The stars in the Hollywood movie "Charade" were Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant - not Rock Hudson. There was a Bengali movie based on Charade called "Kokhono Megh" starring the one and only Uttam Kumar and Anjana Bhowmick.
Whenever I watch or a listen to some old, nice video clip, song it reminds me that all conceptual phenomena is subject to impermanance. Where all these pretty women and handsome men have gone?
@lumalive They retired. And their children who inherited the business went to the gym and the plastic surgeon. Sad, isn't it? But, it's the music that has suffered the most.
I agree that it is a great haunting song from Lata in the same vein as "kahin deep jale'" and "nayna barshe rim jhim", but I hope that everyone knows that the music is a copy of the theme music from the classic movie "Charade" starring Audrey Hepburn and Rock Hudson!
I have been watching some older indian films , and this one and the cloud capped star are my favorites.I stumbled upon gunaam recently, and this is my favorite song from the film - it is just so haunting and beautiful.
@ewephamzzm Hi there!! Perhaps a little late but nevertheless. "Meghe dhaka tara" or the cloud capped star film which you watched is an Indian Bengali movie. There are movies in many different Indian languages & each of them have some gems in each genre. The list is endless. Perhaps, amongst the older genres, you will like films by Satyajit Ray, Bimol Roy, Guru Dutt etc. Believe me, there are probably a thousand other gems u will find if u go looking. Thanks.
I saw the film about 40 years ago in Sri Lanka. It was a very nice film. This is one of the best songs I have ever heard and since then I have been whistling or humming it very often as I do not know the words. Hindi itself is a musical language. The songs in any language have one universal language whether you understand the words or not. THANK YOU FOR POSTING IT.
yuanyuanyuanyin - Thank you for your sentiments. After reading your comments I feel that I am not alone in this lonely planet as long as we have some nice people around us.
Of course we are not alone, my friend. Though we all are from different countries/nationalities/religions etc of the world, we all are bonded by MUSIC more than anything else, even sports!
See, you are from Thailand praising an Indian song posted by a Sri Lankan, who does not even understand the Hindi language! How beautiful it is? Some kind of Globalization, I suppose!
After years of searching, I finally got the movie on DVD. Wonderful movie and title song.
