I miss Donna so much... I can handle Ten regenerating, because as Whovians we all know that the Doctor always eventually regenerates. But losing Donna? I couldn't deal with it. I couldn't handle it, because more than any other companion, she GOT the Doctor. She wasn't just fierce and strong, she was also brave and good and kind and compassionate and empathetic beyond all reason.

This is a fabulous vid. The song fits so perfectly with the characters, and the editing is mind-blowing. This must have taken ages. I would have liked there to be some slower parts to the editing--something to give our synapses a breather, one or two 5-second slow parts. I found it hard to keep up with at times because it went so fast. But the editing is fabulous, and the way you bled the dialogue into the opening and then out of the ending was seemless. Excellent vid! *bows to your expertise*

Wow, the prismatic nature of this suits the song just perfectly. It's almost a life-flashes-before-her-eyes sort of deal. I loved the surprise POV-change with the Doctor's three companions, and the flash to him with Rose when the song talks about him being 'broken' was surprising and perfect.
I loved how "jumpy" it was - it really seemed like flashes of memory, and made it that much more special, like these are the flashes of memory that she sees during that brief period in The End of Time. :D 5*

Lovely tribute to Donna. But try and find the quiet spaces to tell your story. Not easy with that song and I liked the ride. Yep. I think it was mostly the fact that she didn't hold the Doctor as a romantic fixation. They were just friends. The best of friends. Amazing video.
Yeah! To be honest I think the whole romantic fixation thing with Martha ruined her a little bit. It might have worked if she stayed for 2 series, but running around saying "I love him" after about 3 episodes had no effect whatsoever. We could tell Rose loved him and so it was extra special that it took 2 series before she told him. Maybe it would have been better if Donna stayed for series 3 and then they'd have had a Martha like character for series 4 too. But I love series 3 anyway.

Wow. I love this so much. The quick, flashing transitions are perfect and convey the stream of consciousness VERY WELL. Again (like I commented on your Rose/WYWY vid), the clever editing and lack of showy effects make this really stand out. And OMG. NINE. I never thought I'd see 9 in a Donna vid, but there he was. Speaking of which, the Doctor/Rose and Lee/Donna bits were wonderful, and you managed to sneak them in in a perfectly context-appropriate way. I want to show this video to the world.

I really like your concept but the constant flashing of this video makes it hard for me to focus on something, so I'm sorry to say, for me, it makes uncomfortable viewing. Still a very good idea though 4/5 stars
hi stirlsxo, I use windows movie maker- which has the advantage of being free but has an annoying tendency to crash at important moments. Staying calm and soothing chocolate help to cope with it though :)
This video is slightly disorienting. The quick transitions were good at the start, but once the words started, they should have slowed down a bit, and only flickered during music-only parts, IMHO.

Sorry, but this is just my personal opinion so feel free to ignore completely. But I think that the really fast scene changing is a bit distracting. And it would be more purposeful if only a few parts of the music video contained that type of editing/effects.
Of course that's just my two cents, and I haven't had any previous experience with video editing so I may be completely wrong.

Hi :) Thanks, glad you like the video. I get my clips by ripping the DVD's I have, or naughtily for episodes that aren't out yet I use keep.vid, which allows you to copy direct from youtube, but its not great quality; other people have better, quicker ways I'm sure. Hope this helps :-)

Thanks :-) Glad you liked it. The time it takes varies; Human Nature took five hours one Sunday, New Born took little bits of work on and off for a month ( which looking back was too much because its overdone and overlong). On average, I think doing an hour
or so a night for about two to three weeks but it depends a lot on college/family/friends and how much WMM decides to crash :-D

Okay so I've just watched this vid again and, though I've already left TWO comments for it (well, one long one split into two) I had to once again say how very much in love with it I am. Here I sit, in tears, and absolutely ACHING for Donna, The Doctor, Grandad and the utter unfairness of it all. This vid is the perfect summary of Donna's story, a brilliant little refresher of all that she was and all the adventures she had.
Um...this was my parents' song when they were dating. Didn't make it any easier to watch without crying. People are always saying they're crying at videos, I reckon. Never thought it'd be true. The editing isn't just really good for the rhythm and pacing, it stirs up emotion. Amazing.
i agree, i always here people saying "i cried at (insert video name here)" but i never thought i would, i cant say i feel the same as you obviously (about your parents) , but Donna Noble is basically me but unlike her i dont get to travel in time and space, so i sort of lived through her, to see that happen to her was like it broke me and then i watched this and it started me off again, and im crying again now :'(

