That is why people didn't appear to be moving for him. If he had been a better driver and completed the advanced class 1 course he could have followed the car until safe to pursue. It would also allow other cars to be called in. This is against pursuit rules and had they said what they were doing - would have been told to abandon.

A british cop car would outrun an amarican cop car any day of the week, hell a 3.2 twin turbo running in a car that weighs 1500kgs, with 99 octane rated fuel, will outrun just about anything, let alone your low octane, heavy, naturally aspirated usless police cars.

Of course even if it was in a police force I doubt it'd be much use. Catching up to someone on a dry road is one thing, but catching them on any road condition, icy, slick, muddy, or otherwise and getting them to stop is another. American cars aren't the fastest but they don't fall apart after a single PIT maneuver either.

British police also use volvo T5s as there main marked traffic cars, they also use bmw m5s, and my local police dept have 2 evos, 1 marked, 1 unmarked.
The top speed of almost all british cop cars is 170mph, they have also just bought a lotus clocked at 186 on the m1.

No police force is gonna have a two seater on the force. Also, Volvos are plenty tough, but I could outrun one in a Sunfire. I also saw a few Subarus, but they were newer. And yes, the Ford Crown Victoria cops in the states use are a bit out-of-date, even though they upgrade the model every year or so. They also use various new Chevy's, Dodge Chargers, and a few other models. They've just kept the Crown Victoria for so long because it's very versatile.

The top speed of almost all british cop cars is 170mph, they have also just bought a lotus clocked at 186 on the m1.

No police force is gonna have a two seater on the force. Also, Volvos are plenty tough, but I could outrun one in a Sunfire. Oh, and anyone who owns something that goes faster then 125(the top speed of late model Police Intercepters), has enough money to not need to commit a crime they need to run from.

Infact, not just the Crown Vics but some of the other models too that are more commonplace in my town here. Not the mustangs though, those things are way too cheap and nasty and the handling is just not the same :(

@MrRafe85 Very true. Mustangs, I love them to death but they just don't have the performance wear it counts without excessive upgrades. Impalas and Chargers are decent though. The fwd gives them an edge on snow, though Chargers stick out like a sore thumb. Impalas on the other hand appear out of nowhere with the right paint job, I swear. Got caught by this greyish one. The driver was a nice guy though, let me off with a warning.

But what good is a cop car if it can't catch the bad guys? Our cop cars can take a licking and keep on ticking, and as far as Crown Vics, they're fairly cheap to repair after a rough PIT manuver. Impalas may not be as durable but the FWD provides better handling in the snow. And I'd rather the cops wreck a few cars rather then let a criminal go free. At least my streets are safer.

I've definitely never heard of anyone getting prosecuted for that sort of thing, at least if it's to get out of the way of a police cruiser. Now if you did a bad parking job on the other hand, a parking ticket is hardly something to get bent out of shape about.

@fallios Well I lived in the UK for 2 years, and the only cop cars I saw in my area (the Cambridge area) were Skodas and Ford hatchbacks. I think
I also saw a few Subarus, but they were newer. And yes, the Ford Crown Victoria cops in the states use are a bit out-of-date, even though they upgrade the model every year or so. They also use various new Chevy's, Dodge Chargers, and a few other models. They've just kept the Crown Victoria for so long because it's very versatile.
