Wow. Thank goodness all of these people were discouraged early on! Otherwise where would they be today? Had people told them they were good enough and that "trying" wins championships, they may have never reached their potential. Stay critical everyone. Your discouragement could lead to the next great leap forward!

Thrown away from his own town and own team, his coach saying - you are not good enough for a soccer player - Hristo Stoichkov.

One of my teachers went to great lengths to convince everyone that there was literally something wrong with me... I got an A in another subject... and she said to that teacher that she just couldn't believe it. She thought I was stupid and should accept it. Knowing that me and Mr Edison have something in common makes me feel a lot better. :) Thanks for this! (In case you'd like to know - next year I start my Masters.)
Thanks for this great motivation...Good to know that all great and successful people have also their failures...maybe thta's those who bring us up that high? Let's go for it!
My 7th grade PE teacher issued me a size TWENTY gym suit. I was told I was awkward and 'hopeless'. Later, I became a personal trainer, taught many fitness classes, and was Chattanooga's water aerobics 'guru' for many years. I ran, and placed, in road races (running and biking, both) and on one occasion hiked 29 miles with *much* elevation gain, and loss, in about four hours. I never managed to grow into that size 20. Not even close! LIving juicy is the BEST 'revenge'!
@methodmarketing WOOPS! That would be 18 miles, not 29. Gregory Bald, Great Smokies Nat'l Park, in June when the wild azaeleas were at their peak. Hiked alone that day.. well, me an' God I guess.
@methodmarketing WOOPS! THat would be 18 miles, not 29. I hiked to the top of Gregory Bald in the Great Smoky Mtn's National Park. I'd gone there alone, and the road to the trailhead was closed -- so I hiked the road, too. It was just me, God, and the glorious wild azaleas up on the Bald, that day!
The Walt Disney one is partly true... Many of his ideas were stolen from novels written way back. One of the popular examples is The Little Mermaid which was written by a Danish writer.
