My silly Turkish friend-- a "fatwa" is a legal opinion from a trained Islamic specialist/authority. Most fatwas are on mundane issues and they range from how to do ablutions before prayer to what type of contraceptives are allowed/not allowed. Hundreds if not thousands of "fatwas" are passed everyday. A "fatwa" does not mean a "death sentence." As someone who has some cultural grounding in both the East and West, you should know better than the FOX News that you so love to ridicule.
