This probably sounds really petty of me to mention it, but this movie didn't have a single catchy musical tune like (most?) Disney movies have. It became as popular and mainstream as it is without the aid of 30+ minutes of epic-ass songs and it even retained a sold G rating according to the Motion Picture Association of America all the while maintaining its deeply enriching experience. In hindsight, its probably why it was only 1 hr. 9 mins. long. Just thought I'd throw in that one small detail.
Johnny Depp would be an awesome egg-stealer (or egg-snatcher, I can't remember). Those two always made me laugh, having him do it would probably mean I end up in hospital for over laughing.
Very good review!! Nice to hear somebody finally commenting it without saying all the time how lame and crappy the sequels were. I'm a huge fan of letter sequels(7-12) and I'm awfully tired reading and hearing " The orginal was great, but the sequels suck ass" or "hundreds of unnecessary crappy sequels"
About Johny Depp I think he's be good as Petrie, though considering his reputation i think he'd be good as Littlefoot as well
also Petrie is my favorite and I'm glad you like him too :)
@ShugoShugopower2 Darn it tell me everything,it makes the ending make more sense (It bothers me to see them defeat Sharptooth, only to cut to Littlefoot giving up with the same boulder back in place and no friends)
@Warriorcats64 it also got sent to finland by mistake too) well i sort of remember where little foot was talking to his mother then found the great valley and then went back to get the others (sharptooth scene then) and then he runs back with them to the great valley
And if you want to here a good one Fred from Scooby Doo was the sharptooth in this movie. Seriously his voice Frank Weller played the sharptooth in all the movies
i completely agree with you on the negative points. except that when i was 5 or 6 i thought that the narrator sounded pretty epic XD
did they really air a longer version in germany? because i am from germany, so that would mean that i've been watching the "extended" verison all the time.
but i really don't know, i've read about some scenes which were cut from the film because they were too dark or violent, but it's all very vague...
they could at least put some sketches on the dvd :(

@goldberry1990 is the running time 1hr 20 mins or 1hr 9mins? the latter would be the standard cut

The original was greal! And the ending song, just wow. But after that..they should have just stopped. They really dumbed it down after the original.
