You don't understand what's happening here. Up to this point she had only been a Morning Musume member and hadn't joined any sub-groups or shuffle units. This was her first "invitation" which meant more exposure. (In contrast, Aibon was already in Tanpopo and then joined Kiiro 5 as a replacement just like Nono here joined Aoiro 7). This wasn't done to pressure herp or humiliate her, it was done for comedy purposes only. I find it not only funny but Nono is her usual kawaii self in this.

@RG7621 This is because it doesn't really follow a specific rule every single time, but I would say just use the on-reading when you have compound kanji words. You will at least be right half of the time or more haha.

It's funny to see people guessing when this occurred. It actually aired on Hello! Morning show #18 on August 6, 2000. Tsuji-chan was two months over 13 and just as cute as hell. :)

As far as her joining Aoiro 7.........I think the idea WAS to give her something other than be essentially a backup dancer in MoMuse. I think Kago-chan was already a member of Tanpopo by this time. She made her first appearance on Hello! Morning with Tanpopo on show #13 which aired on July 2, 2000.

The orders said "青色７を救え" (Aoiro 7 o Sukue) = "Help Out Aoiro 7". Since Ichii Sayaka graduated prior to this episode, Aoiro 7 was short one member, so the orders were announcing that Tsuji would be replacing Ichii in the group.

This was in a 2000 episode of Hello! Morning. Tsuji was only 12 in this clip.

Yeah you can tell this when she first started because her hair is really flat and she mumbles. She was really shy when she first started so that's when she was quite. But after being in MM for 3 years and being in Mini Moni and hanging with Kago she got louder and more out going.
