@whitekid3 I made this video four years ago, so I can't speak about current conditions. I would go and just use some common sense to stay out of trouble.
@whitekid3 I'm french, I've lived in TJ for 2 years. It is safe but use common sense. I recommend you to go the the 6th street or to Zona Rio. AVOID Avenida Revolucion.
@whitekid3 Zona Norte hahaha I find it an amazing place because it's all good and weird at the same time. Trust me, you can have a lot of fun there but sometimes it's a lil bit scary. As I live in TJ I'm sorry I can't tell you much about hotels. Good luck.

The reason TJ is getting less tourism is because California has turned into such a terrible state. I've lived in Cali my whole life and this state is looking worse and worse every year. Southern Cali is filled with so many poor people. You're just as likely to find prostitutes, get robbed, or find drug carriers on the streets of Cali as you are in TJ.
im from tj i just think its funny how ppl say its "dangerous"to go to tj.....im 32 and i've never heard of a kid taking a gun to elementary for exaple that happens a lot here in the us....never heard of a guy killing a dozen of innocent ppl cuz he got fired from work, and i dont think cali is dangerous, but what i think is there are bad and good ppl everywhere in the world ......tj is a great place if u go to the right places, and if u go looking for trouble then that's what u get, right?
Most of the clubs and businesses on Ave Revolucion are closing, the 'it' street now is on 6th street, we have about 45 bars and counting and this street has revived local tourism, so more and more 'gringos' are going there too :)
@dmtharpua inside the city no, but the state of Baja California is an excellent place to visit if you're interested in nature, you'll find beach, desert and forest in 1 state: Valle de Guadalupe, La Rumorosa, Laguna Salada, Valle de los Cirios, San Pedro Martir, the scenic route Tijuana- Ensenada, la Bufadora.
TJ is a great place. Do not believe any tales about "danger". The people of Baja are friendly and honest and peaceloving. The drug dealers don't want anything from you. I plan to retire in Baja this year. I love the place.
@Avalon400 i lived in tijuana for 13 years and yea is true ppl are nice but after 10o clock things get dangerous my uncle was highjacked and my family has lost 3 cars and stole my grandmas bag thats why iam in sandiego now
@ot4kidz I was a language student in san diego, and I used to go almost every weekend there to spend my weekend with some friends. I'm just in love with Tijuana, the people's very friendly and kind! You just have to stay in downtown and you'll not get a problem. Then is very cheap and more more more funny than US ;) If u can, go there, better not alone of course, but enjoy fantastic place and handsome people. Enjoy TJ! Viva Mexico!
tijuana isnt nearly as bad as everyone things unless your a pretty blonde girl and dont know how to be smart about who you talk to. me and my friends recently started going there alot so much fun 1 dollar beers 3 tacos for a dollar its fucking awesome.
@PhiloAmericana its not they just exagerrate a lot its really not violent just dont wear expensive stuff dont go on luxary cars and dont get involved in drugs
Another money trap. Not much good intention, just the lure to take your money. Then and now, mexicans are sucking money from the US. Please stay on your side of the border.
@pressman45 Uhmm u do know who r da ppl dat took da care to let u eat wat u eat and da ppl dat do all da jobs dat u guys dont want to do cuz its to hot and to dirty u wouldnt last a fucking day on da fields so if we stayed on our side of the border food would be a problem think before u speak man
Oh my dear Tijuana how I love you <3 .... I was born there and lived all my life there and I'm full of life ;P ... I been asked many times if I'm american because of my american accent but I always tell them " I'm 100% mexican born in TJ"
nice narrarating dude !!! you should make a new video because Plaza rio looks like malls from San Diego CA., now ... its so impressive :O
people all the bad stuff that you hear about tijuana is not true. I mean all the murders and kidnaps are true but only those who deside to be in this type of organized crime organisations are the ones who get kill as longest you stay in the turist area or the areas that this guy mantion in the video, you will be safe trust me i have visit tijuana like one billion times and i think its great place the worst that can happend to you is that you can get riped off by one of this bussineses
Tijuana is a shithole and it's very dangerous as are all the border cities in Mexico, Tijuana Cuidad Juarez Nuevo Laredo and all the other border cities in Mexico are very violent and are very dangerous and have been taken over by drug cartels, murders kidnappings shootings massacres beheadings and torture are a part of normal everyday life in the border cities of Mexico, the border cities of Mexico need to be avoided.
