Wow! I saw this when I ws nine years old or so. I only recall the flying 'pancakes', the shack full of bodies and the alien peeing blood from it's arm. It blew me away that Landau, Palance AND Caruso were in it! Proof that the internet does a great deal of good for mankind!

In any case, it is what it is, ain't what it ain't. To judge ego seems a little out of place here. Not because I am an admirer of Caruso. It is a nefarious and useless pursuit which serves only those with uncontained ego's the opportunity to demonstrate exactly that.

I do know the CBS message board comes across as being filled with middle school girls cooing about what a hunk David is, along with all the little tics that he displays--the one-liners, the precious dark glasses, and his gazing off into the emptiness of. . .his own role?

Both leads on Vegas and NY filled out their roles far better than Caruso has on Miami.

All of which indicates that many of his fans see "talent" where others see ego.

Despite the love many fans have for Caruso, it's more than matched by the revulsion many have for the cartoon caricature he presents of himself in the show, giving a performance more worthy of a laugh than applause.

Enjoy the skill with which he delivers his one-liners, skillfully removes his dark glasses, and pensively gazes off into the distance (probably amazed that people find such stunts "acting").

The evolution of Horatio Caine has been very deliberate and no doubt partly due to the response by fans to certain elements of the character. David Caruso is no fool. If you check out various fan AND commentary sites, you will see that most respond to the intensity he demonstrates and other sensitive aspects of the character. Judging personalities based on tabloids seems a tad egotistical in itself.

It is hard to describe David Caruso as a "glory hog" given he actually spends so few minutes in each episode. Perhaps it is the intensity of his performance with which some are confused. It just goes to demonstrate the amazing impact he has.

And his fans obviously are oblivious to the man's ego.

csi las vagas is good yes. gata love grissom and greg, but i like what miami brought in. like emily proctor said, its the more comic book style show. he dosn't have to be perfect and they enjoy making it make fantasy like. it took me a long time to watch miami (becouse i don't much like spin-offs) and when i finally did i realised what a great cast they had. they get along, they have fun and they are all amazing actors. davids number one fan is the person he has a restraining order against

Believe me, I stopped watching the show long, since it wasn't up to the quality of the other CSI shows.

Last I looked, this wasn't a fan site where only fans could come and praise their hero.

obiously you don't watch the show a lot. its got a great grasp of forensic sciences (and i hate science so that means something coming from me) it keeps a good grasp on the charecters personal lives but dosnt fill the whole show with just that, and you learn about each of their pasts in diffrent times. you just don't seem to want to admit david is an amazing actor and all you can do is insult him. get a life and watch a show with an actor you like, but leave david to hell alone

I did watch the show for some time, but finally tired of Caruso takinng the limelight.

Vegas & NY are far superior to Miami. And their actors aren't purposely making caricatures of themselves. They're acting and putting on great shows.

Caruso has his fans, no doubt. His number 1 fan is more certainly himself.

What's amazing is how far down his acting ability has declined from his excellent spot in this clip to what it sadly is today. People usually mature in their acting abilities in each new role. Not so with Caruso, apparently.
