Using a right handed camera is fine for me but when I handhold my 70-200 f/2.8 IS or larger it would be much nicer if I could use my dominant hand instead, particularly when using a separate focus button.

What is utterly ridiculous, is that the 35mm style camera IS left-handed to begin with! Oscar Barnak, the inventor of the Leica was left-handed which is the reason that the controls requiring fine motor control are under left hand control; focus, aperture and on some cameras, exposure speed, all this while being *carried* by the left hand. The right hand should only rest on the camera. Only because Japan has taken over camera design have more and more controls moved to the right side.
