  • great video i never got to see jerry live and he will always live through these videos and his great music there will never be anyone that unique and talented

  • It's people like Jerry Garcia who give music meaning.

  • That last picture of Jerry was hard to take.Such a happy-go-lucky soul.Thank you Jerry.

  • drugsy malone!

  • hahahah

    still dead!

  • my hero

  • Very nice except Jerry's birthday was August 1, 1942, not 1945

  • How did he die?

  • he has a heart attack while in drug rehab.

  • A beautiful soul. RIP Jerry.

  • one of a kind, There will never be another garcia.

  • thank you jerry!

  • Rock My Soul Jer>

Thank You For The Years Of Great Tunes

    .Devon Osborne

  • Great video. That last picture of Jerry brought a tear.

  • We miss you Jer!

  • Who is that kid at the end? He looks familiar.

  • Brokedown Palace !!

  • ummm what song is this exactly?

  • brokedown palace

  • I am..and always will BE a grateful fan...the music never stops....through the eyons of times and tears my heart will be w/ my brother and sisters....Garcia and friends have played a role in my reality and yours...

  • Great video, but you got the birth year incorrect, should be 42, not 45. But, thanks!!

  • Jerry lives!

  • brings a tear to my eye....thanks.

  • awesome!!...but a typo at the end(he was born in 1942 not 1945)

  • This band has revealed so much pain..Now that I'm leaving friends behind and feeling blue, the Dead just makes it all much easier. Thanks a bunch!!!!

  • The Dead is an example of what it's like to feel privileged to be born during a particular era. I am glad I got to see and hear Jerry Garcia and the Dead while they were in the here and now of their time and mine as well. My first car was a '70 Beetle and I remember hearing the Dead when I first turned on the radio after leaving the VW dealership. Those were good times for me.

  • Wow!! This video is way cool!! Thanx...Flower

  • Great tribute video! Jerry was great, too bad I was too young to ever have seen him. RIP Jerry. You will never be forgotten.

  • <3 sweet tunes

  • peace and love to my fellow deadheads great tribute, remember Jerry always.

  • ratare you are a retard .........Jerry and the dead created something that willnever be happen again .........love RIP dead

  • Muito bom!!

  • Such a good song

  • JOMES1234 - your right, I never should have gotten into a pissin match , everyones entitled to their opinion . Still miss the big guy alot . THANKS AND RIP

  • cbf1996 - i was referring to ratrare wit his "rubbish" and "con artist" comments.. to each their own.. but they way i see it, these bands weren't about the money.. to me, they sewed the mysteries of life together.. during break ups, deaths, and happy times as well..

music these days is all about the con artists, the rappers who brag about killing, fancy cars, and all that.

like Garcia said "Magic is what we do, music is how we do it" .

  • Show some respect you losers.

RIP Jerry. Your music has got me through many tough times in life. Your life was anything but a waste. God bless and RIP.

    Beautiful song.

  • it's great man. He was amazing!! AND Bob,Phil,Ratdog

  • Mindless rubbish.....Biggest con job ever pulled off on a group of "dead heads" that followed them around and paid to hear this garbage....

  • Its music deush bag, Jerry was all about the music he didnt givea shit about the business. If you dont like it ok but show some respect. Im defending something thats pure not getting into a pissing match with you. So dont bother replying because I wont read it. I dont waste my time talking shit on youtube, I just want evryone to see what an idiot you are. I bet myself ahundred bucks you respond to this message talking a whole lot of shit because you seem like the type that has nothing more to do

  • Mediocre at best...Grateful Dead was a con job...people fell for it.....

  • You are a fucken idiot .

  • In case there is any confusion I meant ratrare is a fucken idiot .

  • Ratrare- What exactly are you basing your opinion on? The Dead was- is- the band most likely to take chances playing. The bass player had a phD in music starting off. The band was proficient and many styles of music and did get messed up and played for their fans- they never tried to sell records and encouraged Their fans to make and trade tapes. They only left behind the biggest, most loyal fans to love a band- Whether you think they suck doesn't matter- If you love the DEAD POST here NOW!!

