I love the melody at the beginning and the end. You can see a person walking up to you and then walking away. I love how the extra portion of music allows for the image of a person walking and telling this story (or giving advice as I would interpret it). I do enjoy this version as well.

GYBR is one of my favorites of all time, but this version does tremendous justice to it. Chapin's vocals are understated in contrast with Elton's emotion but it works just as well in expressing the frustration with the bullshit, almost like resignation instead of rebellion. I really like this.

I've noticed Tom tends to sing cover songs very gently, I wonder if perhaps he tends to be a bit too reverent of the originals and afraid to really let his own voice shine on them? But it could be as you said he just wants to bring a different emotion to the songs.

I've just got in from seeing a Keane concert tonight in Cardiff with my m8s and we're all saying what a nice , down to earth bloke Tom Chaplin is . They put on a fantastic show and I loved every minute of it ! :) .

If there's anything bad to say about it Iam disappointed they didn't perform this song even though its a cover I think they do it brilliantly :)

I was at their Glasgow concert, which was awesome, and this is one I'd like to hear live too. As a huge fan of both Keane and Elton John, I'll admit my initial response to this cover was slight disappointment: the delicate, understated style isn't what I expected, but it's grown on me and I do love it.

Tom Chaplin has one of the finest voices in the world today... but I can't imagine anybody ever topping Elton John's original. It's often the case with great singer-songwriters that the passion they can put into performing their own songs is something nobody else will ever feel quite as deeply, and that's one quality which sets it apart.

I still very much enjoyed Keane's rendition, and would love to hear a Keane/ Elton duet on this one.
