There are much, much worse martial arts videos on YouTube than this. That said, stomping an unarmed opponent who's laying face-down on the ground is not a self-defense move; it's a criminal act of aggression. Martial arts studios need to stop teaching this kind of stuff.
I love how utterly and needlessly convoluted these moves are. "Break his finger, break his wrist, hit his groin, hit it again, break his spine, hit him in the groin again, and go directly to jail. Thank you, Rick."
@ultimathulian I think this is made to defend against someone who is trying to murder you or your family. Not to do to the guy at the fast food restaurant who gets your order wrong lol And if the situation is bad enough to do all that i would much rather deal with the cops then just letting the guy kill me.
@Hanshi1Day In my experience, 95% of people who claim 10th degree black belts got them from schools they founded themselves. I'm guessing this guy is no different.
why are there so many techniques in one sequence ? surly this would indicate that the initial counter and the next are ineffectual ? and as in all American kempo there is a lot of own body slapping to make the sound of a powerful strike on the attacker ! a lot of showy movement but little one attack one block one powerful counter and stop the attack ! good for the TV shit for the street !
I stop doing this kind of Kenpo when it became over kill. All the technic were made for a reason and in the past the faster and shorter the tech, made it that much more effective. Over kill took over most Kenpo teachers like this. Oh well they all work real well if practiced right, but still over kill is just that
Correct. The tech, when executed correctly, eliminate the posibility of re-catalyzing your opponent. In the eventuality of this happening, you just move on to the most appropiate tech by ARMMing (Adjust, Regulate, Modify, Monitor).
just 1 question:why the opponent always stays still in all kenpo demos, thats absurd,i like kenpo, but i dont think that is useful, please answer. i did like the "on the mat "videos by "true2kenpo"(watch it,is very good).
@TheMarkofMarkos Opponent is like this because it's stage one of technique i.e. the ideal phase where it all works nice then we have the what if phase i.e. opponent does something else etc then stage 3 formulation i.e. new technique.
@TheMarkofMarkos In a real fight the speed and power executed would be so great that the opponent wouldn't be standing there for very long. These are techniques demonstrated at very slow speeds for education, but in reality would be executed much faster.
GM 10TH Degree Black Belt Larry Tatum, what can I say. There's no word to explain how shows the magnificent of Kenpo Karate. One of the Three Tenth Degree along with Richard Huk Planas, Dave Hebler from CKF. All of them first generation Black Belts from Senior Grand Master Ed Parker. Bow.

10th Degree? I don't think he would stand a chance against professor or hanshi. He is very sloppy.
