I thought that only Tarja would handle with Nightwish. Then she done so great solo. Then I gave a chance to Dark Passion Play and Anette, and I liked it
I know Anette is a bit tired of the concert and singing. But tarja sings with the same energy from the beginning till the end of the concert. How's that posible???

For all the the bullshit that the haters spout there is one thing they are right about, Nightwish is no longer unique in terms of the style of their singer. Now they are just like any other power metal / symphonic metal band, but still a fucking awesome one mind you. That being said I think Anette brings her own charms to Nightwish that Tarja never had. It's true her voice was beautiful, that of an Angel, but Anette has a power and passion that just wasn't there before.
I like her... you whom don't liked, think that's no easy fit a diferent voice in a song already finished. She did a good job and she chose because Tarja's era has passed, that's a new and She woudn't copy Tarja's vocals..

I honestly do like Annete, but I think that old and new Nightwish are quite different sounds. Tarja FIT the old Nightwish, and Annete really doesn't. This wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be, but I still think Tarja sounds better on the old stuff. I don't think she'd fit the new sound though.

If you're truly are a Nightwish fan, you would accept Anette. Sure, she don't have Tarja's voice, but she's still a good singer. It would have been pretty boring if she just sung from Dark Passion Play :)

OMG whenever I comment on something I find funny or strange people think I want to hurt someone. But I don't. It's just as it used to be with Tarja as well, the English pronounciation is good on studio records but not always perfect live. Sometimes it is really funny when I hear a sound and say wow, that was totally different...I know they aren't English, nor am I, just it's possible to learn the right sound, but I don't blame them, they're good.
I like Annette over Tarja just because Annette show much better dedication to Nightwish. Tarja claimed herself as a temp, not a perm singer. That's just screaming "FIRE ME!!".
Tarja has 10 times the vocal capabilities as Anette Olzon. You will NOT deny that. They should have just made Marco the singer since they got rid of the talent of the band. Marco is freaking amazing!

It's too late. It's already a fact. Whatever the reason is, Anette just can't hit those high notes like Tarja can. She wasn't properly trained or whatever the reason is I said. She's like 41 years old. She should know how to sing by now.
She's 39. Fucking close enough. It had been at least 6 months since I looked her up on Wiki. Shit. That shows how much I don't really care about her. She can't sing at all for Nightwish's style. High notes are part of Tarja's era in the band. They should just reinvent Nightwish and stop playing the old songs from 2004 and back.

Nightwish is dead. They're a lifeless, reanimated corpse roaming around that should be peacefully laid to rest, for they have seen better days. I refuse to listen to Dark Passion Play. I still listen to the stuff from '04 & older. Their next one will probably come out mid-late 2011. What have they been doing for 4 years?
@SalandFindles They have been touring for over 2 years, then agreed that was too much and took one year of a break, now are working on the new album already. Which will be out early-mid 2011, not mid-late.
And if they are so dead, what are you still doing in newer videos?
I come here to inform the masses that listening to this woman isn't worth it in the long run. Listen to Tarja's newest album called What lies beneath. It's awesome. She covered Still of the Night by Whitesnake even. Also, I read that they're continuing recording in January 2011. Once it's finished recording, it will take months after months of mixing and mastering, because if you didn't notice, they're a very professional band. Look how much effort went into the End of An Era DVD.
It was good quality video and the sound was mixed very well. Albums take a long time to perfect. You have to think of album artwork, too. That has to be designed and all that stuff. It will be mid-Late 2011 before a new NW album comes out. Mark my words. Summer is mid-way through the year, so if it comes out then, that means I would have been right about it. Look at ReVamp, Floor Jansen's new band. They were done recording in Jan this yr, but the album didn't come out in the US until late July.
Lots of factors are involved in the release date of an album, or product for that matter. After a recording is finished, mixed and mastered, complete with album artwork, it has to be then cleared with the record company to be released in certain countries at certain dates. ReVamp's album came out in late May to most of Europe, but July 27th for the US. Nightwish's new album will be really late in the year I'd say. Q3 at the earliest, maybe mid-way like I said before.
Say what you want about her voice, Annette is a much better frontperson than tarja. She moves around and actually does shit. Tarja just stood there derping and swaying her hips.
@StewieSwan Hm well, classical singers generally get out of breath more easily when moving around too much. You can even hear it in older performances when Tarja still used to jump around more than later on. So I don't really blame her for not moving.

