@xisumavoid (In response to your comment to @BinklePlease ). But jumping off of the ladder at the wrong height counts as jumping onto the crops, meaning you have a chance to destroy that piece of farmland. (Any ideas for a fix?)
hey u know u can walk on farmland without the fences now in 1.8 the fences did nothing it was a bug but then they implemented it in 1.9 and 1.0 hope it helps makes it a little more cost effective
@Matsokune There is no need to test, It's totally do-able, i didn't do it that way in the first way because the design was very piston/redstone efficient. Just make the farmland area bigger and add more pistons with water sources and wire them up
@TrocaderoKillen you could move the ladder forward one block but some drops will catch on it, Its tricky but if u get the jumping right it becomes quite easy
Hey dude, love the design but i cant get the water to work right with the latest pre-release. I have 3 waterless squares of dirt, right around the hole infront of the ladder (step 5). Love the tutorial and the design overall, but can you plz take a look with the newest pre-release, would love to get this working right.
@m8harry If they have changed the game mechanics for hydration distance then surely the ones furthest from the water would be affected. your problem is quite puzzling and i will see if it happens to me.
@m8harry Are you on pre3 or 4? I just built this on 4, and it works perfectly for me. Have you double and triple checked that your water source blocks are in the correct location?
Can you make an animal handling mechanism? Like say after a baby animal drops down from your breeding cell, it would fall in a machine. One lever would crush it, one lever would release it, drown, lava, or just leave them to grow in there. I've had this idea for a while now, but i can't get it to work, can you try?
Nice design I must say, but is it possible to use normal pistons instead of sticky ones in any way? Slimeballs can be rather annoying to come by sometimes!
@Nzill im sorry, you mean redstone torches, yea you will either have to sacrifice to blocks of farmland to protect from water, or rotate the redstone torches to the outside where they will be safe
It would be cool if you made a new stackable farm design that is easy to plant.

1 floor of my farm gives me 12 stacks of wheat, and i used a lot less resources. Still good farm with an original design.

@Datron101 thats great :D and thank you :)
xisumavoid 3 months ago
@xisumavoid Well, I built a 2 layer model and It worked as expected. I plan on adding more tomorrow. Thanks again :D
Datron101 3 months ago
might there be a way to change it so each layer gives 48 or 64?
Matsokune 3 months ago
@Matsokune Yes but it would require more water sources and pistons
xisumavoid 3 months ago
@xisumavoid would you mind testing this for me? if not then i'll just have to mess around, but if you can i'd greatly appreciate it :D

this must be a pain to replant.
THRMReactor 3 months ago
@THRMReactor I made a tower of this, not THAT hard to replant, but getting onto the plots is.

xisumavoid 3 months ago
@xisumavoid Ok, thanks, I usually die atleast 1 time while trying to get onto the platforms, cause of falling xD.
But since you still have to replant it, i see no problem with them catching on the ladders.

Hello there (Lol)
I am not anonymous.
I do forgive.
I do forget.

@xisumavoid Yes for some reason ALL media fire links dont work for me...

looks great but can you plant the whole thing with crops over(can you reach from the latter to the piston area)

I found making it 1 row shorter at the ladder side made it work just fine.

@m8harry Some of the drops will catch on the ladder like that though.

how does the light reach all the wheat?

@Minecraftinity Wheat has a required light level to grow. The torches will light up every block of farmland to that level or more

Nzill 4 months ago
@Nzill try replacing the pistons in different directions instead, like a gate, that restricts the water
OutcastAngelV 4 months ago
@Nzill Yes it is, but you will need 2 sets of Redstone torches, one next to each piston, rather than 1 for both
xisumavoid 4 months ago
@xisumavoid Might the water actually destroy those torches? Just wondering abit.. O_o
Nzill 4 months ago
@Nzill the torches are above where the water is flowing
