Hello Colin, Watching your clips has inspired me to start drawing again.I've finished my first picture and would like to know if you use a fixative,if so could you recommend which to use.Thanks,look forward to your next post.
Thank you for your interest. I try not to use a fixative on my work as it dulls the picture down and takes the life out of it. However if it is unavoidable then I would recommend 'Perfix' by Daler Rowney.

The original picture was taken from an old black and white photograph of around 1870. Eats Grinstead today looks completely different now, but the church still remains. The posts in the foreground are part of the 'toll gate' that was in exsistence at that time.

We had an outside light post that looked exactly like the one in the picture. I thought they'd all but disappeared.
I haven't seen one in a long time.
