WOOOOAAAA Man I've been dying to see what being on an aircraft carrier is like for a long time!! (thats where ill most likely be sent after training, being an AT)
Thanks a lot for all your videos, Ive been watching all of them for hours lol, they are really informative and really give you a true perspective on what Navy life is all about.
Oh and the food, is what you might expect from 40 people cooking 24k meals a day. There's allot of it, and depending on whether you ate well before you got there or not, it can be the best thing ever, or the worst food you've ever eaten. Grade D but consumable lol. And the officers steal all the ranch when there are greens around, so hope you like french or blue cheese.
From the moment the pway's started showing, it was obvious it was the 03 level, starboard side, by operations and intel. And the look to the right, brought back instant memories of going up and out, or down and into the chow line.
And Queen, how many more soldiers in Afghanistan do you think would die without the support of the planes from our carriers? When things get tough, the Navy answers and makes the fight, a totally unequal and intentionally brutal evolution for the bad guys.
cant belive you switched jobs from a diver to a "aviation machinsts mate" what the fuck. You said on your website that you wanted to switch becasue of saftey and career, what a pussy. The Navy isnt a picnic son, the military is made to protect our nation and fight for it, if neccsarally to make job in it for years. Even on a ship or helicopter you are a threat of dieing, so shut the fuck up about safty and shit and join to fight you bastrd. While people die you sit around in dorms and ships FU
@123nypd wow i'm hoping you're not and were never in the military because EVERY job is of great importance. each and every member of the united states navy contributes to our freedom and there should be a level of respect. your comment is pretty disgraceful.
@QueenCleopatra0606 so you think a guy who rides in helicopters and makes videos on deck of an aircraft carrier is a hero. You got to be shitting me, man. There are guys who dieing and fighting as we speak.people in afagnistan and iraq are the heros not the ones who sit around on a ship laughing and taking videos. hes probally on a navel base somwhere in hawai for all we know.hes a disgrace for the military.Even if he became a diver you think a mother fucking diver would be sent to iraq? Think!
Yo wuts good Jrock I must say that I've decided to go Navy thanks to YOU and other family members all you guys inspired me to do so and I wanted to thank you dude maybe I'll be ya shipmate in the future thanx again man take care
i am so glad that i got out before they started putting women on war type ships!! i could never take orders from a woman and thankfully i never had to!!
@thegame245 Everyone on the ship musters at predesignated spots, those that are on watch call in. The ship turns around, a RHIB goes in the water with rescue swimmers, a helicopter is launched. No one is released from muster until the person is recovered or it is determined that it was a false alarm.
@thegame245 In my 3 years onboard, and 2 deployments, the only time we had anyone goi in the water was when we were anchored out (can't remember the port, but it was my first cruise). However, we did have countless drills and false alarms. That being the case, and accounting for the numerous variables, I can't really say how long it would take to recover someone.
@jibberingjon This shows it all from one person's perspective. Seeing it one way all the time, it can be great or terrible, or neither extreme. To get a better look at all perspectives, check out other videos (the PBS documentary series called Carriers is a good one, but also check out videos of what people do to cure underway boredome).
@thegame245 They told me since I was homeschooled I need 15 college credits, so I'm getting those now and then I am probably somewhere around January. I thought the recruiter was just messing with me at first and thought maybe he got more money if he enlisted someone with college credits, so I asked my brother whose a captain and he knew a guy who was one of his squad leaders and became a recruiter and he said the same thing. I'm just about to finish one of my summer classes and then just fall.
@mattownsu1 Nah I want it as a career, I've already been to the recruiter about an 18x contract and all that. Like I told the other guy though, I was homeschooled and so I need 15 100 level class college credits. =(
It's great that you uploaded these vids. When I went in 5 years ago I had no clue what shipboard life was like, so it's great that your giving these guys & girls a real, unobstructed, look at Navy life.
Is the Officer of The deck extension number still 6643? rat guards still used?double braided nylon mooring lines still used? Do you draw jack-o lantern faces with a sharpie marker on a bald drunk passed out shipmate take a picture and hand it to him when he wakes up? Or place a magazine in the lap of a drunk passed out shipmate sitting in a chair in the berthing with arms on the arm rest, vaseline on one side of the arm and lotion squirt on the mag with photo taken for him to see when he awakes?
Does the saltwater activated flare activate if you strike it like a match on the deck and used for 4th of July celebrations while underway as well as man overboard drills now? Are PKP fire extinguishers still being used?
Does the C.I.W.S. Phalynx still sound like King Kong farting when fired off and tested? Is the sidewinder still a heat seeker or a seek and destroy Taliban seeker? Is the Dummy used for the coxswain when simulating Man overboard Drills still named OSCAR or is it oscar Junior now? Do sweepers sweepers still man their brooms sweeping down all ladders decks passageways and more? Or do they man swiffers use Pinesol, and mop n glo?
Are sound powered phones still being used? Or do they use Walkie Talkies and megaphones now? Are the general, chemical and collision alarms still being used or do they use airhorns now/ Does the helm and lee helm now have a robot or auto pilot ?
So does anyone look for bulkhead remover or stand mail buoy watch and report all gu-11,s sighted? Or go to the Ht dept for HT punches? How about MCdonalds and the bowling alley on the 7th deck. Does compartment 02-128-L still exist or has it changed or been relocated?
Are the same announcements over the 1 mc still being made like now launch the alert five fighter initial vector overhead? General quarters general quarters all hands man your battlestations the route to general quarters is as follows; Up and forward starboard, down and aft port. Taps taps lights out all hands turn into your bunks maintain silence about the decks. The smoking lamp is out in all authorized spaces. All hands don EEBDS AND OBAS when a cigarette/cigar is lit?
yeah i tried to join but MEPS turned me down due to Neurofibromotosis, a brain tumor i had 10 years ago, scars on my head from it, etc. My brother is a Marine recruiter and did his best to get me in. Its a bummer. I really wanted to join, and given my choices, not only was the NAVY my 1st choice, but it was the best option for me. And reserves dont interest me. I wanted to be full - time.
@jrockno5 what kinda food was it, and doyou takethe foodyourselfordo youselectmenus,or do you select the components for theweek, and then you get what you selected?
that ship looks very clean. i seen ships that are crazy dirty.
