Hahaah oh my god that was intense, I thought you where going to chop the piano in half for a second.I hear that is one of the most difficult pieces to play, you did a good job on it.
I speak 3 languages at a very good level (French is my mother tongue, I speak perfectly German and pretty good English), and I also learned some Russian. And you?
It's not only a question of being able to play things. It's about how you play them... Technique is a very complex thing that is deeply linked to artistic ideas... Watch the Barenboim masterclass with Bax, this is also technique.
Anyway, the UdK is fairly hard to get into... But maybe not as hard as Moscow... hehe.
When I said "musical structures" I just meant the way music is composed and built around logical principles, to give it coherence... The UdK is the "Universität der Künste" (university of arts) of Berlin, Germany ;-). And I am 22 years old.
Hehe that's what I used to think a few years ago... I changed my mind however. I'm working on this piece again now; everytime I play it it gets more interesting!
I only heard a recording by McLachlan, which I like and another one by... I can't remember by whom, but I didn't like it. As far as I know, there is barely someone playing it! I recently showed it to Pascal Devoyon, who gave me some useful comments about how to play it, although he was seeing it for the first time.
Thank you, I will take a look at the page! I don't know what edition I'm using: the only music shop around didn't manage to get the score, so I downloaded it online (on emule). The sheet music I'm using even has some (sometimes useful) fingerings marked by hand on it!
I have never met anyone who played this piece before, and I would be really pleased if you had any kind of advice, or direction for its interpretation! I would like to play this rare piece on many occasions (contests, exams) and any information about it would be a great help for me! Did you record it?
@tantawi1992 thank you very much! Nevertheless, I really think that this recording is terrible compared to the later one of this same sonata...

Depends on what your level is... I should hear your playing before being able to answer this question lol

This was a recital for my old school, (HfM Saar, Germany), about 2 years ago.

The reason you pointed out is probably one of the reasons for it to be interesting... But I was also speaking in term of musical structures ;-)
Anyway... What is UOP? This recording was made in Saarbrücken, Germany. I am currently studying in Berlin (UdK) ;)

Bravo! Even though the sound of the recording is poor, the playing is impressive! We want all the sonata!!!
