i think you made some really good points :) i also think a problem with america is that in other countries people excercise more because they walk alot more to get to places, i know where i live in england anywhere less than 3 miles people always walk. whereas in america it seems most people drive everywhere and its quite hard to walk so it means people dont have time to do additional excercise but if they fitted it into their ways of getting to work and things it would be more effective.
@TheAliceinponderland EXACTLY! I was in Acapulco, Mexico this summer teaching physics. The other teachers and I don't have a car down there, so we had to walk EVERYWHERE (If the place was really far, then you could hope on the bus for 5 pesos (about 40 cents US)).
The thing was, because everyone had to walk, the business were more conveniently placed and accessible.
