Our current system encourages people to live off welfare which isn't right, I agree. When someone works hard but maybe dosn't have the breaks others might, the only way to get help is to quit working and be destitute. Is that really a good way to be a "beacon of the free world"? Might, or money, making right is a poor way to run things.
Our current system is getting worse too. Nobody wants to stand up to those lazy fucks and stop giving them money. I hear there's incentive programs to help people with getting jobs, but I'm tired of being taxed extra so some fat lazy slob with 9 kids and no husband can mooch off of it.
However, there are situations where welfare is warranted, but it's abused WAY too much and WAY too often, and it's by most people on it. Also, being on welfare while in school is OK, in my opinion.
On the flip side, the rich abuse the system by loopholes in he tax system so they don't have to pay. No system is ever going to be perfect, on either end. I am by no means advocating Soviet Russia. We need a free and independent press which we are not getting now any longer. We need to look to our citizens after such events as Katrina or Ike rather than fighting wars in other lands that just line the pockets of fat cats milking the system.
I agree for the most part. I'm all about privately owned businesses that are rather small. Robbing the rich to give to the poor is a great notion, however, in America, ANYBODY can make something of their lives. So robbing the rich isn't required to help the poorer people. Sure, society can stick you down sometimes, but if you're not lazy, you can go to college, generally for free, (grants, loans, etc.) but there's no reason for people say they're born into poverty and embrace socialism.
I also like the small business owner. I think it promotes community and allows for the hard working to make something of themselves. I think the government should be doing more to support the small business, again like universal health care, to help encourage with some safety as there are a lot of business that fail despite hard work. Going to college is great, but loans are certainly not going for free.
Where I am from, grants are really only given to the very poor so again, college is not always an option. Scoialism is not a four letter word and a balance of Socialism and capitalism can work. Too much of either is not going to work. Socialism brought us 40hr work weeks and better working conditions.
It is capitalism that is driving jobs overseas and leaving hard working folks out of work. The working class, not the destitute or the filthy rich, is the backbone of our society. Protect them.

Actually, Cap found 9/11 to be extremely disturbing because it reminded him of the Allies bombing Germany in WW2.
That really screwed with his moral compass.

It was this stupid song text: "I'm real american fighting for every man" or something like that. I got really angry when I heard this bullshit. Dresden, Hiroshima, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Irak; all american benefits!

Do some research, most historians agree that the atomic bombs dropped on Japan saved many lives, both Japanese, and American. It saved the need to invade Japan to end the war, which would end in a lot more blood shed, and a lot more suffering. And the whole world does not hate us.
