@TenouHaruka0 Ahhhh yes!!! Nothing better than the good ol' WIPEOUT screen... I mean you had to be pretty piss poor to finish behind JON., so it deserved an epic loser screen like that.
I'm wondering something. When I played this game a LONG time ago, there was a way in which, when you click "Start Next Race", it does the Toyota "I love what you do for me" jingle and instead of that "S" transition, it uses the Toyota logo. I can't seem to find a place where I can find out how that happens (if it's only on 2 player games or what). Any ideas?
This music has been in repeated in my head for many MANY years, I "just now" remember the title of the damn game and the music is just as I remember it.
You're using the wrong strategy ;) Don't waste your money on nitro's .. it's all about surviving in the beginning, until you're maxed out on upgrades. Start off with acceleration --> tires --> chocks --> top speed. You probably knew this though xp
@123TauruZ321... Actually, this game was ALL ABOUT the "Nitro's". I would start the game off by spending my ENTIRE amount of cash on nothing but Nitro's (which would usually be just enought to finish first place). Then, I would buy enough Nitro's to get me back up to AT LEAST 10, and any money left over would go to vehicle upgrades.
Of course, this strategy only worked if you were good enough to take first place with a totally NON-upgraded truck.
@snoopyprobbing... Ya, your "MAIN" strategy should be to keep "Ivan" (the silver truck) from winning as much as possible (so that he doesn't start to stock-pile those nitros). If you just concentrate on up-grading your truck (and NOT winning the race), by the time your truck is FULLY up-graded HE will have a HUGE pile of Nitros to use against you. And believe me... HE USES THEM!!
Game goes on forever, thats what you call playtime. Compare to all the actual games with 8 our's to play through xD i really loved that game and im going to buy it!
If only this were the actual arcade music! Wow such power and authority the snes sound chip had! Lol, used to have this until my brother lent it to a friend and then he moved to Florida with it!!! Lol
The outfits on the women are much more conservative in this one... regular street clothes instead of skimpy bikinis. The Genesis version was much more "raw" in that degree. The music was less advanced, but more like the arcade. The NES version was the only one to have 4 player simultaneous action (the arcade was 3 player). I miss the 360 degree steering wheels of the arcade! classic game
OMG i should have looked this up sooner i fucking played this game all day over 24 hours trying to beat it. 1st i max out all the items than i kept on maxing on my nitro my not leting the sliver car get 1st if u keep on doing this the silver can would only have 10 nitro than he is easy to beat after that i was thinking i had to beat every record the silver car had after that didnt work i was thinking i had to max out the money to 999,999,999.....and that was my whole day plz kill me now
@Dannzt Yep I'm sure the game is endless. Never finished it when I was a kid, I had the exact same situation. Also the grey fucker seems to be superior all the time until you get all the stats maxed out.
@BMRProd yeah, world 7 in mario bros 3, sagat in street fighter 2, donkey kong jr in mario kart and that grey asshole in super off road have one thing in common, they all pissed the shit out of me during my snes era=D
The main strategy is to make the grey car's supplies down. Making him to gain less money and thus. Decreasing his turbos. I use to rock at thing game!!
The music in this game is good. But I wish that the Follins had wrote MORE tunes for this game. still THIS MUSIC MAKES A LOT OF DISTORSION and is very good!!
I love how in between races they play the "I love what you do for me, Toyota!" tune. It's cool to see that an actual company puts in their ads as part of their ad campaign in this game, where games these days, they always make up fake names heh.
Great game... it's too bad the game was only 1 or 2 player. A 3 or 4 player at a time game would've REALLY ROCKED!!

I always max the enhancements this way:
Acceleration
Tires
Shocks
Max speed
Then i buy nitros for all the cash and go for first place ^^ But it gets more and more difficult, both tracks and racers!!
