  • In the prime of Harry Reids day, "negro" was a polite term.

  • if a republican would have said it would have been the end of the world and the MSM would have happily gone after the repub.......and those RINOs would have gone around apologizing....

  • i agree with george will... what reid is saying is that america would not elect a black democrat the shade of yaphet koto.

  • this isnt racism. harry reid is a smart individual that is pointing out the countries racism. not his own.

  • "This has already drawn a lot of criticism, so let's just fan the flames of a non-story because we think that's the reason why you sit through commercials". PUKE.

  • I'm not a fan of either of the Cheney's but Liz is right in this case. If a white republican senator said that about Obama the media would've gone crazy demanding his resignation. Hypocrisy at it's finest!

  • I hope ABC keeps Liz Cheney in the the lime light because she reminds us of the 8 years of lying which seams to run in her blood!!!

  • We should hang that filthy cunt.

  • Yeah ... Liz is right .. Racism is bad no matter what ... Harry Reid is dirt ..

  • Harry Reid is a liberal? Give me a break, Liz. The Democratic Party is center-right at this point. The Republican Party has fallen off the map.

  • @badtown88 To say the Democratic Party is center-right at this point is absurd at best. Center-right as compared to what? Tyranny? This is the farthest left the Democratic Party has been probably since Wilson and FDR.

  • @mikebri527

Total bullshit. Far left economically, yes. Socially the Democrats don't speak for any liberals, and you can take that to the fucking bank, my friend. They are a party running scared and they're scared of the theocratic fascists in the GOP. The fact that the majority of this retarded country believes Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are liberals sickens me.

  • @badtown88 NO it's not total bull. You just admitted it yourself that I'M RIGHT on economic issues. As far as social issues, give me a break, no one who's "center right" in this country believes in govn't run healthcare, paying for someone else's abortion, and disrespecting basic Judeo-Christian beliefs and values. They might not agree with it but they respect it. Pelosi and Reid do nothing of the sort. Also, just because you throw the F-bomb at me doesn't make your case stronger.

  • If Liz Cheney is looking for a smoking gun, she might want to check her daddy's closet first.

  • Go Liz. Torture the people who want to hurt our nation. Mercilessly. Without remorse. So that others wanting to do the same shake with fear.

  • is liz cheney the lesbian one?

  • George Will is right.

    Cry more libs.

  • George who? Huh? Who's George Wile?

Anyway, I love Liz Cheney. She's awesome. I hope she runs for office. The entire Cheney family knows exactly how to defend this country and explain themselves very, very well.

  • Cheney = Satan

  • You are gullable beyond belief. There is not one thing that comes out of her mouth that she believes. She is trying to protect her criminal father. George Will(by the way) has only been a leading conservative media pundit for the last 30 or 35 yrs.

  • Why is anyone taking Liz Cheney seriously, why is she on tv, and why does she think she could ever match George Will? She's a clueless goose-stepping moran.

  • Cheney is a political failure.

    He was wrong about everything.

Like everyone else Fox News hires

  • The Cheney family has polluted conservatism. Mary is a complete hypocrite. "Dick" is slime. Liz carries on the tradition of defending torture and striking the oh so politically correct posture on "racism." God forbid someone speak plainly and honestly.

  • are you a chick

  • Why is Liz Cheney on TV?? She is a fool who only spews misinformation for her own personal gain. She is an opportunist. I will stop watching shows she is on!

  • so, this stupid dick-envy bitch is saying there's no strong preference in this country when it comes to skin shapes and proper english or ebonics, right?

and just by stating a fact there is such a preference makes one racist, eh?

    well, sorry!

i just can't picture chickhawk dick's sprawn having jungle fever!

    you?

  • Why is she even at that table? Can not these people go away?

  • Ried and his supporters are racist Liz layed it out clearly. Even M.L.K's kids say so.

  • Liz cheney is a dick!

  • That's her dad. She's a cunt. Just wanted to clarify.

  • @KakashiBallZ no her too, she wants to be a well paid talking head.

  • He is a failure.

The war didn't take 6 months and we were not greated as heros.

  • Google "Many Small Fission Nukes at the WTC"

  • What Reid said what not racist. He was being truthful, which I rare for a liberal, but he was. The problem is that if a Republican had said that very same thing, the media would be all over him or her like a cheap suit.

  • @CommonSenseJoe Republicans often say racist and ridiculous things because they are racist and ridiculous. That is why the media goes after those, "strom thurmond", types.

However Reid was right, their are polarizing issues like race in the US and to have mainstream appeal you need to be able to straddle many fences. This is why black men like, Alan Keynes could never be president. Keynes is too obviously black. He is also too obviously stupid. Inflexible people can't win mainstream election.

  • It is called lying and no one does it better than President Obama. Forget the color of his skin, and look at the content of his character. He lies and gets away with it because the media wants him to succeed.

  • @CommonSenseJoe Actually he hasn't lied, he has had to solve problems created by liars. You say forget the colour of his skin, i'd advise you to do the same. Now then Joe, use your common sense, if you and many others, liberals as well as conservatives, did so, you'd realize that it is never easy to solve hard problems in the real world. In many cases you start with imperfect solutions and improve them over time. Difficult problems are not usually solved by simple solutions or simple thinkers.

  • You don't solve hard problem by lying about the solutions to get elected.

  • I second that.

  • CommonSenseJoe: How do you think that liberals rarely tell the truth...are we assuming that the recent Bush administration, which need I remind you was REPUBLICAN, could tell the truth about anything (weapons of mass destruction for one)..it was an administration of LIES. Regardless there is no difference between parties anymore. None at all. All you neo-coservatives will need something else to hate...which seems you are all very good at doing. By the by: liberal means literally 'one who thinks'

  • No one lied about WMDs. They were using intelligence that they should never had to have relied on in the first place. Saddam was suppose to be under monitoring and inspections. Liberal means stupid in my book.