lmao i white guy in a sombrero saying fiesta. cmon ppl, mexico isnt close to the stereotype, no sombreros or ponchos and tacos and burritos arent the only freakin things they eat. just because some parts of mexico are ghetto and have drug dealers and shit doesnt mean the whole country is like that. im hispanic and im ashamed to be mostly american just because of the racism and stereotypes.
ese pinche prieto de mierda del minuto 1:04, no es de tijuana ese pendejo a decer del sur porque no parece de aki del norte maldito prietos y morenos y negros no mas arruinan a tijuana k se vallan todos los malditos migrantes de tijuana
DONT BE FOOLED BY THSI VIDEO. IF YOU GO TO MEXICO THE DRUG CARTELS WILL BEHEAD YOU, TIE YOU UP, LASH YOU, AND THEN BEHEAD YOU. DONT GO TO THIS FUCKING COUNTRY... YOU WILL BE MURDERED IMMEDIATLY ITS CURRUPT.
@NYCsPLAYA You should go visit Mexico. I think you would be pleasantly surprised at how much fun you have. I'm not saying Tijuana, but Cancun or Cabo would be good. I think you would really enjoy yourself. There are problems in Mexico, but if you use common sense you can have a wonderful vacation there. I would go back in a heart beat.
@AgileHProductions my girlfriend is mexican; so I will keep that in mind.. but I still know its a corrupt country and dont want to be kidnapped then my head cut off
@NYCsPLAYA Ay, Dios mio! Since 2004 , around 200 Americans have been killed by the drug cartel. Out of those people, over 75% of them were actually INVOLVED in the drug cartel.
Just because the news blows up the issue, it does not mean that it is correct. Mexico is a very safe country, but you need to remember your street smarts. It's the same with LA, New York, Chicago, and other big cities.
My mom's family is from Mexico and I've been to Mexico a billion times. Yet, I'm alive and well!
@investmjr Did you not read that over 75% of Americans killed in Mexico were INVOLVED in the drug cartel? That means less than 50 innocent Americans have died in Mexico in the past 7 years.
More Americans have been killed by terrorists on American soil. More Americans have been killed by the American drug cartel on American soil. More Americans have been slaughtered by gang violence on American soil.
The world is a dangerous place and you will find innocent deaths where ever you go.
@TheDiverpro OK, 70 is a lot. We're talking about MURDERS here, not petty theft or cloudy days. So I guess I'm OK as long as someone doesn't mistake me for someone that is involved in/looking for drugs?? I might as well take a tour of South Chicago while I'm at it cause hey, most of the violence there is gang related. I can stroll on through and be just fine. I'll throw in East Oakland too. They'll leave me alone as long as I'm not affiliated with a gang . . . Right.
@investmjr I was actually wrong. Those 200 were killed by a mixture of gang violence, such as the cartel, political guerrillas, and gangs.
And no. If they want to kill you, they'll kill you. Murderers don't give a care about you. It doesn't matter if you're affiliated with them or not. If they have a want or a reason to kill you. they will. Much of the time it's because they can ransom you for money.
But don't think that Mexico is some hell whole of a country. Mexico is a very safe country.
@investmjr Mexico has gotten a bad reputation by the media. Sadly, it scares Americans to death and they believe it will happen to them too. Thefts and violence happens everywhere, but that is NOT what Americans are afraid of. They think that if they cross the boarder, the drug cartel (or any of the variants) will kill them in the matter of seconds.
