The parallax community, with a development team at parallax is going into the alpha stages of the IDE for the Propeller in C... yes in C (finally).

@mcr1981 yea, I figured they would be. It is really a great company and a powerful micro, just the ide is a little weak and a little too proprietary... can't wait to see what happens!

yea, that's the best part... the arduino board has a built in usb to serial chip. Don't forget to use the inverter though.
