More importantly, Nirvana was a tight sounding band. Dave Grohl was a powerhouse and Nirvana was all about dynamic. And Noveselic was a bassist who just added to the sound.

Honestly, the only disrespect I've ever seen Cobain get is for his guitar playing which is just made by self important people who happen to realize a lot of music is comprised of simple power chords. BUT from a song writer and melody writer point of view...I don't see too many people disrespect him or the band.

The list probably was based on a lot of factors, like stage presence, album sales etc.. Surely Kurt wasn't the best technical guitar player, and a lot of other lead guitarists could probably have played solos in circles around Kurt, but being a musician is about a lot more than just skill, so I'm guessing they took that into account.