Mexico is not like that. My mother's family came from Juarez, Mexico and even to this day they miss living there. Mexico is friendly and very safe.
@TheDiverpro I am sure there are parts that are safe and some people have great experiences there. Still, the rash of women being murdered and dismembered on almost a daily basis does not happen in a "safe" country. The next annointed leader being shot in the head in broad daylight doesn't happen in a "safe" country. You cannot pay the police off in a "safe" country. These are not urban myths or media creations - they are facts. The US has nothing comparable - at all.
@investmjr Read the news. You'll be shocked at the violence that goes on here in the "safety" of America. Oh and I bet you didn't read about Gabrielle Giffords, the US Congresswoman who was shot in the head. And yes, police here in America can be paid off too. Our local Police chief was being paid by a local drug gang to "over look" the situation.
It's sickening that you want to paint Mexico as a country of pure social catastrophe and it's rather insulting.
@TheDiverpro Please dude, please. Giffords was not trying to reform the ENTIRE United States government, and she was not shot because of it. That was an isolated incident. I'm not going to argue that Mexico is as safe as the US - It's just rediculous. Countries with struggling economies such as Mexico have major problems, and that's just a fact you'll have to admit.. It may not be as bad as people say, but you're also not living in reality with some of these comments.
@investmjr By the way people have commented on your youtube profile page, it doesn't seem like you are a very kind or nice person.
I realize that I can't change your opinion and I don't really care to do so.
There are problems everywhere on this earth and you just have to face the facts. And, it doesn't matter what country, they will have their own corruption, unique problems, ans social crises. Even America, in all of its glory, has major problems.
u know wats the best feeling ever that being mexican american cus u could enjoy both countries wit out worries !!! like how white americans say "oh ur gonna get killed in mexico" people from tijuana just laugh wen they here that !!
@619virgen jajajaja yase, igual en cualquier otro lugar de Mexico, si dices que eres de TJ hasta se asustan, cuando ahorita Tj es MUCHO mas seguro que muchas otras ciudades de Mexico

This comment has received too many negative votesshow
When I see a Mexican in the US, I get the biggest racist feelings ever. But if I go to Mexico to visit or something, and see Mexicans, I'm not racist because its THEIR land. The US is the Americans land, not the Mexicans.
@Westmoon67 Are u native american? As far as I know the United States is based on the immigration of people from other countries. The only people who have a right to be angry are native americans. We were "settled" originally by Europeans - that's what most history text books talk about. However, there are tons of immigrant populations that have come throughout our history. There is a place for legal immigration. You should try really hard not to be racist. It makes life a lot easier.
@AgileHProductions @ Thanks for you video man and please diss all the negative racist comments. Some people just don't get it. Stupid is forever. I encourage you to keep posting. Maybe you can mosey on down to Rosarito or Ensenada and film something there. It's a shame that the area is so different from in the 60s and 70s when it was REALLY fun to be in Tijuana and your only concern was not getting a venereal disease from the "chicas" in Zona Norte. As a native Tijuanan I thank you very much.
@AgileHProductions true. even the naties came over teh siberian land bridge. from what ive heard. BUT until we find evidence of people here earlier than them, then i agree. BUT agreed on the racism part. i have a rather naive viewpoint on this. there is no mexican race, or black or whatever. we all all part of one race. the human race. maybe once day the racist from all sides will get along. really no hope of changing the old timers views. but educating the younger folks , take care
@Westmoon67 shut the fuck up you dont know shit about nothing people like u are so fucking ignorant if you dislike it so much dont go there hoe. if it wasn't for the Mexicans and there hard work in the us doing ur fucking dirty job u guys wouldn't be shit.
shut the fuck up you dont know shit about nothing people like u are so fucking ignorant if you dislike it so much dont go there hoe. if it wasn't for the Mexicans and there hard work in the us doing ur fucking dirty job u guys wouldn't be shit.
