By the way, during Edgar vs Maynard at UFC 136, a commentator, Mike Goldberg said that Gray Maynard actually walked at nearly 200 pounds! It is really impressive to cut to fit the lightweight division. Anyway I believe that height, which is dependent on reach advantage, more affect than weight.

@TailorBell Maynard has been a wrestler his entire life, the way cutting was created was involved with wrestling. But I extremely doubt what Goldberg said because he'd need to cut ~50 pounds which if he had to do that he should be fighting either Welterweight or Middleweight, because that would drain him so much he'd be terrible compared to being at those weight classes.

Another reason I doubt it is he has been a wrestler all his life, they really know their bodies and wouldn't cut 50 pounds

155 is the deepest division in the ufc and the talent gaps are so small i think a fighter like melvin guillard ,jim miller , george sot , and even anthony pettis could win a title on any given night and that not mentioning the like of dunham and b.j that say alot about lw compitition in the ufc

I've watched the fight three times very closely since the draw and i was pulling for Edgar. First round: definitely Maynard. 10-8. Second round: All Edgar. 10-9. Major props for that round. Third round: close but Maynard landed the cleaner shots and was more aggressive i thought. (arguably) 10-9 for Maynard. Fourth round: Close but Edgar was doing more work and landed often. Fifth Round: extremely close! practically a toss up. I gave it to Edgar. 47-47. gotta be a draw