  • 8-9-95 it still hurts real bad . Jerry I love you and will forever be thankful. Im 42 and saw my 1st show at the Capitol Theatre when i was 13 in 1978 and caught over 200 shows from 1978 to 1995 , last being Giants Stadium . I still listen every day and catch Bobby and Phil whenever they are in town . Jerry and the GD are a huge part of my life and will always be . Again thank you , I love you more than words can tell .

  • R.I.P old friend. we all loved you.

  • Great photos, brought back alot of memories, but Jerry was born in 1942,not 1945.I miss him dearly, his guitar playing and singing came straight from the heart.

  • Have you ever seen a more genuine smile than that of Jerry Garcia?

  • very nice

  • Nice piece, it takes you right back doesn't it?

  • Jerry you are the man, your music lives til the end of the world.

  • miss you papa bear...

  • man that was what i call tear jerking.

  • Wonderful images!

  • Well done

  • he is gone but his music lives forever. I have many fond memories of being a really little kid listening to the Dead. I really wish I had a chance to see him.

  • Jerry's gone but the music never stopped.

The dead wasn't just about music. It was also about all the kind souls like you that made the magic happen. Thanks for sharin your tribute with everyone and stay kind.

  • what a life he lived. miss ya man r.i.p

  • He was born in 1942....not 1945. He was 53 when he died. By the way, that song was and still is GREAT!!

    Peace,my friend.

  • Happy B-day Jerry... and many many more!

  • happy birthday Jerry! we sure miss you!

  • today is his 65th birthday. celebrate it well, jerry, you are missed!! nice tribute, btw.

  • Thanks for a great tribute. By the way, Wikipedia puts his birthdate as Aug. 1, 1942.

  • The storie teller has no choise, and soon you will not hear his voice. it makes me sad that all is left is the word jamband or as i call it jerrys retarted seman

  • expand your narrow mind and began to see furthur as it's spelled

  • I agree ... jamband is not a genre. It can be jazz, rock, blues, techno, etc. Just because a band has a long instrumental session everyone now says "oh it's a jamband." -- I've always had a problem with that. Anyway, the music lives on through my page too, check out my Fire on the Mountain. Thanks for the tribute!

  • My comment was replying to dreadyhaskel's comment btw.

  • exactly, look at ELP, may not hear lyrics in concert for an hour, look at tarkus prime example of early experimental techno

  • I miss him :-( I might not consider Jerry to be the best guitarist, but he's definitely my favorite.

  • next life y are a guitare...in meinen händen.

  • Its all about the music people. RIP Jerry. Show my brother Kyle the way. Ill see yall soon.

    One Love

  • check out "jerry Garcia in pictures"with the "ripple"

back-ground song. For uour brother, Kyle and you

  • Truly one of the best guitarists of ALL-TIME he did things on the instrument most couldn't fathom. he inspired so many. He picked us up when we were down. Jerry, you continue to inspire

  • Gos Bless Jerry Garcia. In our hearts forever!

  • curious: why this video has different music than every other version on the web? answers? i think the other song was insulting...this is much more befitting a beautiful man like jerry. (and i know he's doesn't mean in a "bed" in the song...but i personally liked the humurous imagery through the tears). "Going home, going home, by the waterside i will rest my bones." rest in peace always jerry-eternally grateful for all of the inspiration & love you brought to my life. jillstraw

  • Jerry, If your watching Youtube from ?

I think you were a kind man!

  • Is Jerry Garcia grateful to be dead? lol

  • Great Video.

    Captain Trips would be proud.

    RIP Jerry

  • Great video for a great man. he is still alive in his music.

    LOVE YA JERRY!!!

  • BrettMeisner great video and nice work. Jerry, thank you for the joy your music has brought me and the world. I send you my love and energy to the heavens. I know youre shining down on us and well...thank you! Keep Jammin up in the skies because your music will play on forever.

