  • i hate e-drums!!!!!! why does he play on this shit???

  • I love Thomas doing' Rammstein. He's moving as fast as an octopus:D ^^ kick ass video!

  • Thomas has to wear sunglasses in the dark because his eyes hurt the dark.

  • why is he wearing glasses its fuckin dark up in tht mutha fucker haha

  • totally looks like a friggin baddass in this video

  • Unfortunately, Roland is focusing on bells and whistles instead of getting rid of that eff-ing machinegun-effect. They definitely are on the wrong track.

  • Hahaaa he does look like triple h! Sporting those wwe glasses he looks" badass" haha

  • He looks like the wrestler Triple H at first glance.... lol

  • amo a este tipo

  • "Keine Lust" was released 28 February 2005 as a maxi-single, a limited edition digipak single, a 7" vinyl single, a 12" Vinyl single, and as a two-track. Thomas' Creative Coordination production was completed in 2005 for a 2006 release -- and he had long since been playing that track at clinics, etc., dating back to early 2000's before it ended up on a DVD. Thomas and Doom (Christoph) are friends so clearly nobody gives a hoot either way.

  • @facialmirkin Exactly!

  • just to correct -- "moonrock" was released years prior to "keine lust"

  • @facialmirkin Actually Keine Lust single was released in 2003, and Thomas Lang released Creative Coordination in 2006, so Rammstein actually had rights to the melody and was known for it before Thomas Lang, even though he might have created Moon Rock beforehand

  • I dont know about anyone else but If I went to see a drummer do a clinic with an electric set I would be somewhat disappointed. I want to hear acoustic drums.

  • twitter is slower

  • his leg uses generator :o

  • Rammstein anyone?

  • this guy is a master!

  • @myteetharealsopianok The only real benefits of an electronic kit are that each pad can be set for a different tone or drum or sound, so you never have to go out and buy something (unless it's another pad) , you just change the trigger setting. They are definitely a lot quieter than an acoustic kit, but I warn you that they can get loud depending on how and what you play. A giant downside I've noticed using an electric kit, is that you get way too much bounce on the heads than you actually would

  • I absolutely love the face he plays with the traditional grip. Not too many drummers out there who do this still.

  • This looks exaclty like keine lust from rammstein

  • seems that he flies xD

  • you er terminated!!!! XD

  • next drummer for dream theater? it could work

  • Lang vs. Peart? Honestly, in my mind, Lang outplays Peart in pretty much every way. Like, Neil's awesome, not trying to discredit him, but Lang's on a different level.

  • Ich Habe Keine Lust....(in other words, this sounds like Keine Lust from Rammstein lol)

  • you cannot really compare or say who is better between Thomas Lang and Neil Peart. With most other drummers I'd say there's no competition, all drummer that drum a heavier rock, Lang is the king. You can't match his speed and technical ability. Normally if you prowess in one the other is pushed down, but he has the ability to pump out crazy double bass speed while continuing to hit every beat. Neil Peart, obviously is the master of every damn time signature known to man and immortals alike.

  • at 3:02. The things he's doing with his feet. fantastic!!!!

  • Not sure if i think it's hardcore to play with a traditional grib..

  • thomas lang=best of all times sorry for all..

  • the good thing about him using an electric kit, is that we can see his feet perfectly without any kick drums blockin it

  • so how many feet and hands does he actually have?

  • I want exactly the same hair

  • Lang looks like Edge in this video.

  • thomas uses both acoustic and electronic drums...as i observed he doesnt care what type of drumset hes using but still he executes it perfectly...

  • is thaat an electric drum kit.??

  • I would love to see a fight between "this" Thomas Lang and bear Petrucci XD

  • Look at 'is feet go!

  • Every time I see this guy play I am more and more convinced he cannot be human! He must be an android or an alien! It is just insane how he plays like that. It's a real thing of beauty. So crisp, so powerful, everything so perfectly executed, and as for those double bass drum patterns - my god. FFS how does he do it! This guy is just out of this world. Never seen anything like it.

