off balance, how can they spot you've got no talents?"

    so true.

  • this only makes me want to be a barrister all the more (:

  • Its very sad that court cases in real life are practically like this. The justice system is all out of wack :( Oh well, enough with reality, this song is great!

  • "..wait a minute I'm getting confused here.."

  • So, according to the description, you have other favorite songs about litigation?

  • @ovenstonejoey i think i may have been a jokey joke

  • so razzle dazzle them..... the truth sets you free..... truth sends me to fricken jail!!!! Lets put on a show!!! ;D

  • Lovely great 2002 movie............

  • this is an awesome movie!!

i usually dont like musicals but this was a really good one,lol i watched it when i was like 7 and have liked it since then lolz

  • do this in any aspect in you're life and you'll always have it your way.

  • richard gere ;) for an older guy, he looks pretty nice in this :D

  • it's only a circus! like the Italian politics, sigh. At least I'd like to have a politician like Richard Gere! XD

  • haha when i had to go to court with my mom for some stupid crap that i did, i thought of this song and was humming it quietly lol. then i had to go on the stand and before the questions were asked, i was still humming it and the judge looked at me funny. LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!Q

  • I love the fact that this is so true.... and also that he checks her eyes. LMAO!

  • richard gere ♥_♥

  • besides his voice, richard did a brilliant job!!

  • what a shame they find it funny..when my sister is almost in tears well good for them... just make sure my phone does not ring on my days off or when i am on holiday good luck axelle_rose beso