@Westmoon67 so are you saying that mexican tourists are not welcomed in the US?? we should treat US tourist the same way then, you do know that there's hundreds of people living in TJ that cross the border every day to go to school or work, hang out in a bar, go to a mall, restaurant, or just to buy a movie? and also hundreds of people living in SD that cross the border every day to go to school or work, go to eat seafood, tacos, watch a movie (movie theaters are cheaper), etc., in TJ?
@andresruval i hate to sound stereotypical. and its not meant as such. btu the mexicans are some of the hardest working folks ive ever met. some holding down 2 or 3 jobs at a time. ( im assuming to support loved ones )
@verynice420 I've honestly never seen that many prostitutes every - although I've never gone looking for any. Can you stumble upon "hundreds of prostitutes"?
@AgileHProductions I seen a video of a guy filming the never ending line of prostitutes I think its calle"zona norte" too many to choose from lol ....."very nice how much" -borat quote
@nuttyforestofsugar you are very ignorant, Mexico is the 13th richest country in the world and mexico city is the 8th richest city in the world and are the 4th most biodiverse country in the world and the 8th most visited country in the world. and more than 70% of Mexicans are not poor, that places him as semi-peripheral country, YOU HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL, and we are the 2nd richest country in Latin America and 3rd in all America! You are a fucking bastard
@mexicoelmejor1 you should not have used that language. mexico is seen as poor and corrupt by most people. i just wanted to understand why. americans dont want to move to mexico, but there are so many mexicans trying to get into the usa every day, mostly illegal aliens.
@ Nuttyforestofsugar Mexicans cross the U.S. border because they pay in dollars and the dollar is more expensive than Mexican currency, and decreased the number of Mexicans crossing the border ,I live in Mexico City and I see every day to central.americans trying to get to northern Mexico across the border, Mexico is not poor only pay better than in the U.S. and without the work of the Mexican United States would be in ruins, without agriculture, livestock and many other primary activities
@mexicoelmejor1 ok, I hear you. i am not convinced that the usa would be in ruins if it was not for cheap mexican labor. do these people pay taxes? So you are also saying that mexico has a much better standard of living than other latino countries? why is this?
@nuttyforestofsugar I'm not going to be teaching you ok? you must learn general knowledge and Mexico have higher living standards than other Latin American countries, which I think are better live as Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, and see that there are countries like the U.S. living because many people think that in Mexico there are only indigenous, but the reality is that only 6% of the Mexican population is indigenous and is in danger of extinction of indigenous
@bittercottoncandy like we have good public services, have rights, jobs, good housing, we have freedom of speech, our streets are clean, have good cities etc ... that's a good living and Mexico, Brazil and Argentina are the best in Latin America, for you who is good living?
@mexicoelmejor1 In Latin America, the best example is Chile: very advanced democracy, stable economy, low criminality, etc.. I think Mexico is behind Argentina and even Uruguay (except for GDP). Mind you, I think Mexico could be a big country if it weren't for the corruption, violence and the immigration problems you got there. Until you sort that out, it will never be regarded as an advanced place.
@mexicoelmejor1 Mexico is only a good country to live in if you are rich, if you are poor it's a terrible country to live in, most people in Mexico are poor and 40 percent of the population in Mexico live below the poverty line and the average wage in Mexico is only 3 dollars a day, Mexico is also a dangerous country and Mexico has one of the highest crime rates and one of the highest murder rates in the world.
"these people get sick a lot: .... really? was that honestly necessary.. i never seem to find a video.. that portrays mexico with beauty.. and when i think i do its ALWAYS sarcasm and whatnot. it annoys the shit out of me that this guy has to do all these stereotypical things and say stereotypical stupid irrational and UNNECESSARY comments. what a negative travel guide. oh but if it was spain suddenly wine drinking daily is not considered lazyiness..-.- wtf seriously.
