Wow, all those "Sato won" guys down here need to consider the fact that punching on someone's defense scores zero points. It just wastes energy.

Sato attacked way more, but it kept even because Drago defended well, and his attacks came through more.

That's what counts, nothing else.

Then at the end, Sato obviously got tired and began giving away points. That's how it happens, nothing unfair about it.

Sato's kicks were more like touching. I think the judges saw that too. He can not go in the ring and swing his arms and legs around like they were limp dicks. If there is no power in the kick, than it's just touching and shouldn't count.

drago n buakaw r my fev fighters. in my opinion, i think buakaw is the best in K1 but the rules has changed, so he couldnt use knee properly.

FYI dont 4get that masato only fought in Japan n Thailand but Buakaw fought everywhere LOL, so it shows that buwkaw is the best haha!!

K1 is faster paced because of the 3 rounds limit. In other matches of more rounds like 10 for example, you will see that there is a slower pace. The k1 commission made 3 rounds the standard, because they wanted to see more action.

Well, what I can tell is that you don't watch K-1 that often. This match was after Sato fought Masato and got beat by Masato. In one match before that, Sato knocked out Buakaw and won. You're seriously not the one to tell these two world top fighters to improve. Ignorance is a bliss. Boxing is the only tournament that goes 12 rounds by the way.

Yeah, but all the fighters agrees that that's inevitable. If it wasn't for Masato, Tanigawa who is the K-1 promoter wouldn't have decided to create K-1. Kyshenko, Buakaw, Souwer, Drago, etc. all might have never faced each other if Masato didn't exist. Souwer said that's one of the factor that motivates him although he never lost against Masato. Masato attracts the most attention=money. I don't like that either but similar things can be expected all over the world.

Sato just doesn't have enough strength for a finisher. He's a very boring fighter as he will just try to earn points after points especially against top fighters. That's why Masato doesn't give him enough credits, even though they both are Japanese.

How they got a tie out those 3 rounds is anyone's guess. It's like Kyshenko getting hosed last year vs Masato in the championships. There's no doubt that Kyshenko and Sato got beat in their respective extra rounds, but the fights should've never gotten that far in the first place.

My point was the 1st Round should've went to Sato. He landed and threw 2-3 times the punches/kicks/knees that Drago did. I have 0 doubt that Drago won the 2nd, and Sato def won the third. I think K1 judges either do no score leg kicks / knees or they just randomly decide they want an extra round.

The kick was more like touch which can't do much damage. However, Gago's puches definitely did stun Sato. After all, Sato is overrated and sure is made by Japanese media.
