  • Sinhalese and Tamils ahve both lived in SL for atleast100 years and we both came originally from India adn mixed with the local 'Yaksha' Naga' gotras.

Tlday both cultures absolutely belong to SL.

    This is absolutely SL dance.

But it isnt traditional Sinhala or Tamil only - it is both performed complemantarily - which is beautiful. - as a concept & idea, also in the performance. Lets enjoy it and be proud of both!

  • THIS IS THE SLOKA OF LORD GANESH .SO I AM SURE THIS IS FROM INDIA

  • god that was boring

  • beautiful

  • thats not even srilankan..they got nothin unique..they copy from tamils

  • technacally we'er all the same culture....but...im proud to be tamil

  • @gpardhu ....well u don't know about sinhalese people or our culture...itz not copying..thatz because our people respect and learns other cultural dances too..and at the same time we have our own dancing styles as well.thatz what the boy is dancing for...girl is doin baratha dance..our people can dance for any kind of music..thatz what it shows...

  • Sinhalese didn't came from any where ..they are the native sri lankans ..and having more than 500 years of written history ..

and Tamils came from India ..they are not original sri lankans ..

  • @choootymalli

More than 2000 years written and documented history, Malli. Very unique. Although Tamils are not originally from Sri Lankan, they've come and gone and gotten assimilated into the Sinhala population, for centuries, if not for millennia.

  • Different from India, different from any other country & culture...that makes Sri Lanka a unique rich traditionanly country.

GRT Video for reconnecting me of my hertiage which, i dnt see in AMerica.

  • heloooooooooooo pridelion88 a part of this dance is Indian !

  • The part I presume you're refering to is tamil... there are tamils in both SL and india... doesnt make it any less Sri Lankan!

    SL united at last :)

  • she is doing bharatnatyam dickhead.. what are u talking about?!

  • the guy is so handsome

  • it waz aweosome!!!!!!!!!!!

  • how beautiful is it, When these two Cultures stay together.. What the fuck r we doing "Fighting" a god damn "Civil" war when we can dance the hell out like this...Hope peaople will soon recon that..b4 its too late......

  • i agree with that all da way! I reckon it is soo stupid....bloody civil war....my foot!! lol! Yea, may da dance take over the minds of da crazy ones and we shall unite!!

oh god i can't believe that i said that! but yea u get da drift, na?

  • it ant srilankan dance its india it been going 4 100 years man wish our people could move up in stad donig ta same thing 4 years

  • So you're saying just because time goes by we should evolved our dance style just for the sake of it? How dumb is that?

New stuff is always welcome. But our stuff has obviously survived for 2500 years or so. That itself says how pretty and practical it is.

    Listen to yourself.

  • I suppose by doing new stuff you mean we stand in the same place, swaying on the spot while uttering obscenities towards women? Dumb ass!

  • Firstly the sinhalese and tamils originally came from india centuries ago so its apart of our culture too. (Just because we move location doesnt mean we must change)

Secondly even if we didnt its been in our culture like AhinsakaPora said for 2500 years!

  • sinhala pplz did not, i repeat DID NOT come from india.. the tamils did... and roystreet sri lankan dancin is soo much different than indian dancing.. there is a CLEAR distinction between the two.. especially kendy dancing....

  • luvv tha Ves guy tooOOo =]
