Alas, AWTD only ripped off the opening to You Know My Name, which in my opinion is the best Bond song of recent years. The similarity ends there. And the Broccoli clan hired Jack White and Alicia Keyes to write a song; they had no idea the end result would be so mediocre, but they had to accept it anyway because they were out of time. If only Amy Winehouse had pulled through!

@MajorLiteral My understanding was that Keys and White were hired after the Amy Winehouse track fell through (and she certainly isn't coming back to finish it now!) so Broccoli and Wilson had to accept whatever they came up with lest they run out of time. Meanwhile, however, David Arnold was working with Shirley Bassey on a new album, and he snuck themes from the film into the track "No Good About Goodbye," just in case they ended up needing a song. Were these the tracks you were talking about?
