The Oil companies manipulate oil & gas prices! In a 2/13/12 A.P. article by by Kevin Begos, oil companies are cutting back on dry natural gas drilling because prices are too low. Kathryn Klaber, president of Marcellus Shale Coalition, states they are cutting back. About 725 rigs were shut down. Production has been cut and will continue to be cut until prices rise. Wet gas wells will be started back up because wet gas costs more. They will do the same to oil. Oil will not go down, ever!

@falcondriver100 . it's not like it would make much difference. Every time gas prices start climbing, the "drill, baby, drill" chorus kicks in. We heard it back in 2008, and we're hearing it again. Sounds good. More oil should equal lower prices. Except that's not quite the case.

@garybatesrsc when i lived in humboldt, i had a 3 car pileup happen 40 yards from my house. it was a geo metro, one of those toyota minivans from the 80's, and the hugest suv i have ever seen. all 3 vehicles were totaled, but everyone got out of the first 2 cars just fine, but the suv, tank flipped over, and trapped a young lady's hip under its weight, and it took line an hour to get her out because it was too heavy for the jaws of life. they were trying these jacks that went into the cement...

@garybatesrsc they were pulling it with orange straps from the other side, and were cutting... all the air bags and saftey mesures seemed to have gone off, but the other vehicles were so small i guess it was like a ramp and it landed on the roof after 2 or 3 flipps. and the funny part, is the other 2 cars were like little tin cans on rollerskates, but no one even got into an ambulance from those cars. but EVERYONE from the suv left in one.

The average price per gallon of gas is now well over 4 dollars and it's only May... It is guaranteed to go well over 5 dollars.... Yeah, drill baby drill is a really stupid idea! I agree, there's no easy answer, but I think the focus needs to be: new energy sources, efficiency of current technology, and probably diversification. (Any single srce, 2heavily relied upon, will make huge problems eventually.)

Kathryn Klaber, president of Marcellus Shale Coalition, states they are cutting back. About 725 rigs were shut down. Production has been cut and will continue to be cut until prices rise. Wet gas wells will be started back up because wet gas costs more. They will do the same to oil. Oil will not go down, ever!

The Young Jerk just makes a great point! We had an oil spill because government regulations forced them into deep water (Democrat regulation) and the spill was from the company with the worse record (company that has a deal with the government set up by Democrats) who also happens to be the company that funded the AGW fraud!
So now gas will go above $5 a gallon, the economy is going to take a second hit, more unemployment, defeceit, foreclosures..etc. Or we could have drilled baby drilled!