@StewieSwan I'm not aganist Anette, change is good, but let me tell you the reason why Tarja doesn't flies trough the stage the way Anette does.
Tarja is an opera singer, Anette isn't. If you sing opera you have to move the less possible to no to put unnecesary pressure on the diafragma, 'cause is your instrument. But when you sing with a white voice (a.k.a. not trained to sing opera) you don't have to worry about your diafragma getting squeezed. If you don't believe me, watch any aria.
@falcongirly True that. Anette is trained in a singing technique that works with diaphragma pressure anyway, so she can do that. At younger times when Tarja still jumped around more, it was obvious that she ran out of breath afterwards.
But you have to realize that Anette isn't meant for Symphonic Power Metal. She's meant for music more like Shakira's. She's a pop singer. She should not sing Tarja's songs at all. They need to not play the old stuff anymore. She can't do it.

OMG whenever I comment on something I find funny or strange people think I want to hurt someone. But I don't. It's just as it used to be with Tarja as well, the English pronounciation is good on studio records but not always perfect live. Sometimes it is really funny when I hear a sound and say wow, that was totally different...I know they aren't English, nor am I, just it's possible to learn the right sound, but I don't blame them, they're good.

She's 39. Fucking close enough. It had been at least 6 months since I looked her up on Wiki. Shit. That shows how much I don't really care about her. She can't sing at all for Nightwish's style. High notes are part of Tarja's era in the band. They should just reinvent Nightwish and stop playing the old songs from 2004 and back.

Nightwish is dead. They're a lifeless, reanimated corpse roaming around that should be peacefully laid to rest, for they have seen better days. I refuse to listen to Dark Passion Play. I still listen to the stuff from '04 & older. Their next one will probably come out mid-late 2011. What have they been doing for 4 years?

@SalandFindles They have been touring for over 2 years, then agreed that was too much and took one year of a break, now are working on the new album already. Which will be out early-mid 2011, not mid-late.

I come here to inform the masses that listening to this woman isn't worth it in the long run. Listen to Tarja's newest album called What lies beneath. It's awesome. She covered Still of the Night by Whitesnake even. Also, I read that they're continuing recording in January 2011. Once it's finished recording, it will take months after months of mixing and mastering, because if you didn't notice, they're a very professional band. Look how much effort went into the End of An Era DVD.

It was good quality video and the sound was mixed very well. Albums take a long time to perfect. You have to think of album artwork, too. That has to be designed and all that stuff. It will be mid-Late 2011 before a new NW album comes out. Mark my words. Summer is mid-way through the year, so if it comes out then, that means I would have been right about it. Look at ReVamp, Floor Jansen's new band. They were done recording in Jan this yr, but the album didn't come out in the US until late July.

Lots of factors are involved in the release date of an album, or product for that matter. After a recording is finished, mixed and mastered, complete with album artwork, it has to be then cleared with the record company to be released in certain countries at certain dates. ReVamp's album came out in late May to most of Europe, but July 27th for the US. Nightwish's new album will be really late in the year I'd say. Q3 at the earliest, maybe mid-way like I said before.

@StewieSwan I'm not aganist Anette, change is good, but let me tell you the reason why Tarja doesn't flies trough the stage the way Anette does.
Tarja is an opera singer, Anette isn't. If you sing opera you have to move the less possible to no to put unnecesary pressure on the diafragma, 'cause is your instrument. But when you sing with a white voice (a.k.a. not trained to sing opera) you don't have to worry about your diafragma getting squeezed. If you don't believe me, watch any aria.

You must not make the mistake of linking soprano's/alt's/contralt's or whatever to opera.
