Hmm, it is just me or does that look like the '84 DYRL variant of the Macross? If memory serves, in the TV series (which I am assuming this game is based off of) the SDF-Macross had the Daedules and Prometheus rather than the ARMD platforms as "arms".
meh the scale seems smaller in a.c.e 2 so meh. either way this game is a pretty good representation. By transformation being too fast, do you mean the variable fighter's G and B modes or are you actually talking about the SD-F1's transformation?
I found the transformation too fast, the macross too small, some enemy too weak, and the missile lock too fast. (comparison with the movie where the licence come)
not really, roy was the better pilot, rick says so himself, max was the THE best as stated by the writer and has been said so in the storyline. also rick was more headstrong at piloting that roy, which lead to rick having less skills.

Excellent game, nice video.
But I agree with what several others said. The Macross looked rather small and the transformation scene a bit jerky.

Max was the wunderkind of the show while Hikaru (Rick) was more like Wedge Antilles of Star Wars, the survivalist ace of the show.

I almost feel bad for everyone's favorite race of giant evil aliens; you didn't even get into visual range before you smoked them.
The SDF-1 sure looked a lot bigger on the inside, too...
