@gugabool1 My amp is a very basic Marshall 15 watts with a distorsion included. It is amazing, and I think my guitar is the element that provides this peculiar sound! and I don't use any pedal :)

this is an excellent cover. you have a great guitar and you play very well. you do very well the techniques that the solo guitar from the song does. can you please post some tabs from what you play ( i know you learnt it by ear) or make slow version??

that'll be kind o heavy b-52's are more like mesa types. try a vox ac30 or anything that has british chimey overdrive tones. Hugh harris uses a hiwatt and a marshall 1974x by the way. Luke uses a fender blues junior.