  • Doesn't matter what type of set Thomas Lang plays on ,he's practically the most technically perfect drummer on the planet .

  • Electronic drums... ugh...

  • 22 people only use drumsticks for their butt......

  • It's soooooooo amaaaaazing!!!

  • Is it true that he auditioned for Dream Theater???

  • Comment removed

  • Dream Theater bound... I hope.

  • rammstein - keine lust ???

  • only 1 flaw...its an electric kit!!!!!

  • @JakeTheDrummer18

It's a great song for electric drums which he endorses and he plays the song the same way on a regular drum set.

  • @The61769 yeah, but to me if you're playing live it just doesn't seem rite to play on an electric drum set, just an opinion

  • This guy is on fire !! also note he is very HOT too !!!

  • This guy is on fire !! also note he is very HOT too !!!

  • Thomas Lang never ceases to amaze me. His performances are always epic and its nice to c a vid of him playing a songs/beat not just him soloing like God (oh no sorry he IS GOD!)

  • Oh Mylanta!!! T.L. Is simply dropping BOMBS on your moms!!!!

  • Lang the machine!

Id say royster is on par. :D Whip it reel good!

  • i think the crazy drummer is better

  • They will hire him for Dream Theatre, I guess...

  • My god he plays the way I only wish I could , Absolutley phenominal. Tasteful drumming articulate, powerful, interesting, it's like a one man army. There are many great drummers. He is definitly among them. Top of the heap man.

  • @fockanana Fail :D But you get good marks for your Grammar!

  • My god he plays the way I only wish I could , Absolutley phenominal. Tasteful drumming articulate, powerful, interesting, it's like a one man army. There are many great drummers. He is definitly among them

  • I wanna see mike portnoy doing that ... lol

  • He's a Monster!!

  • holy shit its edge

  • dude in like every video he looks like a different person its funny but he is a god i'm not sure whose better Niel pert or him anyone's opinion? be nice please

  • @r2jdf I don't think Neil Peart can phrase as well as Lang can.But they also play different styles where Thomas' goal is to execute a perfect back beat while filling in what other people would use drum machines for, while Neil tries to lay down a back beat, and make it groove in odd time signatures, which is extremely hard for a lot of drummers. All of this, of course, in my opinion.

  • @godlydrmr good point. do you play yourself?

  • @r2jdf I do and have been for 5 years now, on both acoustic and electronic

  • @godlydrmr nice which one do you like better because i have a choice to go between the two and i cant decide i started with an acoustic but i have an electric right now

  • @r2jdf IT's a big choice but you really have to think about how you're going to use it. ME, personally, I love my acoustic kit (Pearl EX 8-piece Double Bass), and I love my electronic kit (TD-6 1st generation). For practicing I will 99% of the time use my TD-6, unless I'm feeling rusty on acoustic, then I'll usually practice with brushes on acoustic, but the electric kits DO FEEL DIFFERENT, that's a huge aspect of it. For live gigs I'll do acoustic, and practicing, TD-6. But it's all in usage.

  • @godlydrmr ok thank you ill have to think about it

  • @r2jdf For what it's worth... I've got a couple of acoustic kits that I love but a couple of years ago I got laid off and sold a Vintage Ludwig kit and my Roland TD-20... The minute the FedEx guy drove away with the TD-20 I knew I had just f#cked up! I had gotten pretty used to playing anytime I felt like it! I just replaced it with a TD-20 SX and I swear I will sell every acoustic drum I own before I part with the Roland kit again!! Clubs like the Rolands, too... LESS NOISE!!

  • @r2jdf It's Peart not Pert.

  • @r2jdf Peart is trash in comparison. Tom is a good drummer, and that's the difference.

  • @r2jdf I think Neil Peart is a more creative drummer and Lang is like the fastest in the world

  • @r2jdf Whoever *you* enjoy listening to more, is "better". Although there are technical greats like Lang, there are also musicality greats like Purdie or Peart, or groove greats like Bonham. There's no mathematical equation to separate who's "better", and don't let anyone fool you different kid. Cheers.

