  • @brickriverband Join the crowd bro

  • @brickriverband

the main thing about travel is, you gotta go somewhere else!

and you can't wait around for anyone, just do it.

you have the skill & the gear, so unless you have kids, there's no excuse.

  • Scorchin' licks. Awesome

  • Type PRIZE before youtube and hit enter

  • Very nice video and tons of respect for playing in a condition like that. I wouldn't have the patience to play with my hands shaking.

  • This guy IS blue! Seems like an old VHS recording from the 80s. Wonder what's he's up to these days?

  • No sound !

  • what key is this anywy?

  • The first thing I noticed was(maybe it was the camera or me being drunk) that your hand was shaking, but then a couple of seconds I realized you are GREAT! very nice tone great blues feel, I liked to hear A full on song from you! seriuosly you;ve got skills! btw I;m dtuch and dyslectic so sorry if I made any spelling mistakes:P

  • @brickriverband Yeah I also thought "Hmm this guys is pretty nervous or maybe camera shy and it seems he's kinda average. But then I really grasped onto your nice vibrato and blues feel especially when I heard riff 7, now I think you're really Ace :D

  • yummmm got some Ray in you=)

  • Great!

  • is your guitar, tuned a half step down?

  • @hawaiidoves yep , thats what it says in the description. lol

  • @hawaiidoves Thats the only way to play the blues!

  • nerves give you a good vibrato!, :D. well done

  • This is 1/2 step down right? Eb?

  • I know I've been saying for a while that another video is coming, unfortunately I no loger have a camera so I have to get a new one...Once I do I will post some more licks and stuff..

  • you use a lot of BB Kings'.. clean accent huh... good job dude

  • lick 3 is BB king's thrill is gone..

  • That guitar looks exactly like my PRS Santana SE. What is it?

  • @Englishdosser86 It's a Fender Strat.

  • that would be really cool if i knew what you were playing in terms of keys

  • @SubZero8192 Majority of the stuff in this video I did in the key of B..I didn't post the key because they are all movable licks that can be used in any key.

  • thanks for putting this up. i have saved it in my favourites and am endevouring to memories them. you have a great feel for the bb king sounding stuff! goodonya!

  • Is anyone else not getting the audio?

  • Thanks .hope you dont mind me using one in king of the blues 2010 !

  • @ariellehunter Go for it...I was going to enter KOTB myself this year (2010) but my dad got cancer and I've been doing LOTS of running around with him. Next year for sure though.

  • This is like VHS YouTube

  • Thanks! Good playing and licks... Btw, that looks like a delirium shake of an alcoholic (especially when you are ill)... I hope you don't drink!

  • @kingofskateop To answer this NO I do not drink ..

  • stop asking the same fucking questions about a 1/2 step and his hand shaking.... a lot of blues is played a half step down and the guy is a little sick ----- THIS IS AN EXCELLENT LESSON.. ... stop bitching and learn from a great blues guitarist theres a lot of great licks here --- keep 'em coming brotha !

  • @slowhand633 haha , plonkers arnt they . It says what he was tuned to in video description , and personally i was looking where his fingers were going not if his hands are shaking...lol awesome lesson and talent , ive created a playlist of lick lessons especially from watching this video. Great post brickriverband!!! 5 stars brother

  • Great Licks

  • Best video on youtube. I ain't kidding.

  • your pinky seems very nervous :D

    great vid!

  • Hey! This was %^&*$ helpful! It takes a while to find something that actually teaches you a new lick on here sometimes. Tonight I struck gold. Thanks.

  • 2nd 3rd 4th lick are from texas flood !! cool nice job !!

  • Sweet Raunchy Licks!

  • what happen to the sound? i can't hear anything???

  • Classic licks and you play them with oul

  • great licks really helped me add more licks in my arsenal...tabs would have been so much better but great job 5 stars

  • Thanks!

  • sounds like hear my train a comin.

  • really nice vibrato.

  • thank you !

  • Tuned to Eb?

  • e flat its tuned a half step down from 440 standard

  • @parton226

    yes i know.

but some may not, so good post!

  • man you're shaking... nice licks

  • @johncharlescruz that's not shaking, that's vibrato =P

  • @johncharlescruz if you're talking about his hand shaking in between licks, i think it's just the poor quality of the video.