WOW, this is simply stunning. I wasn't even sure I liked this song before this video, but now I'll always connect it to DW and Donna. *snif* I'm gonna miss her, a lot.
Standout moments for me were at 1:18 "Did you miss me while..." and the tardis shooting skyward to the music, 1:50 "reminds me that there's room to grow", the sequence starting at 2:35 with Donna and her Grandad (and EVERY clip of Grandad actually :p), the cute and clever "best soy latte that you ever had and me", and the heartbreaking and abrupt ending of "Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day?" fadeout. Not exactly a "feel-good" vid lol but beautiful all the same! :)

Yep. I think it was mostly the fact that she didn't hold the Doctor as a romantic fixation. They were just friends. The best of friends. Amazing video.

Yeah! To be honest I think the whole romantic fixation thing with Martha ruined her a little bit. It might have worked if she stayed for 2 series, but running around saying "I love him" after about 3 episodes had no effect whatsoever. We could tell Rose loved him and so it was extra special that it took 2 series before she told him. Maybe it would have been better if Donna stayed for series 3 and then they'd have had a Martha like character for series 4 too. But I love series 3 anyway.

Wow. I love this so much. The quick, flashing transitions are perfect and convey the stream of consciousness VERY WELL. Again (like I commented on your Rose/WYWY vid), the clever editing and lack of showy effects make this really stand out. And OMG. NINE. I never thought I'd see 9 in a Donna vid, but there he was. Speaking of which, the Doctor/Rose and Lee/Donna bits were wonderful, and you managed to sneak them in in a perfectly context-appropriate way. I want to show this video to the world.

I love this video, and I have watched it multiple times since I found it. This is the perfect song for Donna, and it went into the Doctor Who playlist on my iPod. I love the concept that this is all flashing through her mind. I totally agree with your analysis of Wilf as a grandfather too.

I really like your concept but the constant flashing of this video makes it hard for me to focus on something, so I'm sorry to say, for me, it makes uncomfortable viewing. Still a very good idea though 4/5 stars

hi stirlsxo, I use windows movie maker- which has the advantage of being free but has an annoying tendency to crash at important moments. Staying calm and soothing chocolate help to cope with it though :)

This video is slightly disorienting. The quick transitions were good at the start, but once the words started, they should have slowed down a bit, and only flickered during music-only parts, IMHO.
Other than that, wonderful job!

Sorry, but this is just my personal opinion so feel free to ignore completely. But I think that the really fast scene changing is a bit distracting. And it would be more purposeful if only a few parts of the music video contained that type of editing/effects.
Of course that's just my two cents, and I haven't had any previous experience with video editing so I may be completely wrong.
Lovely idea though.

Hi :) Thanks, glad you like the video. I get my clips by ripping the DVD's I have, or naughtily for episodes that aren't out yet I use keep.vid, which allows you to copy direct from youtube, but its not great quality; other people have better, quicker ways I'm sure. Hope this helps :-)

Thanks :-) Glad you liked it. The time it takes varies; Human Nature took five hours one Sunday, New Born took little bits of work on and off for a month ( which looking back was too much because its overdone and overlong). On average, I think doing an hour
or so a night for about two to three weeks but it depends a lot on college/family/friends and how much WMM decides to crash :-D

Okay so I've just watched this vid again and, though I've already left TWO comments for it (well, one long one split into two) I had to once again say how very much in love with it I am. Here I sit, in tears, and absolutely ACHING for Donna, The Doctor, Grandad and the utter unfairness of it all. This vid is the perfect summary of Donna's story, a brilliant little refresher of all that she was and all the adventures she had.

Um...this was my parents' song when they were dating. Didn't make it any easier to watch without crying. People are always saying they're crying at videos, I reckon. Never thought it'd be true. The editing isn't just really good for the rhythm and pacing, it stirs up emotion. Amazing.

i agree, i always here people saying "i cried at (insert video name here)" but i never thought i would, i cant say i feel the same as you obviously (about your parents) , but Donna Noble is basically me but unlike her i dont get to travel in time and space, so i sort of lived through her, to see that happen to her was like it broke me and then i watched this and it started me off again, and im crying again now :'(

Standout moments for me were at 1:18 "Did you miss me while..." and the tardis shooting skyward to the music, 1:50 "reminds me that there's room to grow", the sequence starting at 2:35 with Donna and her Grandad (and EVERY clip of Grandad actually :p), the cute and clever "best soy latte that you ever had and me", and the heartbreaking and abrupt ending of "Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day?" fadeout. Not exactly a "feel-good" vid lol but beautiful all the same! :)
