I love TDWP. From their message to that ruthless uncontrolled shriek-scream. But this album is a flop. The writing is there but the sound is an imitation. It is the most uninspired sound ive heard from the guys to date. Maybe personally the band is in a transition, or maybe someone knows if there is a new producer. Whatever it is it is NOT on point with their earlier work, that being said it isn't garbage its just not sending that chill down my spine that i come to expect when the drop an album

I agree with you they do seem to have defined their sound a bit more. Maybe this will be one of those albums that will grow on me then consume me :) I was just hoping to be blown away like I was with the new WCAR

@ABR52 This is true WCAR did go above and beyond on their new album no doubts there. Althoughh this album took a bit to grow on me but when it did you can hear a major between their early stuff and this, its alot more mature and unique especially the song " My Questions" it isnt the heaviest song or most brutal but its really ear catching. But who knows maybe this album is a transition album like "Messengers" was for ABR :D

@ABR52 This is their best album to date. Their sound is heavier in some places and more melodic in others. Perhaps you prefer the older sound, which was amazing and all. But I feel like this album is much more creative, instrumentally sound, and moving than most of their other stuff. I also am a huge ABR fan, and I'm happy to see TDWP going in a more progressive direction, instead of just breakdown-breakdown-sing-break­down.

@elijahsnyder yes i agree with you greatly, but the thing is,is that theyre leaving out A LOT of Synths and Keys in this album, without the synths it doesnt sound so much of TDWP,although i love every other instrument, the keys is a huge part of what makes TDWP who they are.

@ABR52 I know that they recorded with a different producer and engineer than they did before. They used to record with Joey Sturgis using the POD systems to record guitars straight into the computers, but this time they recorded with Adam Dutkiewicz or however you spell his last name, and they recorded all of the instruments using real amplifiers and real acoustics. I'm not too crazy about this album either, love the writing, but not the production.

Adam Dutkiewicz is one of the best current metal producers. I hope you know that every album he has produced has had amazing reception from critiques. This was the highest rated TDWP album and this was the album that critiques said moved TDWP from generic poser metalcore to unique. All the albums before this sucked except for their Zombie EP

@Duckman118 I didn't say Adam D sucked... and just because the critics say that he's a great producer doesn't mean I have to forfeit my own opinion, and just because he's one of the best doesn't mean he's infallible. I agree that this is their best album in terms of writing and production, I'm a guitarist and I love the tone of the guitars on this album, I just think that the mix doesn't give Mike's screams the room they needed in order to show their full depth.