@cheshirecatsaira I didn't set out to portray Mexico with beauty. My goal was to honestly portray what I found in Tijuana. It is not necessarily a pretty place and they have a ton of pharmacies. I tried to add some humor to the video, but I apologize that you found it offensive.

TJ is a great place. Do not believe any tales about "danger". The people of Baja are friendly and honest and peaceloving. The drug dealers don't want anything from you. I plan to retire in Baja this year. I love the place.

@BoianTheTank a city in Mexico had over 3000 deaths yea i think that's more dangerous than the city of Detroit.
gato123452 7 months ago
@gato123452 My point being, you have gang related violence, corruption, drugs, ... in ever country. So don't pretend Mexico is the most dangerous.
BoianTheTank 7 months ago
@NYCsPLAYA Ay, Dios mio! Since 2004 , around 200 Americans have been killed by the drug cartel. Out of those people, over 75% of them were actually INVOLVED in the drug cartel.
Just because the news blows up the issue, it does not mean that it is correct. Mexico is a very safe country, but you need to remember your street smarts. It's the same with LA, New York, Chicago, and other big cities.
My mom's family is from Mexico and I've been to Mexico a billion times. Yet, I'm alive and well!
TheDiverpro 7 months ago
@TheDiverpro Sorry, but 200 people KILLED is a LOT in 7 years. That's almost 30 americans murdered per year. Sounds pertty damn dangerous to mt.
investmjr 7 months ago
@investmjr Did you not read that over 75% of Americans killed in Mexico were INVOLVED in the drug cartel? That means less than 50 innocent Americans have died in Mexico in the past 7 years.
More Americans have been killed by terrorists on American soil. More Americans have been killed by the American drug cartel on American soil. More Americans have been slaughtered by gang violence on American soil.
The world is a dangerous place and you will find innocent deaths where ever you go.
TheDiverpro 7 months ago
@TheDiverpro OK, 70 is a lot. We're talking about MURDERS here, not petty theft or cloudy days. So I guess I'm OK as long as someone doesn't mistake me for someone that is involved in/looking for drugs?? I might as well take a tour of South Chicago while I'm at it cause hey, most of the violence there is gang related. I can stroll on through and be just fine. I'll throw in East Oakland too. They'll leave me alone as long as I'm not affiliated with a gang . . . Right.
investmjr 7 months ago
@investmjr I was actually wrong. Those 200 were killed by a mixture of gang violence, such as the cartel, political guerrillas, and gangs.
And no. If they want to kill you, they'll kill you. Murderers don't give a care about you. It doesn't matter if you're affiliated with them or not. If they have a want or a reason to kill you. they will. Much of the time it's because they can ransom you for money.
But don't think that Mexico is some hell whole of a country. Mexico is a very safe country.
TheDiverpro 7 months ago
@investmjr Mexico has gotten a bad reputation by the media. Sadly, it scares Americans to death and they believe it will happen to them too. Thefts and violence happens everywhere, but that is NOT what Americans are afraid of. They think that if they cross the boarder, the drug cartel (or any of the variants) will kill them in the matter of seconds.
Mexico is not like that. My mother's family came from Juarez, Mexico and even to this day they miss living there. Mexico is friendly and very safe.
TheDiverpro 7 months ago
@TheDiverpro I am sure there are parts that are safe and some people have great experiences there. Still, the rash of women being murdered and dismembered on almost a daily basis does not happen in a "safe" country. The next annointed leader being shot in the head in broad daylight doesn't happen in a "safe" country. You cannot pay the police off in a "safe" country. These are not urban myths or media creations - they are facts. The US has nothing comparable - at all.
investmjr 7 months ago
@investmjr Read the news. You'll be shocked at the violence that goes on here in the "safety" of America. Oh and I bet you didn't read about Gabrielle Giffords, the US Congresswoman who was shot in the head. And yes, police here in America can be paid off too. Our local Police chief was being paid by a local drug gang to "over look" the situation.
It's sickening that you want to paint Mexico as a country of pure social catastrophe and it's rather insulting.