  • @r2jdf That is soooooooo true that he looks diffrent in every video

  • reckon this sounds better than keine lust

not just the drums tho like the music

no offence to rammstein and its fans lol just sayin

  • WTF? He is goin incredibly crazy, nice outfit, nice Kit, ultra nice play!! He is definitely one of the Best out there!

  • The audio in this one is pretty bad...but taking notice of the frequencies missing and the the reverb you can tell that this the audio aint recorded from the feed...rather from the speakers. But if i hadnt see the video and someone would play me the track...i really couldnt tell the difference from and acoustic kit and this one. it is a very cook kit.

  • Somehow, this song makes me remember Kaine Lust by Rammstein :S

  • Oh.. pero qe es stho.. nunca habia cheqado tantho ritmo en una persona.. jeje chido el solin.. de pellos io diria.. jeje jeje

  • Acoustic kits rape electronic kits any day

  • Why have the double kicks setup the way he does?

  • Holy poo!! look at his feet when he does little bursts on the double kick. Are his heels down?

  • @fearghak i've been watching the same thing and it does appear that the blasts are 'heel down'. i play using my toes, but i've been trying it out on my kit and i do feel that i am able to have more control. now i just need to get the throne at the correct height to be able to play heels down and on my toes.

  • @1oddtime Nice, you know if his heels are down for running double kick?

  • Reading the comments here, this may offend some people-I hope not-but I *really* don't like the electronic drums NEAR as much as his Sonor Akryls-they have so much more depth and warmth. These sound to me like the gain is too far down in the mix-especially the cymbals.

Awesome chops, awesome kit (even if I don't care for it, I recognize great gear).

Thomas, Benny Greb, Andrea Vadrucci....european players are gettiing their props!!!!

  • @Frdbrkl The two drumsets hold a different purpose (I think) for when they should be used. Acoustic kits of course, always have been much more admired in live gigs and they just look a lot cooler overall. Electronic kits are good, depending on the setting. I own a TD-6, and since I have complaining neighbors, they're a great way to practice without disturbing anyone. As far as live gigs go, I think electronic kits are good for triggering electronic sounds, not to replace the actual kit.

  • @Frdbrkl don't worry. e-drum has already sound "acoustic". Watch this instead.

    /watch?v=0BnyV8rstAw

  • This is amazing. Great song and incredible double bass skill. I can't stop watching this.

  • when did thomas turn in to a biker?

  • beginning similar to Keine Lust by Rammstein!??

  • Thomas lang... with hair!!

  • 18 people out of 574 don't like this video,

thats 18 more people who are obviously spastics to add to the bank

  • niubi!!

  • were's the url

  • only self centered drummers who dont "get it" would call him boring

  • bloody hell he is a java man|!!!!! playing that drums

  • i don't like electric drum kit, i prefer acoustic drum

    yeaaaah!

  • @burgos36 I prefer brunettes over blondes, but both are still fun to play with. To each his own I guess.

  • Un extra-terrestre !

  • He's a monster...

  • He looks so freaking huge ! Absolutely great playing aswell

  • rammstein with him sounds like fear factory))

  • he should go for the fastest feet record lol

  • Von welchem Stern ist dieses Wesen zu uns gekommen?

Ich habe "Keine Lust" mehr selbst Schlagzeug zu spielen!

  • wow! that switching bass pedals thing is nice........

  • The kit never had a chance...

  • wow damn good oO

    but i hate e-drum set's :D

  • @8DAlexC8 electric kits can sound good to... I find they're easier to maintain and working with them is easy

  • agree!!!

  • he looks like EDGE

  • I personally like the real version of keine lust, but thats just my style, I still think lang is one of the top three drummers out there, no doubt.

  • machine

  • esta bien chidoon lo voy ejecutar a ver que resulta

  • I was once in the support band when Thomas was playing with John Whetton from Asia. A deeply humbling experience. I looked round at one point to find him watching me play from backstage. A very, very nice guy as well as being a fucking monster of a player

  • From the interviews it seems like he is very friendly towards everyone, including screaming fans. As for you, lucky man, I would kill to have that opportunity.

