Thanks to ANC rule, SA is now a net food importer. This is similar to Zimbabwe, which was also a net agricultural exporter under white minority rule and while whites still ran the agricultural sector, but destroyed itself when Mugabe worked his wonders. Now impoverished Zimbabweans are crowding into South Africa, increasing unemployment, and who do Julius Malema and ANC his ilk blame? The Boers, of course. Perhaps that was a little harsh. But Soviet policies did do a number on agriculture, so the poor state of Georgian farms is not a reflection on the Georgian people. My point was mostly that the blacks have shot themselves in the collective foot by doing everything in their power, short of outright expropriation, to drive out the Boers.

Political opposition partys in Georgia are not popular and what they say doesnt reflect ordinary peoples position. Georgians are very friendly people and will welcome Boers like their own. lets take for example Jews that lived in Georgia for centuries never felt like aliens in the country

Political opposition that came out against this proposal is weak and worthless, they appose the government only to try and bring attention to themselves. They are radical, they have no support from the majority of Georgian people. I support this idea to invite South African farmers. It will be very good for Georgia. Georgia is a country with a bright future, and these people can help fulfill that potential. Property rights, and rule of law is the foundation Georgia is building it's future on.

i want to comment 1 thing first of all the so called oposition in the video isn't even represented in the parlement, they are a mix of ultra nationalists and comunists, they olso say that the english teachers in georgia are from sects came to georgia to demolish ower orthodox church and many of those points, about the georgians we would love to see the boers here because we don't know we are at least 100 yeas behind the SU demolisht ower agri cultur

@alexgrinkov Well they didn't only demolish the Georgian agriculture ut olso the whole post-sovjet agriculture

Why: Because the farmers didn't had there own land and everyting they produced was for the goverment and they got there 120 manet in each way. So there was no will left for the farmer to inovate the agriculture technologies, this was the most corrupt system in the SU. So what happend was that in 70 years SU occupatian ower agriculture didn't modernise.

Do you have any real numbers that would compare pre-soviet georgian agriculture with soviet one (and post-soviet)? I'm not sure that without USSR Goergians would innovate in that field, mainly because agricultuer is one of the most conservative areas