  • nice!

  • do you have a pedal that auto-tunes down? sounds like you're getting two different tones that are in different keys--one from the actual sound of your strings getting hit and the other from the amp.

  • micstew....that pinging is actually a harmonizer pedal he's using. my guess is the boss super set on 2 octaves higher. The pedal actually worsens the sound.....turn it off...play it natural.....

  • I like it a lot

  • Dude, thanks a lot. I'm starting on them now. Cool licks!!

  • Merci pour le partage

  • fantastic

  • Nice licks. Not sure where the pinging is coming from - someone occasionally banging on a cymbal?

Also for future lesson vids, it would be helpful for you to tune back to standard 440.

  • i just love your vibrato, you are great

  • You have Good vibrato!!

  • NICE!

  • Gracias mi pana.Buena onda.

  • This is one of my favorite videos in my collection of "guitar solo" folders. A lot to learn and apply here. Thank you brickriverband!!

  • your bibrato looks more like that you are nervous

  • Well shake on my my freind you ROCK!!!and i hope your doing better these days, im sure this will help a lot of people from beginner to advance and to all of those, we thank you.........

  • If this guy can play this while shaking to death because he is so fucking sick, then he must truly have the spirit of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix...I cant play this shit when I'm feeling 100%, but this guy can play it and he's sick as fuck.

  • yes hes shaking but you dont know if hes sick sorry your comments are way out of line. he generously gives us this video and thats all you can say?

  • lol i'm wondering why you got a "-2".

  • great job! thanks for sharing!

  • Alot of ppl ask why I was tuned down a 1/2 step during this video..At the time I was playing for an SRV tribute band so I just kept my guitars tuned down a 1/2 step..And to answer any more questions about my hands shaking..I was extremely sick at the time and the Meds I was on at the time cause the trembling...

  • i like the video and im learning the licks i think it would helpful if you mention who use the licks just as reference. thanks

  • @brickriverband Great post!! thanx a million brother!! gonna get on these right now. haha if only people would read video descriptions before posting comments eh? tk

  • Nervosity isnt a word, stress would be right. And its not freaking its fucking

    have a nice day :)

  • very cool dude! congrats

  • why is your little finger trembling?

  • u mean the pinky?

  • vibrato, perhaps.

  • Ever heard about stress ? :P

  • I mea, nervosity ? or something like that... My freaking english is quite poor... Sorry for the confusion, if there was confusion !

  • I was shaky when I made the video cause I was extremely sick at the time when I made it and the meds I was on were cause my hands to tremble....I've been asked a bunch of times about this gos knows how many times I've answered this question in all the comments on here...lol...

  • Good job on these, they helped a bunch...nice vibrato too. I noticed youre hands were shaking quite a bit...is it because you were nervous XD

  • Congratulations, great licks !!!

  • THanks for sharing your talent, it does help me alot!!! Hope to see more of your lesson. CHeers

  • 2nd one sounds like red house

  • stevie ray vaughan, albert king style

  • WTF NO SOUND!

  • why tune down?

  • very bluesy or extremely original rock (hendrix)

  • makes the strings easier to bend to higher pitches.

  • no talent, just practice and some feeling. Talent is an excuse why others don't pick up music or paint a portrait. Practice, time and feeling.

  • i have been playing 13 years and am self taught (aside from picking the brains of guys like you). this has helped me SOOO much. i thought i had hit a wall and couldnt do anymore on my own and though it was with your help, im over that wall. THANK YOU!!!!!!!! any more licks/lessons to follow??

  • like the guy said above...no talkin, no sellin...just plain talent...

  • you gotta do it slower...cant tell which frets ur on...

  • Good number.

  • Hey man, thanks for posting those! I was trying to figure out a slide on one of those licks that Stevie did and you had it. Very happy indeed...very nice of you to contribute your work. Much appreciated! Some people dont realize how subtle some of those tones are.

  • Lots of really good licks. Thanks

  • the crap video quality makes it sound more blues like:D

  • it sounds like you "tuned to Eb" by using an octaver, because i can hear notes from the actual guitar itself, not the amp, that sound a semitone higher then the ones played through the amp... what gives? o.0

  • The video looks like it was made in 80's :). Nice licks though.

  • i think your nervous