  • @CommonSenseJoe They did lie. The UN Inspector was in Iraq against George Bush's loud objections, and his preliminary findings strongly indicated what was later confirmed. There were no wmds in Iraq. The whole build up to the Iraq war was a lie. They said that Iraq had aluminum tubes, that were used to moderate nuclear reactions, anyone who has done high school level physics knows that is impossible, aluminum atoms are too heavy to be used as moderators in nuclear reactions. all stupid lies

  • This is the same UN inspector that said Saddam was in material violation of the cease-fire agreement. I love the way you put that "preliminary finds", "strongly indicated". No one knew for certain, and after 911 certainty was essential.

  • "One of the things that makes the American people frustrated..."

Really Liz? The American people were polled on this issue? Or is it you that is "frustrated" and is using the cover of the American people to voice your personal views...

Or maybe she thinks she IS the American people...

  • @EnhancementSmoker No She just hopes she will be a successful liar, like her Dad. She also hopes, along with the rest of the GOP that this can become another wasteful farce like the Death Panels, etc. She thinks it's worth a shot. Hopefully it's not.

  • Dick Cheney used to fly in an airplance called "The Spirit of Strom Thurmand"

    Im not kidding...look it up...

Im not sure if she is the most qualified to judge what is or isnt racist...

  • Ahhh I get it! Its like how Rush and Beck appeal to racists.

  • Liz Cheney's father is a failure.

  • @MendingMedia He is not a failure, he has succeeded in becoming VP, he successfully advanced all manner of ridiculous ideas. He is also succeeding in his new goal of becoming a paid TV personality. He is very successful, he is a successful con man. If people don't like what he says they shouldn't listen. It is their fault, they listened to him and other ridiculous celebrity politicians. If he thought he couldn't fool people with nonsense he wouldn't say the things he says, ditto for his kid

  • Liz has a point. Conservatives do get called out for racism faster than liberals. But she forgot to add that a disproportionate number of conservatives are actual racists (compared to liberals). Go figure. This is just my observation from growing up in the south.

    I could be wrong...

George Will was right. Good on him for seeing it like it is.

  • Why couldn't either of my parents have been fat, evil, bought and paid for by the oil companies Vice-Presidents?! Why?!

  • George Will is really very silly. To argue that those comments weren't racist is patently absurd.

  • @KinglyNumbaOne Both George Will and Sen. Harry Reid are right. Barack Obama's light skin and his speech did play into election. Whites find you tolerable if you speak without discernable dialect. Blacks will think of you as one of them if you do. To get the votes of both groups, you have to modulate, you have to be mindful of your presentation when you speak to audiences that are mostly composed of one group or another. That is called politics.

Harry Reid was right, that's called intelligence

  • also

  • seriously, why the FUCK is Cheney or any of his progeny even taken the least bit seriously at this point?

  • Liz quit with the po-faced trolling and go plan the myriad ways you're going to torture detainees when you get elected Empreror Palpatine in 2016.

  • Harry Reid used some outdated terminology, but for once George Will is right. Reid was objectively discussing aspects of Obama's marketability as a candidate, not making a personal judgement about him. Any political stategist would have said the same thing and no doubt did.

  • You right! Let's talk about he said, she said, like school kids while our Nation goes down the shit hole! This is a distraction to take real issues that affect the American Citizens: (Not in any order) 1- War 2- Economy 3- Health Care 3- Security 4-Senior Citizens 5- Veterans 6- Infrastructure 7- Unemployment 8- Crime 9- Banks 10- Housing I could type here all day, but everyone loves a good rumor. Are these the best America has to offer to make the "serve" their districts?

  • @emjayay

Perhaps the question is how would such remarks be recieved if a Republican had made them? Lest you think this is purely theoretical, lets recall the very different experiences of Trent Lott and Senator Dodd.

What do you think would happen to a Republican with Senator Byrd's past?

  • Independent vote just turn conservative. Im sick of liberal getting a free pass.

  • Now I invite you all to do a mental lineup of the "people of color" surrounding the Anointed One, ObamaNation.

Evaluate the underlying racism of the President on this model:

(Spike Lee movie School Daze) : "Throughout the film, the predominantly light-skinned African American women of the Gamma Rays, a women's auxiliary to the Gamma Phi Gamma fraternity, battle it out with a number of natural-coifed fellow co-eds, who are predominantly dark-skinned..."

    :^)

  • If you're talking color... look at who the president goes to bed with. His wife is of the darker complexion. What racism?

  • @pamiety:

That is an insightful observation. Thank you for contributing it.

  • This is interesting. On one hand George Will is right. Harry Reid was just stating a fact. Obama is half Caucasian and he doesnt speak with an identifiably African American dialect and those qualities probably did make him more palatable to many voters. However Liz Chenny is right in that by the standards of speech imposed on us, mainly by the race conscious liberals, what Harry Reid said is very racist. So actually what this shows is that a comment can be racist and at the same time be true.

  • You should visit "This Week" online and listen to the full discussion. This clip is edited and distorts the discussion.

  • @yahazif

"... by the standards of speech imposed on us ..."

under a fatwah issued under Shari'a Law by Imam Sharpton. :^)

  • Harry Reid was just saying as what we blacks would say from the hood ,that Harry feels more comfortbale with a house negro than a field negro ! IT is what it is .

  • "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man" - Joe Biden (February 2007)

  • Obama picked Biden as his running mate. I guess he wasn't too offended.