  • yes... Thomas...yes

  • man if i could shake this guys hand and copy his talent.

  • even if u could, u would only be as good as he was before any instruction or anything influenced him. i mean u dont get this good just by being born with it.

i get what u mean, but still, takes tons of work and dedication

  • if kurt russel was a drummer.....

  • haha...finally looks like a drummer,he used to look like an acountant! haha...regardless,this guy well be the best drummer out there!!

  • this guy has more chops than a meat market

  • Hahaha

  • @skier69 lol...!!! if he see you your body is dead!

  • where's his bass drums? is he using electric bass drums?

  • Instead of using an upright bass pad, he some how manages to get his foot pedals to hit small pads on the ground

  • he uses kd-7 triggers i believe

  • @godlydrmr Ja, you can order his signature practice pad kit and it's got bass batters with a 90 degree bend in them so you can play little pads like that. Strange, no?

  • thanks

  • @godlydrmr the ones on the ground are much easier than the regular upright in my opinion.

  • @Sc0ttPrian When I got an old Roland TD7 kit years ago it came with a little kick trigger similar to what he's got here and I couldn't get used to that damn thing for the life of me. I ended up getting an upright Pintech Mesh Head which I really enjoyed. I don't know exactly what he's using here but I'm assuming they've probably gotten a lot better than the one I had. He definitely has those suckers dialed in - the double bass stuff sounds flawless.

  • @SecretAgent068 interesting, i guess i got lucky with my friends pad much like this one, i was able to do double stroke rolls with my feet at extreme speeds but it could have been the pedals tunning, i cant do it with an acoustic kick so i stay away from it haha

  • @Sc0ttPrian

Lang is just as fast on acoustic and as accurate.....

  • @The61769 correct, which is why hes one of my top five favorite drummers :)

  • @godlydrmr it's called a Roland KD-7 =)

  • @godlydrmr Yeah, why is that? Better view for the audience??

  • @carlnathan i hope u realize that this is an electric kit

  • -.-" it's an electric drum

  • @carlnathan this IS an electric drum set.

  • @carlnathan this IS an electric drum set!

  • woo! fantastic

  • can someone tell me why this guy has gone from acoustic to electric? this is hurting his legacy if he had any lol, i was a huge fan til he went electric =(

  • @loscrudosbaterista whats wrong with electric?

  • @loscrudosbaterista pretty sure he hasn't switched...i think hes just promoting for roland or something.

  • Roland is actually one of Lang's sponsors

  • @loscrudosbaterista

yeah im sure one less fan because he also likes electric drums is such a loss to him........lol

  • Very well rounded,, what more can I say,,,

love the double kick technique,, It's like virgil's..

  • Shahweeet!!!

  • wow electronic drums are so gay! they drown out everything out and they sound as fake as crap!

  • Ohhhhhhhhhh my Gooooooooooood!!!!!

  • hes amazing all the way around. Do u hear that dbll bass at 3.03 his feet are as good r better than his Fn hands. He means that foot action,no slop!

  • @bdrumr4ever

I'm thinkin they call those "SEXtuplets"

  • Ya, I think he sounds a lot better on acoustic drums. But he is amazing anyways!

  • i hate elec drums !

  • They have their place. I also have a TD-20, and I can play anytime I want without bothering anyone, and some of the drum voicings are really good; better than I can get in some live venues with acoustic drums. But, go ahead. Hate!

  • Power to the TD-20

  • @roccovaselino i would give a few of my left nuts for a TD-20...or even a TD-4

  • the guy is a monster!

  • He plays the drums freaking good, but in acoustic he's a bit better, I think. Cuz Hard Rock, or Metal and him somehow, they don't fit together. It's my feedback.

  • Nein, ich hab keine lust, Ja! very good performance!

  • LOL!!! Amazing!

  • Thomas is great, but I'd rather hear him on the acoustic set.
