@jorge091167 : Haha nope, the Buddhist symbol existed for at least a thousand years only to be made notorious after Hitler adopted (& reversed mirrored it) during the rise of Nazism. He was a nut for all things mystic from the east.
It seems that the younger generation or anybody for that matter, can't appreciate film, music...whatever...of the past unless its remade. To remake this film would be sacrilege.
I seen this as a kid in the 70's. I appreciated it then as I do now. If you can't appreciate this film in its true format than you're not a real film fan. I'm soooo done with Hollywood diluting these precious gems with over the top fx, modified storylines...all for the sake of box office $.
@TheZunigal i agree with no remakes, I myself am not a big film fan, but that's because I don't watch that many movies, though I do appreciate classics, like this or anything with the Marx brothers
I doubt anyone would touch this film because the good and the bad of this film is genre defining. If a modern remake of Master of the Flying Guillotine kept the bad parts it would be cheesy. If it removed the bad parts it would lose its connection with the genre.
I wouldn't mind seeing a remake though if someone like Quentin Tarantino did it because he rates Master of the Flying Guillotine as one of his favorite movies, but that also means he probably shares your sentiment.
Upon first seeing this film in a cinema my buttocks were actually quivering like jelly it was so exciting, by the end of it my nipples had exploded with delight, and I felt a very deep stirring in my loins, 'Master of THe Flying Guillotine' is a true classic, a must see for any martial arts film fan, I hope it gets a remake one day! First time seeing it in cinema when first guys head gets hacked off with guillotine, I almost sharted such an amazing movie.
@kimbobrand7 The swastika symbol has been around since 4000 BC. If you think it was created by the Nazi party in the 1930s, you're off by thousands of years.

@pjamese3 Truth. There are 1000 year old carvings of the Hindu god Vishnu wielding the "Sudarshana Chakram", a mythical holy weapon that kills demons and all enemies of law and harmony. If you've ever tried one of those ring frisbees you'd know that you can get a lot of distance with little effort, making it an efficient ranged weapon.

Its called a SWASTIKA! Its an ancient hindu symbol meaning peace and is said to bring fortune, thats why its sue was so widespread across asia. Hitler, being the asshole that he was, copied the swastika design and tilted it. The symbol you all are thinking of is the hakenkreuz (meaning crooked-cross in german) which is the whats on the nazi flag. There is a difference between a hakenkreuz and a swastika, not only in shape, but meaning.
thats some interesting history about symbols. it would be a different story if charlie chaplin was the leader of the nazi's. but no, its gonna be quite hard to seperate the swastika symbol from hitlers massacres..
@XinBiDe I read somewhere that the swastika was adopted by the Nazis because it is a symbol of peace between different races, and thats why the Nazi version is in reverse from the buddist, because peace between races wasnt the Nazis bag.

A swastika wasn't created by the Nazi's, it was adopted by them. Swastika's are in many cultures pre-dating the Third Reich, and usually symbolized balance harmony and peace, but the since everyone immediately thinks NAZI, the symbol is frowned upon. The same as the Hitler mustache you only see on Charly Chaplin...or J. Jonah Jamesion:P
thanks for the info, I was well aware of that fact, the swastika's earliest known origin is in Ancient India, the oldest discovered artifact with the swastika dates back to about 3500 bc, and was found in northern India, near the modern Pakistani border, of course the swastika has been found in cultures around the world, from India, to Egypt, even ancient Sumeria, and of course the Buddhist culture of India brought the symbol to northern and Eastern Asia. @BIoodorange Humans can be so vicious when offended. In her defense the symbol is intended to be harmless. In her attackers defense it means horrible things to many people these days. Oh well, this world will always make mistakes. lol the Banshees! Great british punk.
i think this is a second film the first one was wher they gave a great wepon maker a job to build the flying giotine and they tested it on german shepards this was not the one i remembered i wanted to get the first one on netflix but this is the only one they had come up ya the swazi on the old mans bib was crazy and my dvd was in dubed english and some small pieces were in english subtitles it was funny the editor was hi or somthing
I remember watching this film for the first time back in the mid/80s. "Master of the Flying Guillotine" and "Enter the Dragon" are my favorite martial arts movies of all time.
the swaztika was either chinese or indian buddhist in origina...represented the four winds, the four elements and the four points of the compass...Hitler inverted it and turned it on the corner as an insult.
In Hinduism means the evolution and involution of the universe (right-faced, evolution; left-faced, involution) representing the two forms of Brahma, and also points to the 4 cardinal directions meaning ground stability. In Buddhism it represents the eternity, dharma, universal harmony and balance of opposites.
Hitler didn't use the Swastika to insult, but to express the mission of the aryan race, and the victory of the creative work. In other words, he used it to express strength

I purchased the VHS many years ago. Seems the title in europe was "One Armed Boxer, Part 2". If you can't locate the movie try that title.

This movie inspired the character Dhalsim from Street Fighter.

You're wrong
In Hinduism means the evolution and involution of the universe (right-faced, evolution; left-faced, involution) representing the two forms of Brahma, and also points to the 4 cardinal directions meaning ground stability. In Buddhism it represents the eternity, dharma, universal harmony and balance of opposites.
Hitler didn't use the Swastika to insult, but to express the mission of the aryan race, and the victory of the creative work. In other words, he used it to express strength