TheDiverpro 7 months ago
@TheDiverpro Please dude, please. Giffords was not trying to reform the ENTIRE United States government, and she was not shot because of it. That was an isolated incident. I'm not going to argue that Mexico is as safe as the US - It's just rediculous. Countries with struggling economies such as Mexico have major problems, and that's just a fact you'll have to admit.. It may not be as bad as people say, but you're also not living in reality with some of these comments.
investmjr 7 months ago
@investmjr By the way people have commented on your youtube profile page, it doesn't seem like you are a very kind or nice person.
I realize that I can't change your opinion and I don't really care to do so.
There are problems everywhere on this earth and you just have to face the facts. And, it doesn't matter what country, they will have their own corruption, unique problems, ans social crises. Even America, in all of its glory, has major problems.
Viva México y los Estados Unidos!

freddcas1 8 months ago

As a native Tijuanan I thank you very much.

nuttyforestofsugar 9 months ago
@nuttyforestofsugar you are very ignorant, Mexico is the 13th richest country in the world and mexico city is the 8th richest city in the world and are the 4th most biodiverse country in the world and the 8th most visited country in the world. and more than 70% of Mexicans are not poor, that places him as semi-peripheral country, YOU HAVE TO GO TO SCHOOL, and we are the 2nd richest country in Latin America and 3rd in all America! You are a fucking bastard
mexicoelmejor1 9 months ago
@mexicoelmejor1 you should not have used that language. mexico is seen as poor and corrupt by most people. i just wanted to understand why. americans dont want to move to mexico, but there are so many mexicans trying to get into the usa every day, mostly illegal aliens.
nuttyforestofsugar 9 months ago
@ Nuttyforestofsugar Mexicans cross the U.S. border because they pay in dollars and the dollar is more expensive than Mexican currency, and decreased the number of Mexicans crossing the border ,I live in Mexico City and I see every day to central.americans trying to get to northern Mexico across the border, Mexico is not poor only pay better than in the U.S. and without the work of the Mexican United States would be in ruins, without agriculture, livestock and many other primary activities
mexicoelmejor1 9 months ago
@mexicoelmejor1 ok, I hear you. i am not convinced that the usa would be in ruins if it was not for cheap mexican labor. do these people pay taxes? So you are also saying that mexico has a much better standard of living than other latino countries? why is this?
nuttyforestofsugar 9 months ago
@nuttyforestofsugar I'm not going to be teaching you ok? you must learn general knowledge and Mexico have higher living standards than other Latin American countries, which I think are better live as Argentina, Brazil and Mexico, and see that there are countries like the U.S. living because many people think that in Mexico there are only indigenous, but the reality is that only 6% of the Mexican population is indigenous and is in danger of extinction of indigenous
mexicoelmejor1 9 months ago
@mexicoelmejor1 Higher living standards in terms of what?
bittercottoncandy 9 months ago
@bittercottoncandy like we have good public services, have rights, jobs, good housing, we have freedom of speech, our streets are clean, have good cities etc ... that's a good living and Mexico, Brazil and Argentina are the best in Latin America, for you who is good living?
mexicoelmejor1 9 months ago
@mexicoelmejor1 In Latin America, the best example is Chile: very advanced democracy, stable economy, low criminality, etc.. I think Mexico is behind Argentina and even Uruguay (except for GDP). Mind you, I think Mexico could be a big country if it weren't for the corruption, violence and the immigration problems you got there. Until you sort that out, it will never be regarded as an advanced place.
bittercottoncandy 9 months ago
@mexicoelmejor1 Mexico is only a good country to live in if you are rich, if you are poor it's a terrible country to live in, most people in Mexico are poor and 40 percent of the population in Mexico live below the poverty line and the average wage in Mexico is only 3 dollars a day, Mexico is also a dangerous country and Mexico has one of the highest crime rates and one of the highest murder rates in the world.
