  • gosh i didnt expect to cry so much , poor emily, love is the ecstacy and the agony of our lives ( if i could be dramatic and pretentious for a a minuet lol)

  • Poor Emily. I suspected she might.

  • That ending music is just terribly inappropriate.

  • Poor girl! I almost did the same only a few months back. Thank God I didn't!!! Someone becane a "maternal figure" for me!

  • @borgduck I am so glad you chose life!! I've been there too. Don't ever be afraid to ask for help.

When someone's that unhappy, the last thing they want to hear is "You've got your whole life ahead of you." One day at a time is more bearable.

  • @Raggedy9 Thanks! You don't realise how strangely timed your reply is, for I have lost the maternal figure that I spoke of. I seem to be drinking too much brandy & gin of late. But, I greatly appreciate your reply! :)

  • medical research?! smh damn, poor emily, dead b/c of a broken heart. had no happiness or peace in life. now 2 be used as research in death. damn, that shits so tragic

  • According to the two writers of this episode - Angela Baddeley who played Mrs Bridges here was very upset in this episode particularly for Emily. They also said that the episode took was very stressful for Evin Crowley who plays Emily.

I think Evin Crowley should have got far as an actress because her acting in this episode is wonderful and heartfelt. The particular moment that Rose places her cross on her coffin makes me cry......

  • Poor Mrs. Bridges, too. She must feel wracked with guilt.

  • too much.

  • Wow! This show is pretty ruthless with its characters. Nobody's safe! x

  • Undertakers always seem to show great reserve in these situations, such as commenting on a cup of tea whilst a coffin propped on the table.

  • I don't think that she actually loved him, it was her escape because she felt her life was so miserable. She couldn't see the good in her life, and when her one and only hope was out of her life, she had nothing else to live for.

  • @amuro879 I agree!

  • Good old Hudson and Mrs Bridges - it's at times like these that they do show compassion and break their innate reserve. They are two very complicated characters and are better perhaps than some of the sentimental portrayals of young women.

  • What a shower of bastards.

  • For me, this is the most gut-wrenching episode of them all, including all the other notable deaths in the series. Such overwhelming despair, such anguish...poor, poor Emily... thanks for posting, Yorkie.

  • poor Eithne.

  • Heartbreaking! :(

    Thanks for posting Yorkie