  • I love you Jerry!

  • this is one of my favorite songs ever. the whole american beauty album hits me right in the soul.

  • fare thee well, fare thee well I love you more than words can tell

  • All you Jerry fans out there will get a real rush out of the "Grateful Dawg" motion picture. The DVD´s got tons of extra´s.

  • Crazy how the world can change for so many people when one person in billions is gone. Truly a life well spent!!!

  • wow brings me to tears

  • Wow! I wasn't expecting that to happen, but me too.

    >sgarcia6969 (1 month ago)

    > "wow brings me to tears"

  • very nice whats with all the critics??

  • Man...Brokedown was the last song I EVER heard Jerry sing live as the encore @Shoreline '95 on Sunday evening...this is so bittersweet. Keep on Truckin'ya'll

  • Hippie Jerry was greattt!

  • what song is this?

  • It's called "Brokedown Palace". It's from the American Beauty album.

  • Jerry will live forever

  • It makes my brain hurt to think that he's gone.

  • This is beautiful..brought tears...of many emotions;)

  • Whos is Kip Wilson?

Also, what is wrong with this tribute by Brett Meisner? Has he been a past critic?? or what??

  • Beautiful! God how I miss Jerry Garcia!

  • cool jerry t shirts at ebay store the shirt shack

  • like i was trying to say a few months ago this slideshow is totaly out of context... do a bit of research before you slaughter a beautiful song like this.

  • also I admit my spelling is quite crap but then again I'm not a so-called "aclaimed rock critic" who can't spell for shit or even lie well.. Like a mr meisner

  • the only thing Brett has done of any worth to wit using brokedown palace as a soundtrack.. as for kip - he had better be real only a sick fucker would make a story like that up! But with Brett anything possible {apparently,}

  • "this is probably the best video ever posted on youtube. But then, what else could the world expect from some one as talented and recognized in the world of Rock Music as Brett Meisner? The man is a giant in the business and the artform" HAHAHAHAHAHA FUCKING IDIOT!

  • Er..shut the fuck up.

  • I don't care what anyone says.... I miss Jerry and I miss the shows. I miss all of you who made my trip all that much better and, interesting!!!

  • I so agree. He made the shows what they were. He was the dad to all of us!!!

  • I miss Papa Jerry. Captain Good Trip made my trip in Oxford Maine. Mmmmm.

  • you need to settle down who the fuck do you think you are?you really sound like the jerk off here.what makes you think you are a fucking authority on garcia.how many times did you see the dead or the garcia band? you just sound like an outspoken authority on nothing.keep your mouth shut and you might learn something asshole

  • Wonderful pics! Perfect song! Thank you!

  • jerry was born in 1942, not 1945.

  • This one is a tear jerker you are missed Mr. Garcia

    Zed Loves!

  • President Clinton said when he was told Jerry G. had died, he couldn't stop cryin...

  • the vid is off da chain.... but who is kip wilson

  • I was referring travelin4light by the way not blank182.

  • amazing

  • Does anyone know the name of this song, if u do could u post it up, thanks.

  • yes it's called brokedown palace and it is by the dead

  • The title is "Brokedown Palace"

  • brokedown palace

  • Jerry did you know....will you be waiting on the other side?

  • <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/RmWrpi4wngE"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/RmWrpi4wngE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

  • Yeah 1942 is what I thought too. I liked the video but showing a picture with him sitting on an actual bed during the lyrics in a bed by the water side is totaly off. Thats not what the lyrics mean. Thanks for the video but I think you could have done better.

  • Gee, you're great at handing out left handed compliments travelin....

  • Oh my God man.....relax with the critique. You need to just chill out and enjoy the piece instead of picking it apart.

  • Great Job!!! I miss Jerry!!!

  • A BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO JERRY. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH! Love, Ilene jerrysjingles@aol.com

  • AWESOME!!!! I love the tribute-- tripbear420
